Charming 1950s family cottage along Piscataway Creek just minutes from town

I grew up in the Tappahannock area, right around the creek where our cottage sits today. I don’t live there anymore—I’m about 45 minutes away now—but the river, the woods, and this property have always been a big part of my life.

I’m someone who enjoys staying active—working out, training, and taking care of myself. I also love building things. Over the years that’s meant everything from creating my own private training studio to spending more than a year of weekends (and a lot of sweat equity) building and restoring this cottage with my mom. It was a true passion project, and seeing it come to life is something I’m really proud of.

I love being a host because this land has been in my family for over 100 years. My grandfather grew up swimming, canoeing, and fishing in these same creeks. My dad did the same. I did too. My mom and I worked together to restore the cottage, and she has just as many memories here as I do.
