The Sassafras cabin was very clean. The hot tub was great working condition. The property was very secluded just what we was looking for. Just an FYI going down to the river is very steep the winery across the road peaceful blend is very good to stop by for a quick bite and a glass of sangria or wine driving past the horses cows goats chickens was very good to see this place is definitely in the country but a quick drive back to Cuba or Steelville for a quick bite if needed

Fantastic

Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was perfect and the view overlooking the valley was great. I definitely plan to stay here again.

Secluded sanctuary for the weekend

Perfect headquarters for our team for rally racing trip. Nice views and nicely cozy cabin. Steaks were very tasty! Thanks.

Great place!

We had a great stay. Beautiful clean home with a great view. Loved everything about it. Owners very responsive and we had everything we needed. There was even firewood there. Very impressive. We would love to stay again. Thanks so much!

Sassafras Cabin Getaway

Property was remote and very peaceful. The site was very clean and well maintained. The outdoor furniture was very clean and sturdy and came in handy for the 2 very warm nights we stayed at the Cabin in late February.

Lovely Weekend

The home was clean and just as described. The host responds quickly and the resturants we tried were all wonderful! Steelville has a cute mainstreet with fun shopes to explore also.

Christmas getaway

My family and I decided on an experience instead of too many presents this year. We definitely had an experience- fishing and hiking on Christmas day, thanks to perfect weather and a beautiful location. The Sassafrass cabin was a comfortable fit and had all we needed. There was even a Christmas tree! We highly recommend this stay.

Quite and peaceful

We got a little confused on location. Google maps failed us that night but travel and being dark out when we arrived really made it hard to see. Place was quite, beautiful, clean and cozy. We had a very nice stay.

Perfect Stay!

We loved the Sassafras cabin. It was perfect for our friend float trip weekend. Everything was clean and had all the needed essentials. Close enough to town to visit grocery store and restaurants but also in the country setting. We used Kickin’ K floats for our float trip and it was great to end at the cabin property and not have to drive after a day of fun on the river. We also stayed at the Dogwood cabin which was within walking distance so perfect for our group of 10. Will definitely stay here again.

roaches

at first it looked clean until I got up in the middle of the night and turned lights on and roaches ran everywhere!!! left the following morning!

I am very sorry to hear that! We have an exterminator here every couple of months and have never had a report of roaches before, nor have I seen any while cleaning. I will contact the exterminator immediately and have him re-treat the property.

Wonderful cabin!❤️

Loved this adorable, quaint cabin! Perfect for me, my husband, two teens and our lab! It was clean, cozy, comfortable and had all the items needed in the kitchen to make a meal. You have to drive/walk to river access, but it's only a couple minutes just down the road (two great spots) and it's easy to get in and out. It was secluded enough to feel like you're away from everything, but also close enough to town to run and grab groceries, or other needed items. We met the owners and they were so friendly! We got a little lost at first coming in, so make sure you look for the signs that direct you to Murphy's Place, 4J Vacation Rentals property (Sassafras Cabin). It might be helpful to have exact directions sent once you book the place....since it's situated pretty far back from the road. Such a wonderful get away! We will be back for sure!

Vacation

Beautiful cabin on beautiful property!! We were more than impressed upon entrance of the cabin. It was so quaint so beautiful clean with a beautiful kitchen with every dish you could need. The washer and dryer in the cabin was a life saver while on vacation. The bedrooms were perfect with beautiful views out the windows. If I could have made any changes at all it would only be two things, the shower was too small could barely wash my hair because you can’t get out of the stream of water lol barely turn around in there and second was the BUGS!! Holy cow being in the mountains in mid summer the bugs were horrific. We could not enjoy the hot tub due to excessive bugs outside and 2 out of the 4 guest got spider bites in their sleep and we all got ticks. There were spiders and ticks everywhere inside and out! To be expected in such a rural area. It was still a beautiful place and perfect location to enjoy all the local Missouri spots caves, springs, river.

Quiet & Cozy

Great place for a relaxing weekend away. The view was beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub on the cold autumn evenings. I think it would be ideal for 4 people. With 6 (2 were kids), it felt a bit tight and maybe not worth the "additional guest fee".
