100 year old Farm Cottage. Minutes from the beach!

This quaint, rustic cottage is located in the community of Cedar, just south of Nanaimo, on an accessible, yet secluded acreage.

It is walking distance to the beach and boat launch and amazing trails, yet less than 15 minutes from downtown Nanaimo, as well as both ferry terminals and the airport.

The quiet yard is surrounded by beautiful old maple, walnut, and fruit trees and overlooks the horse pasture and pond. It is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful morning cup of coffee or an evening sunset.

An attached games room includes ping-pong, air hockey and foosball tables, as well as a dart board, for all to enjoy and entertain a family. Kids big and small, young or old will love it.

The cottage boasts a cozy master bedroom on the main floor, situated off the main living area, and next to the bathroom. Upstairs is split in the middle with two additional attic-style bedrooms.

A double futon is available in the living room, as well as a single sized roll out cot, both with supplied linens for additional guests. Also provided is a Graco pack and play, playpen for your little one.

This 100+ year old original farmhouse has been freshly renovated, keeping its original rustic charm. We love it and think you will too!

$50 cleaning fee for first couple ($25/guest thereafter)

This cottage is located on our farm property, where where you may encounter our horse and our large friendly dog.

Christmas in the cottage! It was easy because the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a festive dinner. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the games room would have been fun but it was quite chilly out so didn't spend much time out there. This is a great place for a family to stay and would highly recommend it.

Great quiet place to gather in fall/winter when the weather means you want to spend more time indoors. Very authentic old house but has all the necessary updates. The stairs to bedrooms are extremely steep - I'd be nervous of some kids around them. The host has clearly put a lot of work into it - lots of extra touches to make it homey.

Super clean and organized, amazing location, lovely host re: communication.As other reviews say, the stairs are extremely steep. Also felt like the upstairs were not really "bedrooms", it was more like the upstairs double bed "room" is like a doorless bedroom and and the single beds are right there, at the top of the steps.You need to walk past them to access the other double bed room.Still - the place is well worth the price, and we will likely be back one day.

Lovely little getaway cottage for 4 generations of family. Just as advertised. Very well equipped. The kids loved the games room. Stairs to upper floor narrow and steep so be cautious. Granny slept on the main floor! Thanks we will come again.

Just like it says it's a 100 year old cottage with a games room and plenty of space for my 3 kids. The kids stayed in the upper floor - note there are steeper than normal steps leading upstairs but my boys didn't mind. Plenty of attention to details throughout the house with all of modern comforts of home. Good central location close to Nanaimo for all of your day trips.

Great property and communcation was excellent. Ronnie the horse was an excellent neighbor and a kid favorite. Very quiet neighborhood and the house is cozy and well supplied with amenities. The stairs to the second floor are steep but to be expected on an old home. It can get quite hot upstairs in the hot summer days. The downstairs temperature is perfect. Would stay again for sure.

Cozy little cottage where you find everything You need to have a good time including a washingmachine, a flattop bbq and a Gaming room with table-Soccer, airhockey and many more. Everything was nice and clean and every room was decorated lovely. The host are absolutely amazing and we had the best time we could possibly have!Our recommendation: have some nice days there!!!!

Wir haben das Cottage für 2 Wochen gebucht und konnten in der Zeit super die Umgebung erkunden. Es gibt Whale Whatching-Angebote, viele tolle Wanderrouten und sehenswerte Städt und Orte in erreichbarer Entfernung. Im Cottage selbst ist der Games Room das Highlight für die Kids, die sich hier ausgiebig die Zeit vertrieben haben. Der Strand ist nur 5 Minuten mit dem Auto entfernt. Wir haben viel erlebt und die Zeit hier sehr genossen.

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was clean and unique! My daughter lived watching the bunnies and hummingbirds. It is an old house so be prepared for creaky floors and bed, which added to the charm, for me. It was a bit of a drive when we wanted to go sight-seeing but I feel that that was fairly reflected in the price! Beautiful area and wonderful trip.

Girls Weekend Away

We had a wonderful time in your little cottage. It was the perfect size for the three of us. The kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the random blankets to cozy up with in the mornings. We walked to the water (might drive to the park next time) but it was doable. The little boat launch beach had the most interesting rocks and sea glass. It was close to everywhere we were going and you could pick up a bottle of wine at the liquor/gas station on your way in. We felt very safe staying here well off the road and into the property with the other homes close by. Thanks for the fun stay.

Family Christmas

My wife and I stayed 6 nights. One night was our family Christmas dinner. There was 12 of us, including 5 grandkids. All ages enjoyed the games room. The kitchen was well equipped. The owner was very helpful and prompt to respond.

The community of Cedar has it all...beauty, trails, beaches, restaurants and pubs, to name only a few.

This property truly is a hidden gem. On a peaceful 10 acre farm our guests can truly unwind and absorb the tranquility of our rural lifestyle. We are walking distance to the beach and Cable Bay Trail community park, an amazing local hike that leads to Dodd's Narrows where sea lions and Orcas are often spotted. At the same time, we are within a short drive to any of Nanaimo's plentiful amenities.
