Welcome to A Cabin in the Pines! We designed our home with the thought of family, friends, and your furry family members in mind. The home is a beautiful luxury 3 bed/ 2 bath custom mountain home, pet friendly, with a jacuzzi!

The home sits on a 1/4 acre lot and offers comfortable & durable luxury accommodations throughout. It was recently fully remodeled and has top-of-the-line everything! The backyard is fully fenced in with over 3,000 sqft of lush grass, a large deck, and a large paver patio.

The neighborhood is nice, quiet, peaceful, and extremely kid-friendly. There might be a total of 5 cars a day that drive by the home, which are mostly, if not all neighbors.

The entrance to the Washoe Meadows State Park is 3 houses away, offering a nice family-friendly hiking area, the Truckee River, and easy biking trails.

Also, a short distance away is the Tahoe Mountain Trail, which is great for hiking and intermediate mountain bikers. There are also a TON of other biking and hiking trails all around the home. The neighborhood is perfectly far enough from the hustle-bustle of town to not hear anything other than nature, but close enough to be to the casinos, restaurants, and heavenly village within 15 short minutes! There are also a few great restaurants that are within 5 minutes of the home as well.

The home and neighborhood gets a ton of sunlight and it has State-owned land and National Park land throughout! This allows you to get that mountain escape that you are looking for, while also offering the closeness of restaurants and other entertainment.

You will have plenty of room to park your cars but they cannot be parked on the street. Especially during the winter because of the Snow Plow. There is also room to park your Boat or RV if you have one!

You'll feel right at home in this beautiful luxury 3 bed/ 2 bath custom mountain home with a large fenced yard that is kid and dog friendly, a hot tub to rest those sore muscles and plenty of room for entertaining!

The abundance of windows and natural light creates a welcoming mountain experience looking out every window and seeing pine trees and the mountain landscape. Custom-made fixtures throughout, wood floors, luxury bedding, 2 electric fireplaces, high-end finishes that are kid-friendly, and themed rooms. You'll never want to leave.

Feeling adventurous? You'll find numerous hiking and biking trails right outside the front door. The Angora Ridge forest area is a block away and the Washoe Meadows Park entrance is 3 houses away. If hiking and biking are not your thing, the property has you covered with Heavenly and Sierra at Tahoe 15 minutes away. Kirkwood and almost a dozen other ski resorts are within an easy drive. The casinos, tons of restaurants and shops, and Lake Tahoe are all within 15 minutes and a local brewery is just 5 minutes down the road! The Home allows you the escape of peace and quiet in the mountains while being close enough to everything.

Other things to note

Worth Mentioning
* Both the City of South Lake Tahoe & The County of El Dorado have become extremely strict in the enforcement of posted rules which can be found in the rental agreement. Be sure to become familiar with said rules to avoid steep fines and visits from the authorities
* This home sits in a quiet neighborhood and therefore extra consideration should be made to keep the noise down.
* This home will be stocked with a starter set of consumables such as soaps and paper products. Guests are advised to either bring or purchase additional after arrival.
* We have a strict no-party policy, the registered guest will need to be 26+, excessive use of the property/ extra cleaning required/ failure to follow checkout procedures/ breach of the rental agreement will result in steep additional charges.
* Guests will have access to park 1 car in the garage and 2 in the driveway but no street parking is allowed
* Maximum occupancy of 8 adults, up to 2 kids under 5 years old. Pets are allowed, but there are no aggressive dog breeds allowed, and a maximum of 2 dogs on the property at any one time.

You will have access to the whole home, the whole secured garage to park and store your toys (at your own risk), and the whole yard, which is our favorite part of the home in the summertime!

* If you are unable to check out by 10am sharp, you will be charged a $50 late check out fee. This creates a lot of extra stress on our team because we have to turn the property over and have it ready for our next guests, which is typically the same day and just a few short hours after your check out time of 10am.

* Renters must be 26 or older

* Cleaning Fees include in price many extras: jacuzzi service prior to arrival (some homes only), starter kit of basic supplies such as basic towels for the maximum number of guests, shampoo, soap, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Beach towels are not provided, and laundry detergent is not provided. If the home you are renting has a jacuzzi or a pool, it is recommended that you and your guests bring beach towels.

