We had an enjoyable stay. The house was very clean. There were too many air fresheners so we just unplugged them. A burner on stove doesn’t work, also the air mattress they provide goes flat quickly. We stayed with nine people so we used every bed available. The peacefulness and the privacy of the property made up for all of that. We loved the quiet and the whippoorwills and the frogs at night and the meadowlarks and other birds waking us up in the morning. We definitely would recommend staying here.

Clean and comfortable with fresh wildlfowers on the counter! ATV trails were great and really enjoyed exploring property. Tons of space both inside and out. Kitchen could use some TLC (dishwasher wasn't actually attached so had to be careful when opened and microwave door/handle had a lot of super glue all over it) but really minor things overall and would recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at the Barndominium Farmhouse! The location was optimal for visiting the Shawnee National Forest, Cave-in -Rock, and the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. The home had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable and plenty of space for our pup to explore. Would definitely stay again!

We absolutely loved the stay the kids were about to fish and my son caught 3 fish (which we did release and he did not hold it) we all went hiking and enjoyed the silence outside. They were welcoming to oets i also loved reading the guest book of other familes experiences at the rental. When we got there the host had left christmas gifts for each of the kids and one for all the adults to share which as very generous and inviting.

Great location and spacious land

Great location. Close to Garden of the Gods, Little Grand Canyon and Cave in Rock. Loved the land this farm house is on. The little diner in Golconda was awesome. Highly recommend this property if traveling to Southern Illinois.

Serenity and Solitude We went to relax, unwind, and enjoy. We did. We fished, enjoyed an evening fire under a full moon, and loved exploring the expansive property riding on the trails. The entire property is clean-No junk. Home is comfy. We thank the host for sharing the family home and history. It was wonderful.

Slice of heaven, wonderful escape

We enjoyed our peaceful stay. The stars were spectacular, and the property was so much fun to explore. Would definitely stay again, it was easy to get the all the hiking areas.

Great rustic getaway!!

This is a great place for a family getaway! The area is beautiful and the ranch is super fun to explore. This is a gem in southern Illinois for sure!

Mom’s Birthday Weekend

Absolutely loved our stay! We had our two dogs who were able to run and play freely. We went hiking at nearby state parks and had amazing food. The location was great. The property was amazing, we even had a fire both nights. Thanks so much! We will definitely book again.

Seeking a weekend getaway for my wife and I, as well as a place our dog to roam, this property was the perfect remedy. With acres of area onsite to explore, the awesome hosts have taken great care in providing everything a guest could need- from amenities to activities, both indoors & out, they've covered it all.When we weren't enjoying the property, we were mere minutes from exploring Golconda- (with special mentions for the museum and the Chocolate Factory!)- as well as some of the many attractions Shawnee Nat'l Forest offers- Lake Glendale, Lusk Creek, Garden of the Gods, to name a few. The only regret is that 3 days wasn't enough time, so we'll be returning soon!

Amazing serenity

Loved this quiet place just far enough from town for peace and privacy but close enough for convenience. Property was absolutely beautiful.
