We loved our stay at this property. The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the water, catching crabs, kayaking, playing in the sand and hanging out on the porch! We had everything we needed for the stay and the host was very communicative and helpful. It was a peaceful and beautiful location.

Deltaville Home Away from Home

Beautiful home, with a wonderful view of the water just steps away. The deck allowed us to take in the salt air morning and night. While the town is small, there are a few restaurants to choose from even a brewery nearby with food truck and entertainment. We had a great time and really enjoyed “family time” together!

2nd Time Around

Love the town of Deltaville and the location of the property. Had a great time crabbing and just relaxing by the water. This is our second visit to the Sunsan Beach property and we’ll probably go again. The property managers are great to deal with and extraordinarily responsive.

Beautiful views

We loved the quaint neighborhood, but the best part was the view from the home. Our family members raged in age from 11 to 91 and we all had a great time!

Truly magical

We had an amazing family vacation at this waterfront house in Deltaville. The house felt like a true home away from home – spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated. The open-concept living area boasted stunning panoramic waterfront views, allowing us to relish the surroundings from inside. Whether we were cooking in the well-equipped kitchen, relaxing in the living room, or dining on the deck, the Chesapeake Bay enveloped us. The beach was a delightful haven. Mere steps from the house, we enjoyed hours of paddleboarding, swimming, and sunbathing. Our children, aged 3 and 6, reveled in building sandcastles, wading in shallow waters, and chasing fish in the tidal pools. The fishing pier was a nonstop source of enjoyment for the entire family. Equipped with all the necessary gear, the thrill of catching fish and retrieving traps teeming with blue crabs created memories we'll forever cherish. A crab feast with our daily catch was a true highlight! The attention to detail was remarkable. The owners had thought of everything – extra towels, board games for rainy days, and life jackets for all ages. Their genuine concern for our comfort and satisfaction was evident. Their responsiveness, warmth, and helpfulness also enriched our experience. In conclusion, our stay at this waterfront house exceeded all expectations and we're already planning our next visit. For an unforgettable family getaway, don't miss the chance to book this property.

Paradise on the Chesapeake

A family reunion (including my 91 year old mother) thoroughly enjoyed staying here! We had wonderful weather and saw amazing sunrises and sunsets. We caught and released over a dozen crabs (and gave one crab a swing on one of the dock swings). We loved kayaking and walking out to the bird blind that was in the lake (the water was so shallow)! I highly recommend golfing at Piankatank River Golf Course - it’s gorgeous and has fun hills. Bring your dishwashing gloves because there isn’t a dishwasher. The “guest house” (with the washer and dryer) is uninhabitable due to the musty smell. Otherwise, this place is fantastic! The back deck with the tiki umbrella was perfect for my mom and the kitchen was wonderful to make our family meals. There were lots of spices and other supplies (plastic wrap, aluminum foil, soap, sponges, etc). Kelley and Greg responded quickly and were very amenable to some special requests. What a lovely week we had! I wish we could have stayed longer!

Perfect Labor Day Weekend Getaway

We just returned from a wonderful holiday weekend in Deltaville. As we walked in the door, we were in awe of the views to the water. The space has been renovated and furnished beautifully. The outdoor patio furniture was so comfortable, and we spent a lot of time on the deck. The water is gentle and very shallow all the way to the end of the pier. Swinging over the water and watching the sunset on the dock was a perfect way to end the day. Our only wish would be for a dishwasher. I felt we spent a good bit of time each day doing dishes. However, when talking to neighbors they explained the local water is tough on appliances, like dishwashers. Maybe once the city water is in a dishwasher could be added. Overall, we loved our stay are looking forward to returning next year. Thank you, Kathy and Greg, for sharing your home with us!

Incredibly Relaxing Stay - Highly Recommend!

This property was great in every way possible. My family hasn’t been on a trip together in years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better reunion. Amazing bay views, lots of crabs caught, and very shallow/warm water with soft sand. The house itself was very spacious, clean, and family-friendly. Only wish there was a better source of filtered water since the shower and faucet water still had a strong sulfur smell. Hoping that goes away with time since it’s coming from a new well!

Lovely place-high marks!