*If there are any issues with the home not being cleaned properly, you have 12 hours to report them and they must be reported to us directly. We will do our best to get over to the property ASAP to remedy any and all situations to ensure you have the best possible stay at our property.

* If there is excessive cleaning that needs to be done to the hot tub after your stay you will be charged a $250 excessive hot tub cleaning fee.

* Do not park in front of or on the neighbors property at any time. Do not block driveways. The lot next door to our property is private property, do not trespass on it or park in front of it at any time.

*Pets - Dogs are allowed, however, there is a maximum of two dogs allowed. There are no aggressive dog breeds allowed on the property. We love all dogs just like you, however, the insurance liability and risks are too high. Also, if you are caught with dogs on the property without paying the fee, you will be charged an additional $500 on top of the pet fee. If there is any dog poop left on the property you will be charged an additional $250 cleaning fee.

*Emotional support animals must be disclosed at the time of booking. If you do not disclose you are bringing an emotional support animal you agree that you will pay the $150 pet fee. You also herby agree that you will pay a $500 penalty for the non-disclosure in addition to the $150 pet fee,

* No smoking in any of our properties, ($500) five hundred dollar fee will be charged if you are caught smoking on property.

Note: Our home has a recording video/audio surveillance camera in the following areas: Viewing outside driveway, viewing outside the front door, viewing inside of the garage.

Please understand that South Lake Tahoe is building a reputation as among the strictest towns in the nation in regards to Vacation Home Rental Ordinance Enforcement. Please understand that our management has nothing to do with the creation and/or enforcement of laws by City and County Police and Sheriffs. We are here to help provide guidance to all our guests.

The following are heavily enforced rules by the City of South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County. By booking a home, the guest agrees to abide by:

1. Strict limitations on # of guests: Do not exceed the maximum # of people and cars allowed on the property at any time. Absolutely no street parking in front of the home in dirt area/nonpaved area is allowed due to Vacation Home Rental Permit Compliance. Each violation is subject to a mandatory citation of one thousand dollars to the guest, and one thousand dollars to the property owner. If a guest receives a citation by City or County, they agree to pay one thousand dollars per citation to the property owner in addition to the citations.

2. Understand and respect our highly noise-sensitive community. No loud parties/special events or loud noise outside anytime. No noise of any kind allowed outside during city-mandated quiet hours of 10pm-8am. Please enjoy the home by remaining inside or in a public place that allows noise during quiet hours. Also, the occupancy of the home is limited to only registered guests (Not exceeding 8, excluding children 5 and under) between the hours of 10pm-8am.

3. No visible trash may be left outside due to wild animals. All trash should be deposited inside our approved bear-resistant trash bin.

4. No use of jacuzzi between 10pm-8am. The City or County is very strict and will write a citation up to one thousand dollars, and you will be responsible to pay the property owner an additional one thousand dollars.

By agreeing to this electronic document, the signer acknowledges he/she is 18 or older and is legally responsible for compliance of all occupants of the VHR with all applicable laws, house rules, and regulations pertaining to the use and occupancy of the VHR, and that should any violation of this ordinance occur, that fines may be imposed in accordance with sections 5.56.150 and 5.56.200. No campfires or outdoor fires are allowed without a campfire permit.

Cute home, perfect for pets!
The home was very comfortable for both of us and our two small dogs and located in a lovely neighborhood. The yard and patio were great places to enjoy the evening and let the dogs explore. There was a lot of room inside and out to entertain or relax, if you have more people in your group. The owners were very easy to work with and quick to respond. Near the end of our stay, we experienced a minor problem in one of the bathrooms and they responded within a couple minutes and had somebody out to address it. Really exceptional communication. Very cute house and would definitely recommend it to others.

Cabin in the Pines
Great property. Chris was great to deal with. The property was accurately described. Nice quite neighborhood ~4 miles from South Lake Tahoe shopping (grocery stores, liquor stores and restaurants). There is a small community with restaurants and grocery store closer but the bigger selection is in South Lake Tahoe. Would definitely rent this house again.

