4 MINUTE WALK TO THE BEACH! One of Folly's favorite stays, 'Folly's Best Kept Secret' is a completely renovated beach house with all the comforts of home. Centrally located, the home is just a short walk to the beach and the fishing pier, which also happens to be one of the best surf breaks on the island! Center Street with all it's restaurants and shopping is just one block away. Relax and enjoy the casual lifestyle that Folly is famous for, without ever moving your car! Dine at one of the great restaurants, then take a walk on the beach.. Finish the evening with cocktails and conversation on the home's large screened porch. A true four-season home that's cozy and warm, it's also perfect for winter getaways!

You'll really enjoy the new-house comfort this home provides while maintaining it's casual 'Folly-style' attitude. Renovated in a contemporary lay-out, the living room is open to the large kitchen, dining area and the screened porch making it perfect for entertaining both indoors and out. There are two large bedrooms (both are queen beds) and two large baths. There's even a hot and cold outdoor shower. Perfect for two couples or a family of four. You'll find 2 cable TVs, Free Wi-Fi, DVD, and blue-tooth sound - all to make your stay complete. Parking is a breeze with 3 off-street parking spaces including one covered space. This house is clean and very comfortable!!

Historic downtown Charleston is just a 20 minute drive away and offers some of the finest shopping in the southeast but make sure to leave time to take in some of the beautiful historic landmarks that made our city famous.

Despite water line construction going on right in front of the house we had a lovely stay. And the owner is super responsive and went out of his way to try and help fix a situation with a neighbor’s flood light. There are so many places in a short walk distance from the house, it’s a great location!

Wonderful location, spacious rooms and comfortable beds as well as quick responses from host. The provided beach supplies and speaker were a nice bonus! I very much recommend staying here if you want easy walks to beach, pier and restaurants.

Our family of 4 stayed here and we had a fun, relaxing week. The house is in a great, convenient location close to the beach and Center street - perfect for the 2 teens with us to come and go and not need a car or golf cart. Loved the screened-in porch for reading and relaxing. The kitchen was well-stocked, house was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We used the supplied wagon for our beach gear and there were numerous beach chairs we could use too. The pictures were accurate and owner communication was clear and helpful. We would definitely stay here again and loved our time in Folly!

Old school beach house porch living

IMO the best part of this beach house is the screened in porch. It’s great to wake up in the morning and have coffee or tea on the porch a nice place to relax in the evening after a day on the beach.

This house was a perfect location. The house was clean, kitchen had all the appliances we needed, the property was well maintained and Ernie was incredibly concise and thorough with instructions for check in/ check out. We vacation in Folly every summer for a girls trip, but he provided an extensive list of places to go and recommendations that would be wonderful for someone unfamiliar with the area. The outside was well lit for safety and we couldn’t have had a better time. We will be back to this house! I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy being so close to the main strip but the house was quiet and tucked away enough. There was ample off street parking and the outdoor shower kept the house as clean and sand free as we could get! No notes!

Great location. Very clean.

We loved our stay here. Nice close walk to the beach. Bert’s is right there so very convenient. Parking was great. Closed in porch was perfect for our rainy days. Only minus was not having streaming sign in on tvs. But cable was good.

Graduation Stay!

We had a wonderful time at Ernie's house on Folly Beach! We stayed for four nights during my graduation from MUSC with my doctorate degree! The home was able to house me, my husband, and my parents. The house was very clean, 1 block from the beach, and in a very walkable location. We had the best week ever!

Great house and location

House was very comfortable for us and had all the creature comforts. Layout was perfect to spread out and you cannot beat the location. We were able to walk to most everything, just wish we had more time. Owner was really helpful and gracious.

Ernie Banis is a Charleston native who has spent most of his life enjoying the beauty of Charleston and its barrier islands. A local residential realtor and avid surfer who first learned the sport on the waves of Folly forty years ago, 'I believe the cozy comfort I've incorporated in this home is perfect for the full Folly experience.' While this home is new to the vacation rental market, I've personally been involved in vacation rentals for years. Having managed family beach rentals at nearby Kiawah Island has given me a unique perspective on what makes for a fun and relaxing island getaway!

Folly is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The minute I cross the bridge all my worries are left on the mainland! I've always found it to be a really good time! Both my daughter and now my grandkids have experienced their first 'toes in the sand' moment on the beach at Folly.