Gorgeous house on the water. The water is brackish so be aware of that-there are jellyfish so you need to keep your eyes peeled. I would not plan on doing a lot of swimming. This is a kayaking, fishing, relaxing location. The house is so lovely. It seemed completely and newly renovated to me. We were 6 adults (mom and dad, two 20 years old kids and their significant others) and we had more room than we needed. There are 5 generous bedrooms but it can sleep many more than 6. The kids fished and caught crabs all day and night (crab traps provided) and used the 3 provided kayaks. They loved it. The dock is so cute and strung up with lights for the evening. We are not a huge game family but they had tons of games and we ended up playing them-very fun! The kids (young adults) stayed up late playing games they enjoyed when they were kids (Clue, Trouble). That actually surprised me! There is a huge tv and tons of movies but we never used it, which also says a lot with 20 year olds! The back porch has really nice porch furniture for relaxing and cute Adirondacks. The house has a grill for grilling out. The sunsets are amazing! The town is desolate so bring your food. You really won’t want to leave so that’s not a problem. This is a lovely place-highly recommend!

Awesome Bay Retreat

A real gem of a property. The house is spacious and very comfortable. When an a/c problem occurred the owner was very quick to get things resolved. The location on the bay is beautiful. Everything the previous quest said about crabs, osprey and eagles is true. Just know you have to take your trash to a drop-off center, but it’s right done the road. Deltaville is a small quaint town that only adds to relaxation. Our group left revitalized, closer to each other and more appreciative of our Grand Creator, Jehovah - Psalm 104:24. We would definitely return but I bet it will be hard to book now that the word is out about this place.

Beach House with a View!

We had a relaxing and fun time staying at the Sunsan Beach House! The house was very welcoming with the attention to detail and peaceful color palette. There was plenty of room for our family of 5. We thoroughly enjoyed the pier; swinging, sunbathing and crabbing! The views were amazing, especially the sunsets. Check in was super easy, and the hosts were extremely responsive when we had questions.

In a word relaxing

I feel lucky to have found this property. Kathy was very responsive and attentive to are questions. Greg (who I could talk with for hrs)was more then informative on anything we needed to know. The house is very spacious and feels like home. The views are spectacular looking out the kitchen window could be a picture. I could not be outside long enough, mornings on the deck having coffee, to the evenings listening to the tree frogs out front. Greg had said it's always different every day. Which you will see, from the way the water comes in and out to the breeze that comes and goes. The water is perfect for small children, my 4 yr old grandson had the time of his life able to walk out several hundred feet and being in shallow water was so comforting to not have a fear of water pulling him out. Crabbing and fishing off the pier was the best (60 crabs total in our stay) multiple small fish for sport. Neighbors were great people, they had small children who played with grandson. I can't say enough about how relaxing and peaceful this location is, and highly recommend this to anyone looking for low impact waterfront home. Thank you again Greg and Kathy although we never vacation in the same place. My family all agreed the would love to come back. In closing to those who are considering this property you won't be disappointed.(stay off those skate boards Greg lol)

Great place to stay!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was great. Dock was good for us to do a little fishing and crabbing. Back porch was really big and open with plenty of seating.

Best Family Vacation Rental in 25 Years

This was our first time visiting the River Realm and we couldn't be happier. The house was clean, spacious, and bright. The property was gorgeous. No matter how hot and muggy it felt walking out the door, it felt breezy and pleasant at the end of the dock. The shallow water was warm and enjoyed by everyone from ages five to fifty. We loved using the crab traps to catch Maryland blue crabs, and we had a delicious low country boil with our catch. The town is off the beaten path, but there are a few restaurants, gas stations, a grocery store, and a Dollar General within a ten-minute ride. The house is loaded with board games and DVDs, which were a hoot to watch with early Jonas Brothers videos among the previews. Although we brought some of our own board games, we ended up trying some new ones at the house, including several versions of Settlers of Catan. Finally, the neighbors, who are summer resident homeowners, their children, and their dog (an adorable young medium-sized spaniel and two gorgeous golden retrievers) were incredibly welcoming and friendly.

Amazing place!!

What an amazing home on the river! Our family enjoyed a long weekend in this beautiful home! Great kitchen! Awesome living room with 180 degree view of the water out of a large amount of windows! Plenty of bedrooms! Huge deck with fire table. Amazing long pier that came all the way to the deck! Caught plenty of crabs for dinner one night! Owners were very responsive and easy to contact when needed. We will be back for sure!!
