Enjoy a luxurious beach vacation with stunning views, heated pool, swim up bar and lots of space for the entire family at the stunning Sonoran Sky resort. This resort is one of the few resorts on Sandy Beach that has a restaurant down by the ocean and pools. The Sonoran resorts are unique as they are intentionally built just steps away from the ocean. Our family loves to sit under the Palapa’s right on the sand, order drinks at the bar, guacamole from the restaurant and just recharge.

Great stay!

Very spacious, clean condo, awesome view as well! We had a snag checking in (the front desk didn't have our check-in info), but I was able to get a hold of the owner right away and he and the front desk assisted us quickly. Would definitely stay there again.

Great spot for a beach getaway!

The condo is spacious and super clean. The balcony is a great size to enjoy with friends. The restaurant has excellent food. There’s a swim-up bar and a beach right below. We had a great time and would definitely recommend to a friend!

Great place!

We enjoyed our stay very much! Andrew was very attentive and helpful before, during, and after our stay. The place was nice and clean. It was super accommodating and had everything we needed. The resort itself is great! Overall, we highly recommend it!

Great place to stay

Overall a great place to stay with family. The unit had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. The decor was perfect and cozy. Both beds were super comfortable. The property manager was very easy to get ahold of if we needed anything and his communication was on point. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

End of School Getaway

The resort was nice, it has literally everything in it from restaurant to bar on the beach, the store was nice, a little expensive but nice to not have to go anywhere. The condo itself was very spacious and beautiful. The views from the balcony were amazing.

Reason for 3 stars

First off, the positive is a very nice unit, very spacious beautiful big patio right on the ocean. We rented for three nights and never had hot water. I had to shower downstairs at the outdoor showers at the pool. I did let the host know, he was very responsive, he said a handyman would be out, but no one ever came. He had mentioned that other guests had complained about the temperatures in the bathrooms. I hope it gets fixed. It’s a nice place.

Short Vacation with Family

The property is very nice. Well kept, great view. Enjoyed it once we were able to access the property. Unfortunately, there was supposed to be an automated email process that the owner set up to give us access information. It did not work, so we had to wait about an hour to access the property after we arrived, while we scrambled to get the local property manager to assist (not possible). VRBO was unable to help other than to suggest we change properties "for later reimbursement" (not practical). The owner did respond to emails after we attempted other methods of access, so the problem did get resolved. Would recommend not relying on automation as it may fail - renters should seek affirmative confirmation of access details to avoid a similar problem.

Great feedback and advice. I too would recommend all guests be proactive in their stays to avoid stuff like this. I felt super bad that you guys didn’t get the communication but for some reason our guests info just stopped syncing, so weird. This is the first time this has happened to us so definitely abnormal. Perfect for Us!

It was even better than pictured. The unit itself was very clean and larger than we expected. I loved the huge patio windows and even larger patio. This unit is located on the 12th floor of a building that has 15 floors so you are only 2 floors away from the top as there is no 13th floor. If I was in the room, I could watch my teenagers at the pool or beach right from the patio. I wondered if the folks on lower floors liked that better to be closer to the ground but we bumped into a couple on the 3rd floor and they didn't like it when the bar had music playing. We could hear music on our floor too but it wasn't obnoxious and when we shut the windows, it was quiet and they shut down the music pretty early. We felt so safe that we slept with all the windows wide open. Someone would literally have to scale the building to get into our unit unless they were located directly next door and even then there is a wall that separates the balconies so you can lay out on your balcony in privacy. There is also a dining table on the balcony in addition to the lounging chairs. The property itself was clean as well and looked well maintained. The staff was friendly especially Jose at the main gate and Luis at the beach bar. Both the above ground and underground parking lots are secure as you need to have a parking pass to enter. And the parking lots are not huge so it is a quick walk to the elevators to get to your room. The property is literally on the beach. You walk passed the pools and you are at the beach. Love that!! I have heard that some of the newer properties in the area, it is not so convenient to get to the beach and/or that they do not have a view of the water. All units in this building face the water and on the backside of the property there is a view of the golf course which is just across the street from the building parking lots. There wasn't really any check in process to speak of -- no standing in lines. We went straight to room, with our new access code provided by owner, met the maid, and she gave us our blue 'owner/guest' wristbands. Do not lose these because you need to leave them for next visitors. Once maids were done, we were able to get into unit and this was nice because we were early. The owner was responsive to questions and also provided us with restaurant recommendations since we hadn't been to this part of Mexico in over 20 yrs. A lot has changed since then. I would definitely book this place again in the future.