Quiet Friendly Neighborhood
Pros: The home was cute and adorable; it has a large backyard. The owners were very communicative and provided thorough instructions and tips; we were also able to check-in 1 hr early (thank you). The home has a heater which was perfect since we were there mid January (heavy snow). The home is located in a quiet and nice neighborhood. Each room has a smart TV (including living room). Cons: The hot water would run out after 2 adults showered simultaneously for about 15mins ea. We would then have to wait anywhere between 40mins to 1hr so that the water tank can refill. Another con, which is not surprising, was the smell of dogs. On our first day, as soon as we opened the door, there was a stench of dog (probably the previous guests). Going hand in hand, on our first night after we made dinner, my wife began sweeping the floor and she collected a bunch of dog hair— so cleaning company needs to do a better job. Overall, the inside decor & furniture was beautiful— very “lake tahoe” themed. One room has a full size bunk bed, ideal for a small family. The other two rooms have nice queen size beds. We very much enjoyed our stay at this residence, albeit the dog hair and smell.

My husband, 18 month old daughter, small dog, and I stayed at this lovely cabin. We loved that it had a pack and play for our daughter to sleep in. It also had a large yard for our dog to roam around. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.

The yard was great for the dogs, the house was exactly what we needed, we loved the little den above the garage. The hot tub could use some stairs or something to make it safer to get in and out - but otherwise the place was great and we would def stay again!

New Year’s in Tahoe
Nice property in Tahoe! We enjoyed our stay over New Year’s. Quiet neighborhood, but convenient to the grocery store and other stores in South Tahoe. We booked because it was in walking distance to a relative’s home and was dog friendly. Loved the fenced yard for the dog and the hot tub was nice for us. The large family room with tv was great for watching football games! The kitchen was well stocked. The only negative was found a few leftover items in the bathroom and a few of the cabinets (bathroom and kitchen) needed a good wipe down. Great to have the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for us and our 2 teenagers! Would rent this house again!

Nice Place
Host looks like they put a lot of effort into keeping this property great for their guests. Both the interior of the house and exterior landscape were extremely clean. The hot tub being ready to go on arrival was a plus., The exterior is extremely family and pet friendly with a huge fenced back yard with real grass. All amenities worked properly and the house was well stocked. Host is a great communicator. Beautiful quiet neighborhood. We will be back

EXCELLENT time!
We had two adults, four teens, one dog. The inside of the property was sparkling - all linens looked and smelled fresh, floors were spotless, bathrooms and kitchen were super clean. Our family had plenty of space to spread out. We enjoyed many movies in the living room with the electric fireplace going. Even though the backyard was fenced in, the snow in the yard was up to/past the top of the fence, so we kept our dog leashed any time he went out. Not a big deal, because we all loved playing in the snow! The house was maybe 10-15 minutes from the village, even closer to grocery stores and gas stations. We had a very snowy day during our visit (got a foot or more), but the roads and driveway were cleared by the next morning. We never required chains, but had them in case. Also, we were able to fit our minivan in the garage. I would highly recommend this stay! Chris has taken very good care of his property and was quick to reply to any questions.

Wanted a short relaxing time away in the snow with our dog. Beautiful home with nice amenities. Should have told us hot tub not available in winter. Disappointed that it wasn’t clean. Garage situation is a little tricky, but owner helped and it was all fine. All in all, a fun stay!

Excellent experience. Host and place were absolutely awesome!
We searched for a pet friendly home with a hottub which narrowed our options significantly and the yard and family room drew us to this home. A great choice! The large, fully fenced yard was perfect for our dog, and he especially liked sitting out while the kids enjoyed the hottub. Inside, attention was paid to every detail with interior designer quality finishings and a huge, cozy couch for the end of day wind down with the whole family. The host (Chris) checked on us throughout, responded right away, and gave the full five star service. The only thing we missed out on was seeing a bear. Next time! If you're looking for a quiet family (including the furry family member) friendly house for your getaway close to the best hiking of Emerald Bay and Fallen Leaf Lake, look no further. You won't regret staying here! Ray S
