This past September, we stayed at John’s home for an extended weekend. My family and I had a wedding locally and needed a place to call home base as well as enjoy quality time together. Boy did John’s place do the trick!
The house is very conveniently located in East Hampton, just a short drive from the downtown areas of both East Hampton, Amagansett, and Sag Harbor as well as a short drive out to Montauk. Georgica beach and East Hampton beach are also short drives or bike rides away. The house is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, overflowing with greenery and trees! The home itself was inviting and great for our group. The kitchen looks out into a dining area and the living room, making it perfect for any social meal preparation. There are also multiple places in the home to put up your feet, whether that be on the deck outside overlooking the pool and hot tub, or downstairs on the sectional to enjoy a game or show on the projector screen! We didn’t use them, but there were also pool tables and poker tables downstairs that would have been fun! There were about 8 adults in our group and it always felt like there was space to mingle (if you’d like) but also space to retreat into your own area when you needed to regain your energy! We enjoyed many a show on the projector downstairs and also some time in the hot tub. John did a great job mapping out and decorating the bedrooms. There are several queen/king sized beds for couples/adults and also the most gorgeous twin bedroom for kids (or adults, frankly!). The downstairs master is a huge plus, as we were able to keep my parents away from any stairs. The entire house was spotless and freshly stocked with both beach and bath towels/garbage bags/ anything you could need! There were plenty of utensils, cooking tools, pots and pans, etc for preparing large meals! This was a huge plus because most rentals have the bare minimum or basics.
John himself was so welcoming and communicative. We were in touch leading up to our stay and he was always attentive and responsive. He also met us upon arrival to give us the keys and a little tour of the place!
I would highly recommend staying at John’s if you find yourself in East Hampton. It is the perfect spot for a family or group who’d like to enjoy the attractions nearby but also have some time to relax at home!
