Otter Lodge is located on the top of the hill past Wild Wings Cabin. This is an immaculate four-bedroom home with a generous kitchen fully stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, and utensils. A bonus is a dishwasher that isnā€™t MOM! The living room features a 47" tv, a reclining sofa, a reclining chair, and a sleeper sofa. This was the ownerā€™s home of the previous resort and sits behind existing cabins. You will still be treated to phenomenal sunset views from the generous deck. While this cabin sits a bit higher off the lake, there is a gentle slope to the water and pier.

The Otter Lodge Living Room features a 47" TV with DirecTV satellite programming, a recliner, a reclining sofa, and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen offers a refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Bedding is provided, but you provide your own towels. ADDED VALUE ā€“ We have a cell booster and unlimited wifi in this home!

Unsafe! Do not stay here

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Well to start off the deck was awful! My husband fell down the stair hurting himself which put a huge damper on our vacation. I called to inform the main office of the issue and didnā€™t even receive an ā€œIā€™m sorryā€ but got Iā€™ll get maintenance out which NEVER happened! How can a rental be rented out in these conditions! They are lucky it was him and not my young child or myself or I would have contacted my lawyer. The hospitality of our stay just wasnā€™t there. We were really looking forward to the same care as the previous owners and the new company is just that, a company out to make a buck. No care for the people staying there at all. Cabin could use some updates. The oven will burn that place down it is so broken. It cooked biscuits in 4 minutes! The hot water could burn your skin off! Cabin hadnā€™t been properly cleaned as there were dead bugs in the bathroom and it was ā€œjust cleanedā€ I was told. The property: they picked mid week to cut the grass when my daughter was playing and having fun. Come on people! It is called turn around day! The dock outlets didnā€™t work to charge the boat and when it rained it blew the all the dock lights. The main doc was being replaced when we were there, just what you want to hear on vacation. Chain saws and power tools. That is why we left and when on vacation. The crew working on the doc was great. They came in later and did everything they could to not disrupt our stay. We will never be back and donā€™t recommend staying here.

Beautiful and Clean, but Offsite Management Issues

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a decent experience. It did not start out that way. We had a major problem with our boat as the motor just quit in the middle of the lake @ 6:30am on the second day of our stay. We had to row to shore and walk a half mile back to camp. Eventually the situation was rectified, as we were given a pontoon to use at 11:30am. However, we missed one of the few good mornings of fishing that week on the lake. Communication was poor, as the convenience store at the camp didn't open 'til 9am, and she had issues getting answers from "her boss". At 7am, we called and left a message at Hiller, but didn't receive a response until 10:30am. Megan, the receptionist was nice, but there was no follow up. We called back at 11:15 just as we were told by the store clerk at the camp that we could take the pontoon boat. Megan said the maintenance crew was supposed to prioritize our situation, but they didn't. I expressed my frustration to Megan and she said that she would forward the information to "management" and that someone would get back to us. No one ever contacted us. I thought, at the very least, that someone would have contacted us and apologized. Happening on our first morning of the trip, this soured the rest of our stay.I will say the cabin was clean and comfortable. The location is great. It's just that, with remote management, no one was there to take care of our needs in a timely manner. One would think that there would be an on-call person from 6am until 10pm, given that there is only remote management. We think we'll look elsewhere for next year.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The picture of the cabin is deceiving for one. To be tucked behind another cabin was deflating. The cabin was very nice although the deck was heaved from the last winter weather. The boat was great with the trolling motor although the fishing was lousy. And then to hear we were being charged for gas we could not have used. So that after fact really ruined the idea of ever coming back. The store was very nice and the help there was very friendly. But that does not fix the problem. I feel deceived and taken advantage of. Id likely not come again to this resort. Needs someone to watch and be responsible there at all times.
