Not the Ritz6-night stay, 4 adults, no kids or pets.Pros* Great location for businesses and beautiful Colorado nature* Updated kitchen with large island* Updated primary bedroom/bath* Large, quiet yard* Washer/dryer; we cleaned a clogged dryer vent /we fixed* Host responded quicklyCons* Sparse, thrift-store-quality kitchen supplies; missing cookie sheets, hot pads, etc.* Listing inaccurate: no pool* Clean hot tub, but strong musty/wet-canvas smell* CO detectors were in a drawer; smoke detectors were hardwired* Too many checkout responsibilities* Too few, dark/worn lamps* No pet bowls despite request to keep pets off furniture* Screened porch had one chair and wasn’t welcoming* House/yard show significant neglect* Beds are very soft/sagging and need replacing* Furniture/decor need updating; vintage dressers/wood beds smelled old* Internet was unreliableArrivalWe asked ahead about basic kitchen supplies and a clean stove. Host said items “walk off,” so no spices, soaps, coffee, plastic wrap or toilet paper. A few basics were actually provided—yay! We arrived after dark to no lights, a difficult door code and a broken screen. /we fixed easily. Cleaners hadn’t arrived, and we considered leaving. Host responded quickly and sent cleaners ASAP. With kids, this would have been a much bigger issue. VRBO support was not helpful. We stayed and made the best of it. This property could easily be 5-star with some attention.
