Enjoyable stay

Close to everything but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. Property is large and big enough for large groups. The place is a little older but it’s well kept.

Local experience

We spent our time exploring the area. Found some excellent restaurants and some walks with amazing views. We enjoyed the space. There was plenty of room for 6 of us to be able to have our own space and to visit and cook together in the huge kitchen!

Very spacious

We had a blast in Jamaica and at this home. We had a little hiccup when we arrived at Montigobay airport. Our driver that we set up through the house forgot to pick us up. We took another bus to the location. The place is pretty big with ton of space to hang around in the living room. The small room downstairs needs some work. The window could not close in this room and it was easy for bugs to get in the room. The bathroom shower downstairs was hard to take a shower without cleaning the over flown water on the floor. The other negative part are the dogs made a lot of noise at night time. This part was annoying to some of us and my daughter who was on the first floor had a hard time sleeping in that small room. The people who took care of us at the place were outstanding. They truly want you to have a great time. Sharon who cooked for us was an awesome person. We love her! She went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best local food and even cook vegan food to accommodate one of us. If you want to rent this place, you have to use Sharon’s service. Having the pool at the house was great especially with the kids. We went to the beach and it was beautiful. Watch out crossing the street to the beach. It could be dangerous. Overall we had a great time and will come back again!

Wonderful stay at the Olcam Lodge!

We loved our stay in Jamaica at the Olcam Lodge. The house was very accommodating to our family of 8 adults. Great beaches very close to the house and only 25 minutes to Ocho Rios. Sharon and Michael were always accessible if we needed anything and were so nice and helpful. Our flight into Jamaica was delayed and we encountered some issues with the car rental agency which put us at the house about 4 hours later than anticipated. Sharon and Michael graciously greeted us upon our very late arrival. Absolutely recommend the Olcam Lodge for your stay in Jamaica.

We loved it!

We had a wonderful time and this was the perfect location. The home is very close to the beach and on a golf course. It is only about an hour from Montego Bay and about 20 minutes to Ocho Rios. If you decide to stay, I suggest you ask for Sharon to cook. We had the best traditional Jamaican meals. She cooks better than any restaraunt. Her warm welcome and kind spirit made our trip. We will be back again.

FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!

Our stay at Oclam Lodge was unforgettable start to finish! The location was jaw-dropping, backing onto the the 18th green of the famous run away bay golf course & just a stones throw away from the paradise beach that is run away bay. The staff were incredible, everything was catered for, We took our 18th month year old & ms Sharon was an outstanding hostess & we felt more than comfortable. We've already booked our second vacation for February & we really couldn't recommend any higher 'FIVE STARS'... a real must Steve & Katie (UK)

Christmas Stay

We had a lovely time at Olcam Lodge. The staff was excellent, and the only areas of improvement that I would suggest would be some of the outdated aspects of the bathrooms, and the lack of screens to help prevent mosquitoes/flies, etc. We do hope to return in the future.

Olcam Lodge is a fantastic island getaway!

2 families shared Olcam Lodge for a week just before Christmas 2012. We had an absolutely fantastic time due mostly to the gracious staff and the beautiful property. Ms Sharon made quick friends with the entire party and kept us well fed and very comfortable. Damien (Platup) kept the grounds, pool and hot tub clean and working properly all week. Our driver, Donovan was a priceless resource in getting us around the island safely. We would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a more real Jamaican experience than the typical resort-style vacation. We were able to try different cuisine, spend plenty of time on the beach, and were in close proximity to many attractions.

Family Reunion

We had a wonderful time at the Olcam villa. It was very nicely decorated and we felt at home. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and relaxed. The kids enjoyed the pool a lot. Whenever we needed to go somewhere they were there to help us and even helped us save money. We were even able to enjoy some fruits and vegetables from the property including mangoes and plantains! It was great. I look forward to going back for our next vacation in Jamaica. This was the first time we didn't go to one of the expensive resorts, and it was a much better value and a better time overall. No fighting for a space at the pool, everything was ours alone! What a way to vacation!

