Family friendly lake front home with private dock in a cove

5 Bedroom 3 Bathroom home with everything you need for a weekend or week long stay. Bring your friends, your kids, your boat!!!
Ground level has 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living space, and a huge deck with a grill and views of the lake. The bottom level has 2 bedrooms, full sized washer/dryer, sofa sleeper, sectional couch, and tons of open space. Walk out basement to the backyard and the steps down to the dock.
You’ll get some steps in getting down to the water but it is well worth it. A covered boat slip with a swim platform. This is a low traffic cove so no worries about boats coming by and disrupting your swim, kayak, or floating around on a raft.
The front yard is huge and the circular drive and dead end road makes it great for a walk or a bike ride.
5 minutes to a boat ramp, 5 minutes to Twin Creeks marina and swim beach, and less than 10 minutes to downtown Winchester.

we had the absolute best time. The house was great and very homey. There is about 160 steps round trip up and down the steps but it's didn't slow us down from enjoying the dock. The neighbors were very pleasant. We would definitely love to stay again! Thanks, Darrow family

Property was as described . Very spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pans, 1 med crock pot and a med size air fryer . Large frig upstairs and a 2nd frig in basement ! We had 7 adults and 5 kids from age 6-10. Large main floor master with shower and toilet. 2 smaller bedrooms on main floor as well with a full bath in hallway. The deck off the main floor was awesome ! Great view of dock and could watch kids swimming from it. There was several kayaks at the house . The downstairs was so spacious had a 3rd bathroom with shower and washer dryer. The space was much bigger than the pics. We had to contact our host about one minor thing and she was so responsive and helpful. The steps to the dock were more of a challenge the first few days but by the end of our week we were all better for it ! We rented a pontoon several days from the nearby marina the location made it easy for pick up and return and there is a wonderful sand beach close by. We all said we would love to go back for another stay. Great week went way too fast . Convenient to town and1 hour from the space center in Huntsville. We totally enjoyed the puzzles and games. Great stay. Peaceful and private.

Nice location

Nice location, easy instructions in the binder to reference information about the stay. Prior guests left some lovely floats by the dock. Friendly neighbors as well.

Good place to stay

It was a my family’s first outing in a long while as a whole. There were 13 of us ranging from 4yrs of age to 76 yrs of age. The property had plenty of room for the whole group, the kids took over the down stairs and enjoyed the games and puzzles that were already there. The stairs are a tad bit steep but manageable I have an artificial limb and made it no proble my mother has breathing issues and made it only twice though of the 5 day stay. At the dock is where the kids had the most fun though jumping in and swimming for hours we left 5 inflatable tubes in the box at the dock. In all it was a great stay.

Summer reunion 2024

Every year we get together with our kids and their families and this year we chose this property and it fit us to a “T” There were 7 adults and 3 kids and we all were quite comfortable. I’m sure you will enjoy your stay here but I will warn you … they’re not kidding about the hike up the stairs … this old fat man had to take a couple breaks on the way up, lol but it’s doable. Loved the boat dock and knowing the boat was secure from the lake traffic.

Perfect!

We had a group of 10 work friends and family. House has plenty of space with the 5 bedrooms plus couch space for sleeping. The back patio and balcony were great for hanging out! The fire pit was our gathering area at night. The steps to the water are tough but manageable. We rented our pontoon boat from Twin Creeks marina which is very convenient to get to by car and boat. The dock area was so fun for lounging and swimming when we weren't in the boat. We would definitely chose this home again!

Great Lake House

We had a short family vacation before my husband started chemo treatments. We had the best time! My brother in law brought his pontoon boat and having the dock at the house made it so convenient. We had plenty of room and enjoyed grilling and eating on the deck! The owner was great to respond to any needs that we had!

Celebrating Thanksgiving

We absolutely loved our stay. There was plenty of space for our group of 10, and the property is located in a quiet neighborhood where grandparents & great-grandparents could take a nice walk each afternoon. There was great fishing, and a beautiful view, along with lots of games & puzzles for the family to enjoy. The host was very responsive and friendly. We hope to return again in the spring/summer.

Fantastic Stay

This house is, in my opinion, better than advertised. Great location, responsive owner, and a lovely home. I've stayed in several VRBO homes and this is in my top 3. It's clean, well-stocked, and just so fun.

Great house for groups!

There was plenty of room and the whole property has so many lovely features. We loved swimming off the private dock, and the deck is perfect for group dinners.

Worth the climb

Our family from age 4 -84 had a great time! Beautiful spot with privacy. Yes, it is a climb from the dock back to the house. Yet we enjoyed floating, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing in this little cove. Great mini vacation for the 12 of us. Enough room for all of us.

Father's Day Getaway

Our family enjoyed our time during the Father's Day weekend. We brought our boat and enjoyed the private dock! Our son caught a couple of catfish and bluegill off the dock too! The house was a great size and had plenty of beds and rooms. The only issue we had was some bees on the stairs to/from the dock. Plenty of room for dining - even invited some friends over for a catfish fry! Thanks for a great time!

2nd stay at this property. Will be back again!

Friendly helpful owners; great communication. Property is well maintained and very comfortable. Back deck is spectacular with two large dining tables. 77 steps to lakefront and dock, not for the faint hearted or elderly. But just sitting on the deck is so peaceful it makes up for the inconvenience. Our family had a reunion there last year, and with hotels in short supply, I rented the house again for out of state family for a funeral. The 6 people were thrilled to stay there again (familiar and great memories), and the price worked out less than hotel rooms! Highly recommend!

Great times at the "Lake House"!

About ten minutes from our residence and with enough room for an extended family gathering, the Lake House was ideal. It was clean and spacious with lots of amenities. Full kitchen with plenty of dishes, glassware and silverware. Comfy beds with lots of space. The lake frontage was a bonus, even though a steep 75 stair steps, good exercise! Huge deck seated all of us comfortably. We did not need our charcoal, as the grill is propane. We REALLY needed this awesome get-away! It was appreciated to have good communications with the owners. Would rent it again if the need arose.

We have owned this property for 8 years. Our children and our grand children have spent every summer up here over these years swimming, boating, fishing, and all the lake things. We have loved the privacy it provides with such easy access to the main lake. As they are getting older and having busier lives, we think its time to share this incredible family friendly home with all of you to create your own beautiful memories.

The almost private cove allows for relaxing at the dock without boat traffic passing by and the waves disrupting a peaceful float. With the addition of Twin Creeks, we are a very quick boat or car ride to the restaurant or public beach.
