We loved staying in this bungalow! It was wonderfully pet-friendly, which was so important to us since we brought our dog. The location couldn’t have been better, directly across from a beach access, making it incredibly convenient. The host was kind and attentive, even checking in with us on the day of arrival. One especially thoughtful touch was finding dog bowls set out with fresh water when we arrived. It made us feel truly welcomed. We would happily stay here again!

I can’t say enough good things about our experience here. Gigi was so communicative and just the best host. We loved everything about the house. The location is so convenient. Right across the street from the beach and just a few blocks to Center street. The house itself was very comfortable. The beds and pillows were the best we’ve had in a rental. Our favorite part of this home by far was the back yard. It was clearly made for dogs and ours loved it. A lot of times properties claim to have a fence, but then you find that there are gaps or areas where a small dog could definitely get out. This fence is very secure and goes all the way to the ground. We felt very comfortable letting our dogs run and play out there. We loved staying here and hope to book again in the future.

We absolutely loved our stay at this Folly Beach gem. The host was fantastic — responsive, thoughtful, and clearly invested in making the experience effortless. The house itself was beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need, which made settling in feel instant.The beach access was unreal. We watched the sun rise with our coffee and the sunset with a glass of wine, and both were unforgettable. This quickly became one of our favorite spots on Folly.Our dogs were in heaven, and honestly so were we. Evenings on the front porch with appetizers and wine were pure magic. If you’re looking for a place that blends comfort, beauty and that true Folly Beach vibe, this is it. We can’t wait to come back.

Everything about this rental was perfect!!! A clean and beautiful house in a perfect location. Dog friendly with a nice fenced in yard (even provided a pet station with a covered artifical turf area with poop bags and trash disposal). Communication with the owner (Betty) and GiGi was hands down the best I've ever experienced. They were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay!! We did! We highly recommend and will be renting this house again! Thank you Betty and GiGi!!!

The Love Shack was perfect for Charlotte and her family! Charlotte loved the backyard and front deck and so did we! The backyard is completely fenced in and has a covered dog restroom. You can see the ocean from the living room and front deck! We love to walk and took many strolls on the beach and into the town of Folly. The beach access boardwalk is right across the road, and the town of Folly is less than a mile. The house was clean and extremely comfortable. The kitchen had all the items we needed to prepare many homecooked meals.We loved the Love Shack and plan on returning!

This was the third or fourth time we have stayed at this sweet location. Every time we visit something new and fun has been added or redone. The house is perfectly located right across from beach access so getting to the beach is so easy. The little backyard was great for our fur babies and they had a blast. Everything was clean, organized and the beds were so comfy. We absolutely love this place. No other property we have stayed at on Folly compares. We love that it is an original Folly Beach cottage, well maintained, adorable and oh so sweet! Thank you Gigi for taking such good care of us.

We met Gigi, the property manager, and she was absolutely wonderful, so helpful and friendly. The house was just as described, and the close proximity to the beach, and the easy walk to Center St. made our stay the best ever!

We love this property. We’ve been coming for years and it never disappoints. Cozy, charming, and comfortable with all the amenities, literally a 3 minute walk to the ocean, and pet friendly, the Love Shack is our favorite vacation spot in Folly Beach. Our golden retriever loves the fenced back yard and we love the short trip to Center Street for great food and casual, pet-friendly dining experiences. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, updated furnishings plus a great deck for listening to the ocean make this a perfect spot to rest and relax at Folly. This property combines the charm of the original 1930s beach cottage with all of the modern conveniences to assure a wonderful experience for furry friends and their humans alike. The new enclosed outdoor shower was an added bonus!
Our golden, Silas, loves the Love Shack and all the attention he got from the dog-friendly dining options.

Loveshack for 2 weeks! This is our second time here and it doesn't disappoint. Location is perfect, just a few steps across the street to the beach. The house is well appointed and comfortable. Our pup loved to "porch sit" with us and we enjoyed the fenced in back yard for her. Gigi is wonderful to work with and made us so welcome, again. Definitely will return.

The perfect beach getaway!

We booked the cottage for the July 4th holiday and it was the perfect getaway! Gigi made the check in process so easy and enjoyable! The place was immaculate, and we had everything that we needed and more! We dined out the first night but cooked the remainder of the time and had everything we needed. The location was right at the beach access and easy to navigate. The fenced in back yard is perfect for pups, and I love how the owner has given so much special attention to making her home a place that is welcoming for four legged guests! My husband also commented on this being the most comfortable mattress he’s slept on at a VRBO (and we vacation with VRBO all the time so that’s saying something!). 10/10 stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay and stellar hospitality!

Great location!

The house was perfect for our family of four. It was clean and exactly as described. Easy walk to the beach and only a few blocks off Center St so easy to walk to the restaurants and shops without having to worry about parking. We will definitely consider this house for our next trip to Folly.

Blissful Beach Getaway

After a long career, I chose Charleston as my retirement home. What's so interesting about that is...I traveled several years in search of my perfect spot and ended up only 100 miles from home.
Charleston is multi dimensional in what it offers. I enjoy the history, culture, art, music, and academia of downtown, but cherish most the beach, boating, and bohemian attitude of our barrier islands (Folly). So, for now, I lawyer a little with my downtown firm, and spend most of my time on the beach, water, or traveling. I now have two grandchildren in the area...so my traveling is taking a second seat.