The Unresponsive Host

Arina Loan: 1. $200 cash borrowed October 17, 2022 2. $4726.50 required to pay US cc I am very dissatisfied with the poor quality of service provided by Andrew, the host. In fact, it felt like there was no service provided. Aside from the curt and short responses I had received from the host during our correspondences, there were a host of issues that took unreasonably long to correct or not attended to at all. Upon our arrival on Oct 20th, the air conditioning was not working. After a few of the men in our group of friends came to ascertain the problem and attempt to fix it with no avail, I contacted the host to remedy the problem. It took him the following day to respond saying he will send out a maintenance person on the 21st of October. No one came and the AC was only fixed 4 days after our arrival in the 24th of October. Meanwhile we were roasting in unbearable heat. days to respond. your delayed response to our air conditioning concern has been unacceptable. That’s more than half of our stay at this accommodation. On October 22nd we were faced with another issue, we had no hot water. Again it took the host a full day to respond with an u helpful question whether there was no hot water in the kitchen. I replied there was no hot water in anywhere and the correspondence ended there. He did not inquire nor assist us any further. I decided to reset the electrical panel, which thankfully fixed the problem. Nonetheless, the incompetent and negligent way in which the host dealt with our issues is unacceptable and made for an unpleasant experience. He was crass and short during correspondences, or would ignore our raised concerns for days. While overall the accommodations were clean, tenge bed sheets, pillow cases and duvets were drenched in body oils that have not been well cleaned. The smell of body odour is quite sickening and offensive to the senses. I had reached out to the host to express our dissatisfaction with the overall experience, to which once again there was no answer.

I guess you can’t please everyone. There was nothing wrong with the hot water heater or the ac. When my guys arrived they said she was so drunk that they couldn’t figure out how to turn on the ac. They said it was set to fan and off and when they turned it to cool and auto it kicked right on. “Roasting” in Rocky Point in late October isn’t a thing. You don’t even need ac this time of year but it’s there if you know how to use it. As for the hot water the same thing I sent a tech and they said the hot water worked. The shower valves in the bathrooms are not labeled well and we’ve had the “no hot water” issue a few times in the past because they didn’t know which way to turn the shower valves. I always ask if there’s hot water in the kitchen because if there’s hot water in the kitchen they’re using the shower valves wrong and I can help with that over the phone. I guess she didn’t know how to use the kitchen or the shower valves. I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy our space. I welcome you to not use it again in the future. Have a blessed week.

My family and I had an awesome stay! The check in process was easy and fast. The condo was beautiful and clean. Everything we needed was available and fully stocked. The view from the balcony was our go to in the early morning. We can't wait to go back!

Highly recommend, amazing location for a vacation!

We rented this place for a weekend vacation with the family. We are a couple with 3 kids. When we arrived the place was clean and they even made sure to turn on the air conditioner so that the place would be cool when we arrived. The apartment is in a perfect location with a sea view, a master bedroom with a huge sliding door to the ocean. The resort feels safe and friendly. The owner of the apartment was very nice and responded very quickly to our messages and questions. Highly recommend!

We have been visiting beautiful Rocky Point for close to 10 years now and have decided to purchase a condo so we can share what we love so much with people that we love. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our little slice of heaven with everyone.

We've stayed at many different resorts on Sandy Beach and we find that Sonoran Sky is the place we love the most. It is one of the smaller resorts on Sandy Beach making it less crowded and not quite the party atmosphere that you might find at Las Palomas or Casa Blanca. It's beach front bar, restaurant, and sports bar are exactly what our family is looking for. We open a tab at the bar literally steps away from the sand, play cards on the boardwalk, sit in the shade on the sand, play volleyball, lounge in the heated pool and just enjoy our stay! The staff is so great they'll serve our kids virgin drinks or refresh our beverages without even having to get up. It's truly resort living!

Sonoran Sky is the only resort that has a beach front bar (literally steps away from the sand), a full dining restaurant, and a full sports bar along with live music right on the beach. It is common to have people from other resorts hanging at the restaurant or sports bar because their resorts don't offer what the Sky does.
