Coastal Chic Cottage with pool

"One Oar Missing" is a, coastal chic designed cottage set within a beautifully landscaped yard in a private setting with pool,hot tub, and fire pit. 15 minutes from Topsail Beach and downtown. Cottage is 400 sf and features include queen size bed, a large walk in shower in bathroom, large refrigerator, farmhouse sink, large patio with sitting area with bistro dining table and gas grill . Pool toys and towels provided. We provide fresh flowers and a complimentary bottle of wine for your enjoyment. Celebrating a special occasion? We operate a florist and can provide you with fresh flowers, chocolates and champagne for your loved one!

The Porters Neck area of Wilmington (2 miles), features several incredible restaurants including Kornerstone Bistro, Italian Bistro, Si Senor (upscale Mexican), Cape Fear Seafood, Slice of Life Pizza, Tidewater Oyster Bar, K 38 Baia Grill and others. We are located adjacent to Historic Poplar Grove Plantation which features walking trails and ponds. We are five minutes from Hampstead.

Feel free to bring your best friend Fido to meet and play with our Chocolate Lab, Bailey and our frenchie, Woody. Bailey provides gourmet treats for her guests! Don't worry about bringing coffee. We provide an array of condiments such as sugar, creamer, spices, bottled water and toiletries. Your hosts, Jim and Will anxiously await your visit!

Dog friendly although we did not bring ours. Cottage was clean with all the necessities that we could have needed. Bed was comfy and pillows perfect. Although located on a main road it was very quiet and we slept well. Easy to get to places to eat and downtown Wilmington. Host left us a bottle of wine (yummy) and a couple sweets. Host responded quickly to all inquiries. Right out the front door is pool, hot tub, sitting area and fire pit. Only issue we had was on the 1st night in finding the address (numbers a bit jumbled on pole) and driveway in the dark but that was it. Will absolutely be reaching out for future visits.

Worked out good. I did not cook at the property. My concern was the turf condition because it rained and I didn't want to trash the place because of mud from the dog. We used the back for potty runs and I cleaned her feet when we came in, so it worked out. Unfortunately it rained during our entire stay but we still enjoyed his unit. I was able to log on to Fubo so I could watch football.

Overall good place to rest your head during vacation but the pool and hot tub both were pretty dirty and was unable to enjoy either of them, so that was a let down and unexpected

Relaxing Getaway

Cottage was welcoming and comfortable. The location was great to find places to eat. The list of places nearby was very helpful. We swam in the pool a few days as the temps were in the 90s. We spent alot of time in the cottage with the air conditioning because of the heat.

Perfect Getaway

Perfect place for a getaway! My boyfriend and I got to take bane my German Shepherd on his first vacation. The home was exactly as expected and perfect for our needs the grounds were beautiful and romantic I wish could have brought all of it home as it became my happy place. We have talked about future visits and rebooking. For us the hosts and this cottage was the perfect place. Thank you for providing such great service.

Quick beach trip.

Great stay! Good location, easy to find, and super cute courtyard. Everything we needed was provided, and the private pool was so relaxing after a long day.

Asked for a refund and never stayed

The shelves above kitchen sink were slanted down and not supported properly. They were loose. The receptacle to the right of kitchen sink was not installed correctly loose. The bathroom had dead bugs on floor and not clean. The shower had mold all the way around interior shower base. The front threshold to shower there where tiles that where lose and cracked. See pictures below. It looked like green algae on the pool walls. They advertised chic cottage is in the back yard of business, with multiple vehicles parked in front and people living within. We turned the TV on and unable to get the volume to work. Called the owner for advice and he was not helpful, resulting in leaving at 11pm with no place to stay.

Cottage near Wilmington

The property owner gave me a refund after i sent him pictures. Green nasty pool. Many broken shower tiles to stand on. The " stove" is 2 burners on top of a toaster oven kind of thing. It smelled like dogs. The weeds in the walkways were very bad.Im thankful for the refund.

The cottage was cute. Wasnā€™t entirely aware that the location is completely in a persons backyard, but it did not affect the stay. Pool was amazing, cottage was cozy and adorable, didnā€™t have any issues. Would return!

Great for a weekend

Property manager took a little while to respond to texts but overall we had a good stay. We went for the weekend. The building is like a tiny home on the back of his property. We were able to take our small dog. And there are obvious amenities for guests with dogs (dog bowls for food and treats).

Wonderful gem

This place was s wonderful stay! Almost a full size kitchen, the pool was open and the bed comfortable. My boyfriend and i spent our birthday weekend in a comfortable, quiet and relaxed place. The hosts were extremely responsive if i had questions and the place was very clean. Definately stay there again when i visit Wilmington. Thank you for the memories!

Was a beautiful cottage, looked exactly like the pictures! The cottage could have been cleaned a little better such as the shower, floors and outdoor patio area. The hosts were very kind and answered all questions. Was overall an amazing stay and we enjoyed ourselves!

Perfect weekend getaway! Lovely cottage with the feel of home. The location was awesome, everything was within 15 minutes of us. I would recommend this rental to anyone. The host was ready to get in touch with, check in and check out was easy and there was even fresh flower arrangements inside!
