Paradise

Very nice condo and location, great pool! Washing machine was broken but communication was great and the cleaning staff took our laundry and washed it for us. The only thing I would recommend is some form of rental golf cart or car as this building is on a very steep hill. Everything else was great and we enjoyed our vacation in paradise!

Great View

The condo complex was very well maintained. The location was good but if you are not able to make the hike up and down the hill to the beach it may be less desirable. As the condo is situated on a hill, the pool area was quite windy most of the time and the pool was quite brisk. Pass for the loungers at the pool may have made the pool experience more comfortable. We spent our day at the beach and rented tents and loungers for 20 US. Amazing sunsets. We enjoyed our time despite everything.

Beautiful Place.

Location is amazing. On a hill overlooking the beach and amazing sunsets. Property is spacious and has everything you need. We had a great experience. Note: because the property is on a hill the short walk to the beach is pretty steep. We were lazy and drove the short distance and parked right by the beach. Recommend.

Unbelievable Experience

We are a family of 4 and had an absolute blast at Oceanica 816. The location is perfect, close to anything you might need (grocery, restaurant, beach, marina, etc.) within walking distance. The pool at the condo was one of our favourite spots. But the absolute best was hanging out on the spacious balcony that has the BEST view I’ve ever seen. We can’t wait to go back. Thank you!

Nice condo, broken appliances, terrible service

The condo is spacious, great location, gorgeous view of the ocean from balcony. Balcony was a highlight for morning coffee and sunsets. However, after calling and emailing property management 5 times about the broken washing machine, no one ever came to fix it despite assurances that it would be fixed "today". One air conditioner was also leaking water.

Paradise Vacation @ 816 Oceanica Play Flamingo Costa Rica

From the time we arrived at the condo we felt like we were at home. It was very spacious, clean and had all the amenities required for us to call home for our stay in Playa Flamingo. The balcony was our go to place to start our day watching the sunrise as we enjoyed our coffee and enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean and watching the fishing boats head out. We also gathered on the balcony to watch the picture perfect sunsets…so beautiful. The location of the condo was awesome. We were very close to a beautiful beach(10 min walk) and also to the marina which had many boutique shops and restaurants. Loved our stay and highly recommend it.

Would’ve thought this was repaired!! Gave it a chance- ask questions before renting! -Poor poor poor management of property: communicated same day of arrival that air conditioners in 2/3 rooms were not functional, a quick response of “ Our team is working on getting this resolved. We will let you know once we have an update. Is there anything else I can assist you with?” Was texted back but no one ever came. Texted 5 days in a row asking for an update- but would get the same automated response. Called once and was in hold for 45 mins, once call answered received the same message from a live person, but also said he would communicate via phone with an update. Never called back. Traveled with my kids, not having the ac units functional in the rooms was not ideal at all!!! Overall it was an ok rental. If return to CR I would look elsewhere, mainly because of the non functional AC units, and poor communication by the management company. Hope this was helpful to future renters.

Great location … but

The unit was in a terrific location and the beds were very comfortable but there are a lot of issues with the unit. 1) there is a leak dripping from the ceiling above the sink, 2) two of the four room air conditioners are not working, 3) the right master sink is stopped up and will not drain, we’ll not quickly, 4) the shower head in the master is half clogged up, 5) the washer kept having dirt and grime come out in the tub after each load, 6) the dryer vents are likely stopped up because it took 3 cycles to dry any clothes, 7) while the sectional sofa looks great, it is worn out and sinks down unevenly enough to make seating very uncomfortable, and general cleanliness could be better including dishes. With a few updates to these key areas, the place would be outstanding. You know the dishes

Great location and views

This is a great unit with lots of potential but would benefit from a little bit of updating and love. The building seems well maintained, elevator and pool area are nice. The views and proximity to the beach are great (caution: there is a steep hill to go up and down to the beach but this was no an issue for us). The apartment is quite big, with nice balcony, living and dining areas. Some of the appliances are showing their age. The washer is rusted on top and we did not dare put our clothes in it. The fridge and dishwasher have seen better days (e.g. dishwasher doesn't work on Normal cycle, just Heavy and Light). And there is no BBQ on the balcony (as shown in the main listing picture). The balcony furniture is totally different than the picture, I might say for the best (more seating and more confortable) but the BBQ dissapeared. If you go through the listing pictures you can see the 2 versions of the balcony furniture, the ones without the BBQ are current. There is a BBQ in the pool area if you really want to grill (we didn't) but some people might want to rely on having the grill in the unit.
