Peaceful Getaway

Loved the cabin! We got to see deer grazing early in the morning and loved the fireplace. The only thing was there are no TVs or Wifi, but you can use your phone as a hotspot.

Great place to stay for fishermen. We had 2 boats and a 3rd truck as well. Actually would have had space for an additional boat. Will stay there again next year for sure if available.

It was a pleasant stay. The area was very peaceful. The information booklet needs to be updated with correct distances to restaurants. The only need not provided were trash bags and proper recycle bins.

Clean and quiet. No close public access to water. Some cell service but no Wi-Fi but we knew that.

Hickory nuts on metal roof is loud but itā€™s fall and we were in the woods.

Remote Getaway

The property was just as listed. Very beautiful and peaceful. There were a few amenities that the owner had explained that werenā€™t yet available but we managed fine. Overall stay was very pleasant. The kids really enjoyed the Corn Hole game and the adults joined in and had just as much fun. Not very good cell service but for the adults that made it more pleasant. Would stay here again no doubt!

Beautiful Wooded Setting

So excitedā€¦..yet so disappointed. The entire property was filthy! We had to wash everything before we felt comfortable using it. There was nothing clean. Musty smell. Grill was even left filthy. We were asked to stop for toilet paper and trash bags which was no problem, butā€¦.it clearly had not been rented in forever.

No Internet, No TV

If you have to work on the go you will not enjoy this location at all. You have to step outside and down the driveway for cell reception and hot spot for a computer is near impossible. HOWEVER, if you like being unplugged and freakishly quiet, this is the spot for you. Winding roads to get there impede road traffic that is not someone intentionally looking for an address on Blue Springs Rd. Half of our group loved it but the near 20 to 25-year-olds who work online on the go, not so much.

Rustic and quiet

If you do not like rustic or nature, this is not the place for you. Other than they need to spray for spiders/bugs, the place was exactly what was expected. Itā€™s nothing fancy but the beds were comfortable and the layout worked for us. I read another review where the porch was dusty/dirty from not being used and it was the same. The cushions for the chairs were in a tub and we just didnā€™t mess with getting them out and possibly cleaning. So the screened porch, that was a selling point, wasnā€™t utilized like we had hoped for morning coffee, but we mainly were there to sleep. We gathered at another rental with the rest of our family. We had something the owner needed to check and they responded promptly. The driveway is a little tricky. In our truck, we had to back out, as there really is no easy way to turn around and itā€™s hard to see. Thankfully there isnā€™t a lot of traffic on the road. But a mid size SUV or small car could turn around a little easier, to pull out. We enjoyed the place, itā€™s furnished well and I would recommend! We saw deer on the morning we left. : )

Disaster

No central heating and air so if you want to stay cool in the rooms you need to leave all doors open. Which defeats the purpose of privacy. Only has a mini split that cools the ceiling of the kitchen and one room upstairs. Host rude non responsive wonā€™t answer all questions/avoids questions. Stained sheets, pillows. You can tell the host doesnā€™t like guests just by her wording in the welcome book. Definitely a grouchy old person.this visit showed me I will never use a vrbo and trust a host again. Paid for 4 bedrooms got a 3 bedroom. Just all around bad experience. Build up of dust and dirt in every corner of the house. Not taken care of at all. If you expect a host to do the very bare minimum then this is the place for you. My tents stay cleaner than this place. Oh and not a single tv in this place. Building is not up to code and can tell itā€™s very unsafe. My guess is that they bought a basic hunting lodge and did the bare minimum to make it barely live able. Would not recommend. If I could go be lower than 1 star I would. Oh fridge is rusted badly and you can tell very little effort was put into this place. I felt nasty even after taking a shower. Also the shower head shoots water in every direction except on you. This place was comical.

Great Property, no access to water

Let me preface this by saying that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Just like with everything else, there are pros and cons. Pros are that the cabin is absolutely beautiful, and clean. We spent several hours on the screened in porch just talking. The owner made the check in and out process very easy and even sent us a list of suggested restaurants in the area. The cons are that there is no access to the water. The title lists it as "view of the water", but that's from across the street. Your only options are to 1 drive to public access or 2 be bold and ask a neighbor to use their dock. Well, we're extroverts, so it was no problem for us to ask a neighbor, who was extremely friendly and even invited us to happy hour! We spent a very pleasant evening getting to know them. However, this may be an issue if you're not comfortable with that kind of thing. All in all it was a very nice stay, however if direct access to the water is your main concern, this isnt the place for you.
