Enjoy the holiday in the middle of the Azores archipelago, the central location of Ribeira Grande is the ideal starting point for all activities on the island.

Quinta Velha offers a total of 3 self-catering apartments.
"Casa Lea-Sophie" is located on the 1st Floor with separate entrance. It is a lovingly furnished apartment with a wood-burning stove, which ensures a good indoor climate in winter. It offers 4 separate bedrooms with 2 separate bedrooms. The open kitchen and living area with TV and free Wi-Fi, offers enough space for preparing meals and a cozy get-together.
"Casa Moritz" offers the same equipment as the apartment just described and can also be heated. It is located on high ground floor with direct access to the garden and a beautiful view to Lagoa do Fogo.
"Casa Mitchi" is Paterre with separate entrance and mostly fantastic sea views. At about 70sqm there is a modern, spacious living and dining area. Also includes a spacious bedroom with double bed and a bathroom with shower, BD, toilet and vanity.

In the vicinity there are shops, restaurants, museums, golf course and a riding stable. The capital Ponta Delgada, which is about 20 km away, offers many cultural events and sights, as well as the opportunity for whale and dolphin watching. Of course hikers, divers and fishermen will also get their money's worth.

The associated garden with barbecue, garden furniture and pool is available for free use for our guests. Fruit trees, hydrangeas and much more, invites you to linger.

Apartment with fantastic sea view. Casa Mitchi is located on the ground floor with a separate entrance and stunning sea views. The spacious apartment offers guests a modern kitchenette with all necessary appliances, a dining table with 4 upholstered chairs, a cozy living area with TV and WIFI, a bedroom with double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe and a spacious bathroom with shower cubicle, washbasin, bidet and WC.

Amazing Destination

Hosts were very accomodating , helpful, and kind. The rental was gorgeous and the views outstandimg! We had an awesome experience at this property, felt liie home.

The Perfect Home Base

Our family of four, including two adult children, really enjoyed our stay. The property was clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is convenient to all attractions on Sao Miguel. For us it was the perfect home base from which to launch all of our adventures.

Perfection

We stayed at three places on Sao Miguel and this was by far the best. If we could have extended our stay here we would have! The apartment was spacious and beautiful and our hosts were so kind and helpful with everything. Ribeira Grande is a great central location to explore everywhere on the island. This home feels like you are a million miles from everywhere at the end of the day which makes it so relaxing. But you are five minutes from the grocery, beaches, restaurants… Don’t think twice about staying here-you won’t regret it!

Comfortable and quiet garden setting

The apartment is large with 2 private balconies with wonderful views of the town and ocean. Marion did everything to make us feel at home. They have lots of (quiet and friendly) animals, which was a great bonus because we really enjoyed them. There are spectacular views from every direction. It's located close to the town and highway, so it's easy to get anywhere on the island. Also, there's a beautiful beach 5 minutes away. The house is situated on park-like grounds and they've provided a safe and fun setting for small children. I can't think of anything else that we could want!

Es war alles so, wie in der Beschreibung abgebildet. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war ideal uns vorzubereiten. Es hat alles einwandfrei und flexibel funktioniert. Unsere Gastgeberin hat uns herzlich empfangen und wir hatten wunderbare Gespräche mit ihr. Sie gab uns unzählige viele Tipps, welche wir nutzen konnten. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in der Quinta Velha! Insbesondere dank der Tipps von Marion konnten wir auf unseren mitgebrachten Reiseführer getrost verzichten.Auf Grund unserer späten Anreise nahmen wir das Angebot eines ersten Einkaufs danbar an. Die Ausstattung war mehr als ausreichend und die Ferienwohnung war sehr sauber. Die Lage war ideal für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen der Insel. Wir waren bestimmt nicht zum letzten mal dort!

Gastgeber mit Herz und Seele

Die Kontaktaufnahme war vorbildlich. Aufkommende Fragen wurden schnell und umfassend beantwortet, dazu gab es noch einige hilfreiche Tipps hinsichtlich Ausrüstung und möglicher Aktivitäten. Das Haus ist in einem sehr gepflegtem Zustand. Wir hatten das Apartment "Casa Vista do Mar". Es bietet viel Platz, hat hohe holzvertäfelte Decken, so dass man auch bei schlechtem Wetter gern im Haus bleibt. Zudem gibt es zwei Terrassen, mit tollem Blick über die Bucht und auf das Meer. Die Vermieter sind vorbildliche Gastgeber, immer ansprechbar und um das Wohl ihrer Gäste bemüht. Sie kennen die Insel sehr gut und hatten mehr Tipps für Aktivitäten, als wir Zeit hatten. Ganz besonders wichtig war für uns der Hinweis, an wen wir uns an einem Sonntag Abend in einem medizinischen Notfall wenden können. Nicht unerwähnt lassen möchte ich auch, dass sie während eines kurzen aber heftigen Unwetters, mit Blitzeinschlag in der näheren Umgebung, mitten in der Nacht bereits Schäden beseitigt haben, so dass am nächsten Tag wieder alles funktionierte. Wir empfehlen die Gastgeber und das Objekt auch unseren Freunden und würden auch wiederkommen.

