This charming loft is situated in the heart of town, just a few steps away from vibrant bakeries, cafes, restaurants, and stores. You'll enjoy the convenience of being equidistance from Bar Island, Hannaford's Grocery, Cadillac Mountain Sports, Rosalie's Pizza, Criterion Theatre, and Side Street Cafe - all of which you can explore by foot, bike, or via the Island Explorer Bus. As lifelong locals, we think this is one of the best spots in town, and we love to offer our guests two free parking spaces with the rental - an amenity that's rare in these parts. The Loft was once our family physician's office, and we're proud to have transformed this space into a place of new memories! Whether you're here for a romantic weekend getaway or a business trip, you're guaranteed to experience the best of what this historic town has to offer.

Wonderful Acadia

The loft was great for a small group (3-4). Can’t beat the location. Walkable Bar Harbor - close to restaurants, grocery store, Bar Island trail, Bar Harbor shore path. Easy access to Acadia hikes and carriage road trails. Great spot.

Amazing, close to everything

Really nice, close to everything, a little cold, but fun. We ate out alot, thirsty whales had best clam chowder, grocery store was close. Definitely would go back. My favorite was fiore

Wonderful experience

Great location in the heart of Bar Harbor. Nice parking. The house was stocked with everything when we arrived. The host was an excellent communicator. 10 out of 10!

BHB with parking

The Physician's Loft was a great home base for our adventuring on Mount Desert Island. We were there off-season, so the town and the park were delightfully quiet. The off-street parking, responsive hosts, and clean + comfortable accommodations were perfect!

Fantastic Location

We had a wonderful stay, walked to town each night for ice cream and very close to Acadia. Hosts were so responsive.

Great location

This property is in the middle of everything. The loft is perfectly stocked with everything you can’t even imagine that you need. A great place to stay in Bar Harbor.

Amazing Stay in Bar Harbor

This is one of the BEST places we stayed while on vacation ever! Within a short walk to so my wonderful restaurants and a short, easy drive to Acadia National Park. Two off-street parking spaces are a great bonus, especially given how hard it can be at times to find parking in town. Desiree was wonderful answering all of my questions in advance of our stay and the the place was well-appointed for our small group. Can't say enough great things about our stay here!

Great home base!

We really enjoyed our girls getaway and stay at the 'Physician's loft'. The location is perfect for exploring Bar Harbor. We were able to enjoy near by Acadia National park during the day, return 'home', freshen up and head out on the town for dinner and drinks. Renee was a wonderful attentive host.

Beautiful loft

The Physicians loft is a beautiful apartment. close to town - a short walk to restaurants, shopping, the harbor, and grocery store- and so convenient to Acadia NP. The apartment had everything we needed, and the owners were very responsive when we had questions. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect Spot for Bar Harbor Stay

Physician’s Loft Condo was a perfect, comfortable apartment for our Bar Harbor stay. Very well appointed kitchen, and a sweet, thoughtful surprise basket of Maine-made goodies. Beds comfortable, with nice linens. Lots of games for families/kids to play if you are inclined! Location is great, right in the middle of town and walkable to excellent coffee shops/bakeries and restaurants and shops and the town’s best grocery. Owners respond very quickly to queries. Thank you!

Fall vacay

The physicians loft was a great location and clean. They thought of all the extras and details that you might want or need! I would recommend this vrbo to anyone. You do have to climb a flight of stairs when enter the building to get to the living space if that is an issue for any travelers. The only con I have to say is the bedrooms were not big enough to place our large suitcase in the floor in our room.

Family Vacation

We were looking for a home base for a family that includes some who love all sorts of outdoor activities and some who prefer a relaxed pace with some shopping and great meals to spice things up. The Physician's Loft was a good option for us. We loved the proximity to everything in Bar Harbor and easily managed to do the things we wanted to do. We barely used our rental care since we could walk everywhere and the Island Explorer bus provided readily available transportation to Acadia National Park.

Best of Bar Harbor

Property has a wonderful location that allows for the easy exploring of downtown just off the doorstep. Decor was modern, inviting and allowed for some comfortable areas to disconnect, read, or recharge. Had all the kitchen essentials to dine at home, as we tend to like this option during multi-night stays. Would have preferred two full baths, but otherwise this space was just perfect!

Relaxing Home Away from Home

We loved The Loft and hated to leave. It immediately felt like home. We slept so comfortably and were able to come and go during our week with ease. The location is ideal, and the hosts made sure we knew all the best spots to go. We were able to spend so much time in Acadia but still see the best of Bar Harbor. Loved the skylights! Super clean and easy to entertain ourselves in the evening. Puzzles. Books. And now, I am into Tangles! They thought of everything--and it would be excellent with little kids too. We'll be back.

Baa Haa Baa

The location was so convenient to accessing all the shops and restaurants. It doesn’t have a view but that was ok. The facility had everything we needed and it was comfortable except for the bunk bed isn’t comfy for an adult. Otherwise the place was great.

Great hosts at a great location

We had a great experience staying here. We had one small request during our stay, and the hosts replied promptly. The house was clean, and all of the amenities you would hope for were there. On-site parking was a really nice perk since we noticed that many other rentals only offer street parking. The location of the property is excellent. The home has nice charm as well.

Honeymoon Week

My wife and I stayed here for a few days during our honeymoon. The location is excellent! Bar Harbor has many great restaurants all within a few minutes walking distance from the property. Acadia is also just a short drive from the location. The property was very clean and spacious for my wife and I. Additionally, it was easy to access with clear instructions from the owner. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Great stay and beautiful property

Pros: It is a wonderful and beautiful space. We loved how close it was to town especially with the rain we were able to go to eat and everything we needed without any trouble. The owner has included many perks that are extremely appreciated and thoughtful. Everything from coffee to shampoo and feminine products to anti itch creme, snacks and more. Cons: Balcony: The website says there is a balcony we did not find one. (The owner assured me this would be fixed) Smoking policy: We are smokers, and keep our home smoke free as well. We also ensure cigarette butts are not left behind, I know all people are not like this. However finding out AFTER booking that we had to go into the street to smoke was not pleasant, this should be on the website BEFORE booking. (The owner assured me this would be fixed) Beds: Our friends found the beds quite comfy. For us they were too firm. Due to causing back and body aches we ended up sleeping on the sofas. Everyone is different but maybe a topper on one of the beds would be helpful Front door: The front door is a fire hazard as it is very difficult to open. You have to turn the handle just right to get out. During the urgency of a fire this could be deadly. (The owner assured me this would be fixed)

Family trip

The physician’s loft was great all around. The location is outstanding with parking for two cars. The unit exceeded our expectations - living, kitchen and eating are very family friendly. Desiree has taken alot of care to make sure the unit is well stocked with all the things needed to make for a great stay. Very cute place. Would recommend it as great place to stay.
