Enjoy the diversity Northern Arizona has to offer from the beautiful summer nights on the deck to adventure seeking days spent appreciating the outdoors. In the winter experience the fresh powder on the ski slopes at Snowbowl Ski Resort or take a short 13-minute drive to Downtown Flagstaff to enjoy all the wonderful restaurants, parks and community events.

Great experience! I stayed at Cristian’s home for 7 weeks. Wonderful host! The house is just as described in the pines not far from downtown flagstaff. It was very comfortable, well stocked and clean!! Thanks Cristian!!

Nice Escape from Heat

This is a cozy & pet friendly home in a quiet area. We enjoyed the cooler weather and the nice backyard. The home is clean and Cristian is a great host!

Graduation

We visited Flagstaff for a long weekend to celebrate a friends NAU graduation. Property was perfect for five adults and two small dogs. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful house and location; A

Our family (2 adults, 2 kids) spent close to a week in the Flagstaff area with this as our home base. The house has all the amenities needed, beds were comfortable, nice sitting area, large kitchen, and an ample backyard. Neighborhood was pleasant and easy to walk around in. Absolutely one of the better VRBO rentals that we have stayed at. Will definitely look to stay here again if we are in the area.

We used the High-Altitude Retreat as our base for a week of off-roading in this wonderful area, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! We traveled with three off-road vehicles, and the ample driveway had plenty of space for all of them. The home was ideal for our group of four adults (and our adventurous dachshund!).There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out comfortably, and we appreciated having TVs in every room. The backyard was great for our short-legged hound—he had no trouble navigating the few steps to get outside and explore.We love the Kachina Village location for its easy access to nearby 4x4 trails as well as the peaceful, relaxing neighborhood. The host was very attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had throughout our stay.We’d be happy to stay at the High-Altitude Retreat again on our next visit—highly recommended!

Great escape

This was a great place for us to use as a base as we explored the area of Sedona and Flagstaff. We visited our NAU student and enjoyed the mountain air. Good place to stay

Charming house

Quaint house wth a big yard for our two dogs, lots of trees, and beauty. Close to town, with several dog-friendly restaurants. More than enough room for two of us and two dogs. Would like to stay there again in the future.

Great house!

This house has everything u need! A great back deck with comfy furniture. We spent a lot of time out there - very quiet neighborhood. The backyard is fenced all the way around - to even keep our 4lb Yorkie inside - he loved it. We enjoyed our stay.

Peace on Earth

Cozy little place in beautiful and quiet Kachina village. Just outside of flagstaff proper but extremely accessible. I enjoyed this location for the fact that it's just far enough from the city that you can enjoy the calmness of the mountain.

Wonderful home in wonderful location

A cute, very clean home, located in the tall trees about 10 minutes south of downtown Flagstaff. The owner communicated perfectly. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for sharing your place.

Repeat Stay!

This was our 2nd time staying at this property. Love the location…good access to hiking in all areas around Flagstaff. Easy ride into town, if needed. Great host who is very responsive to all communication. We especially love the fenced in yard for our 2 dogs! This is our “go to” place to stay when we head to Flagstaff.

Ideal Rental

My husband, dog and I had a great week-long stay. The rental has everything you might need including local honey for your tea. It was clean and well kept. Our dog loved the fully fenced.backyard. All in all, a great place; we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again should we come back to the area.

Pleasant stay

We stayed for a few days this June and enjoyed the house. It is super clean and very tidy. At night we enjoyed the fire pit and our dog had lots of room in the large yard. The fencing is very tall so she couldn’t jump it or see dogs in other yards and bark. My son and husband went mountain biking every day following a trail up to fort Tuthill.

Comfortable beds. Had everything we needed for my 10 month old granddaughter, including pack-n-play and high chair. Beautiful backyard. We needed more propane for fire pit and grill and Cristian brought it right away. We really enjoyed our 4 night stay!

Wonderful stay!

We had a great stay! The hosts are truly great. We wanted a regular coffee maker, so I asked if there was one in the cabin, but they only had a keurig. Which was totally fine. The host made a special trip and delivered a coffee maker to us!!! Definitely wasn’t necessary or expected but blew us away! Very clean and comfortable! Would definitely return & recommend.

Remote Work

We stayed a week, working remotely and visiting our daughter who is an NAU student. Kachina Village is beautiful with lots of trails and even some migrating blue herons to entertain. We typically stay near downtown but wanted to try something new and really glad we did. The house was perfect for us and our dogs. Spent so much time on the deck enjoying the peaceful nights. The starry nights were beautiful. Cristian was super responsive and an excellent host. We won’t hesitate to stay here again. It really was a wonderful retreat.

The Little Touches

The property was as advertised with the little extras that tell you the hosts take pride and care. The cleanliness was outstanding, new equipment re: fridge, washer and dryer. Shampoo, plus conditioner, body wash, face wipes, spices, etc. The beds, pillows and linens were excellent. Plus Smart TV in each room. Location was ideal for our stay and so close to all the hiking and outdoor activities that we had in mind. I have and will recommend the High Altitude Retreat to friends and family and would most certainly stay here again.

Great place to stay

I visited with a couple friends for a girls weekend. We appreciated having three bedrooms! The ceiling fans in the home helped keep us comfortable (temp was in mid 80s during the day). We utilized the portable ac unit and the box fan to cool the living room/kitchen area. We had everything we needed in the kitchen (thanks for providing a Keurig and the Kups), bathroom was also well stocked with TP, makeup wipes, body wash, shampoo, conditioner. Very nice deck off the back yard. The linens that were provided were very nice. I love staying in Kachina Village. The trailheads for the Pumphouse Wash and Kachina Wetlands/Highland trails are accessible in the neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again.

Fall (November) Stay in Flagstaff

The rental was great for my small family of three. All essentials were provided by the rental. There is even a pack & play and high chair. The house was very clean and spacious. The wi-fi was fast enough for my virtual work meetings. The neighborhood is very quiet. The location is very convenient to the highway. Access to the neighborhood would be difficult if there were to be inclement weather as stated in the description. The roads are steep and driveway is a loose river stone. The one criticisms I have of the property is the draftiness of the rear facing French doors and kitchen window, probably only apparent for the time of year we were there. It would be an easy fix with curtains for comfort and additional privacy in the house. Overall, it was a great experience and stay.