Ruhige Ferienwohnung mit klasse Aussicht.

Die Ferienwohnung liegt in ruhiger Lage, ist großzügig geschnitten und umgeben von Feldern. Zur Verfügung stehen kostenloses Internet, ein Pool im Garten, Parken am Haus und klasse Aussicht. Die Eigentümer Marion und Dieter, stehen gerne für Fragen zur Verfügung. Auch das Einchecken um 24 Uhr war ohne Probleme möglich und ein Plausch ist immer möglich.

Short but sweet

Marion was a delight, giving us a tour of Ribeira Grande on our arrival so we would be sure to know where all the key places were (grocery store, beaches, etc.). She also recommended going into Ponta Delgada on our night of arrival for a Christmas celebration. Though we were tired and would normally have stayed in, we took her advice and were so happy we did! Fabulous night out, the city centre was lit up so beautifully and was heaving but felt very relaxed and the live music was lovely. Ribeira Grande is a lovely town and the property was well placed for visiting. Though you are right by the town it is rural in feeling with a bevy of animals (dogs, cats, chickens, ducks & horses) to enjoy. Many thanks for an enjoyable short stay! Next time we will definitely come for longer.

Super accueil, calme et emplacement idéal sur Saô Miguel

Trés bon accueil. Compte tenu de notre arrivée tardive la propriétaire avait proposé de nous faire quelque course. Le lendemain petite visite rapide de Ribeira Grande pour trouver le supermarché, la plage, et les restos recommandés. L'emplacement est idéal et permet de rayonner facilement dans l'île. Sur les hauteurs de Ribeira Grande, au calme, avec champ en premier plan, la vue sur la mer et le coucher de soleil. Grand appartement confortable pour deux personnes. Bref, c'était parfait.

A wonderful family stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was spotless, recently renovated and had all of the tools we needed for family meals and entertainment. The property is perfect for animal lovers with horses, friendly dogs, cats, chickens, goats and more all kept tidy and healthy and in their respective places. The property is in Ribeira Grande (a great central location for exploring the island) minutes from a supermarket but as it is at the end of a long drive you are surrounded by cornfields, hills and beautiful views Of the ocean and mountains. The hosts were very welcoming, warm and helpful and always on property to assist. Thank you for the great vacation!

Excellent stay at Casa Mitchi

Such a nice stay at Quinta Velha with Marion and the Schmitz family. The house is set on a gentle rise just at the southern edge of town. They have a beautifully well cared for farm landscape set apart from the other homes in the area, gentle animals, stunning sunset views of the north western shore looking toward Santo Antonio, and behind the house a dramatic view of the rise to Lagoa do Fogo. When we arrived, Marion was very warm and generous to give us a tour of the grounds, and also a quick drive around town to find the best local spots to visit for the rest of our stay in Ribeira Grande. They made us feel so welcome and at home. The apartment is handsome, clean, spacious, well appointed and modern. Everything that you need for a comfortable stay. We look forward to our return and will be sure to recommend Quinta Velha to our family and friends.

Super-Urlaub in Quinta Velha, Casa Mitchi im Juni 2019

Die Ferienwohnung ist hervorragend ausgestattet und Teil eines großen Landgutes mit Pferden am Ortsrand von Ribeira Grande. Bei den Besitzern haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, mit Ratschlägen bereits vor der Anreise und Empfehlungen während des Urlaubs. Besonders schön ist die wunderbar ruhige Lage des Anwesens. Mit dem Auto sind es nur wenige Minuten zu Restaurants, Sehenswürdigkeiten und zum berühmten Strand von Santa Barbara. Wir können die Quinta Velha wärmstens empfehlen.

Eine Reise wert

Sao Miguel ist eine Reise wert. Atemberaubende Landschaft, mit sehr viel Grün, in Kombination mit dem Meer, Wasserfällen, heißen Quellen und Bergen. Es gab so viel zu sehen und erleben. Dazu Familie Schmitz, unglaublich herzliche Menschen, die einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen, sehr fleißig sind, ich hatte das Gefühl, Freunde gewonnen zu haben. Die Ferienwohnung ist sauber, es ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Anlage sehr gepflegt. Die Anlage liegt sehr ruhig und dennoch nicht weit vom Ortskern und Strand entfernt. Fazit, ich komme sehr gern wieder.

Urlaub bei Freunden

Nicht nur Sao Miguel ist eine Reise wert. Auch der Aufenthalt bei Familie Schmitz ist es: Der Empfang ist so herzlich, dass man sich sofort zu Hause fühlt und das Gefühl hat, man sei bei Freunden zu Besuch. Die Wohnung (wir waren im Casa Mitchi) erfüllt alle Urlauberwünsche, ist modern eingerichtet und sauber. Auch die Lage ist optimal: Von hier lässt sich die gesamte Insel wunderbar erkunden – gleichzeitig hat man in Ribeira Grande alles vor Ort, was man für einen perfekten Urlaub braucht. Wir haben uns auf Sao Miguel und bei Familie Schmitz sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns für die schöne Zeit.
