Thank you to everyone considering our home, and to this guest for sharing her feedback. We’re sorry her stay did not fully meet her expectations and appreciate the opportunity to provide a few notes that may help future guests know what to expect: • Appliances and switches: The home’s appliances are all relatively new. During this stay, the guest had difficulty operating the microwave, and we were able to assist her by phone in understanding the control panel. The light switches throughout the home are standard switches, except for the combination controls for the ceiling fans and lights. We are always available to provide additional instructions if a guest has difficulty with anything in the home. • Dining table: To preserve our solid wood dining table for the families who stay with us, we keep a protective clear cover on it. We understand that preferences vary, so we also provide tablecloths and placemats that can be placed over the cover for guests who prefer a different look. • Bathroom: The bathroom has shower curtains rather than a glass enclosure. Because of the room’s layout, adding an enclosure would require removing the bathtub. We have chosen to retain the tub because this is a family-friendly cottage, and many families with young children find it useful after a day at the beach. • Neighbors: The surrounding homes are occupied by quiet, full-time residents, and this is not a party neighborhood. As in any residential neighborhood during the summer, guests may occasionally hear neighbors enjoying their yards. • Housekeeping: We take cleanliness seriously and wish we had been notified of any cleaning concern at check-in. Had we known, we would gladly have had housekeeping return promptly to address it. • Pricing: This was a four-week stay during August, our peak summer season, when the cottage is normally rented at weekly seasonal rates rather than discounted monthly rates. We have been welcoming guests through VRBO/Homeaway since 2006. Of our 85 reviews, 74 are Excellent and 9 are Good, and this is only our second “Okay” review. We’re proud of the experience most guests have and take guest feedback seriously. We encourage guests to let us know during their stay if anything needs attention so we have the opportunity to address it promptly.

Tasha, I am so sorry that the house was not in acceptable condition when you checked-in. As you can see from other reviews we strive to have everything in great condition for our guest. We did have housekeeping do a deep spring clean 2 weeks prior to your arrival but apparently they did not do a good job. I only wish you would have contacted us when you arrived to let us know about the situation so we could have had someone out to take care of the issue.

We are sorry for your inconvience. The garage door does need to be reset after a power outage. It is being replaced.