Would Go Back Again

We stayed at Olcam Lodge for 10 days this February and we had a lovely time! We made a last minute booking. There were 13 of us, which is higher than the max capacity of the property, but the owners were flexible and accommodated our group size at no extra cost. We had our elderly grandmother with us, so it was ideal having the fifth smaller bedroom on the ground floor for her to stay in. We loved everything about the property; the space, privacy, beautiful garden and most of all the pool which kept the children entertained. The private beach was nice also and within walking distance from the property. The photos of the property were pretty accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. We had been trying to rent a big enough vehicle for our group size and were having difficulty. The owners at Olcam Lodge helped us out with this and at very short notice. I can’t thank you enough for this! We had full maid/cook service. The maid/cook was very pleasant and arrived each day to prepare our daily meals. Sharon you are a great cook. Thanks! We felt safe in the property. The lower windows were grilled, we had access to a safe and security is provided each evening as part of the rental cost. No negatives from us. We would definitely stay again if we return to Jamaica.

Beware of Thieves!

There was a bit of false advertising when we initially booked. This has been corrected due to our complaints. The house is beautiful however we felt that we did not get what was advertised. The website listed there being three rooms with king sized beds. Well none of the rooms had a king sized bed, the largest bed was queen sized (according to US and Caribbean standards). The other rooms had full sized beds . We were not told of this beforehand and were very disappointed by this. The website also listed there being 4 ensuite bathrooms. Well this is not true either because there are only 2 ensuite bathrooms. The third bathroom is shared between two rooms which by definition is a jack and jill. Furthermore one of the bathroom doors did not lock, so you had to hope that someone on the other end would just come busting through the doors. The fourth bathroom is not even a bathroom as it is a half bath downstairs! The fifth bedroom advertised is the sleeping quarters for the maid, so you are really getting 4 bedrooms and not 5. The website lists that there is private beach access. Also incorrect, when we got there we were told that there was private beach access with an access card, however, the card was missing and had not been replaced! We had to shell out additional monies simply to get to access to the private beach! The staff also resides in the house. The maid sleeps downstairs which my Jamaican family thought was very unusual. Having owned a villa themselves, they are used to a maid coming at 8am and leaving at 5pm. Additionally, the night “security” and the “yard boy” sleep in the basement. However, they also have access to our living area through the gate. They are friendly and nice, however when going on vacation with your family, you don’t anticipate others in your living space. The worst part of all was the fact that we were robbed in broad daylight. We left to venture in the town and left my mom, dad and 2 year old nephew at home. While they were downstairs the thief came in via the upstairs balcony. There is a tree hanging over the balcony that the thief climbed on, then walked on the balcony, then broke a window (which is right above the balcony). They took my wedding ring, engagement ring, iphone, laptop, camera, and perfume. It was distressing to say the least! All in all we would not stay here again, mainly for how the management handled everything. We were refunded 50% of our rental fee, but we felt we were owed a full refund.

Wonderful!

I cannot say enough about my stay at Olcam Lodge. The villa is spacious, beautiful and very open. My group had six people and the villa is so big that everyone had their own space and made our stay enjoyable. The villa allowed us to enjoy the beauty of the island and a relaxed vacation. It would not have been so wonderful without the people we met at the villa. The cook was GREAT and the driver and other people at the villa were very accommodating. Everyone made our experience even more great than expected and the villa had a "home" like feeling. Everyone made sure we were enjoying our time and were very attentive. The beach is in walking distance and gorgeous. Local market is very close to the villa. We loved our stay and plan to come back soon. Again, I cannot say enough about our stay.

Home away from Home

We stayed at the Olcam Lodge for two weeks and it was a most pleasant experience. The staff took very good care of our needs and made sure we were comfortable. The pictures on the web site were pretty accurate and the Lodge was at one time a magnificient home, but there are some things that need to be updated or repaired but nothing that prevented us from enjoying our stay. For us the staff was the most valuable asset. There were three couples that stayed together at the Lodge and we enjoyed the family home atmosphere much more than a hotel or resort atmosphere. Even on short notice, days, the contact person did everything she could to make our stay happen which we were very grateful to her for her time and effort.

Fabulous! Beautiful! Spacious! Plus resonable rates.

We stayed at the Olcam Lodge 12.26 to 1.11.2011. The Olcam Lodge is very beautiful and spacious home-away from home- There was more than enough space for our group of 8. At times we had to remember that we were still in Jamaica. The A/C and fans kept us very cool. The staff was outstanding- throughout the reservation process and during our stay. They were very friendly and accommodating. We felt very safe in the resort community. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this property to anyone. LIKE I SAID FABULOUS:)

Wonderful holiday at Olcam Lodge

We just got back from a wonderful 10 night stay at Olcam Lodge. The property exceeded our expectations and the photos really do not do it justice. The best thing of all it that it is so peaceful and private. The bedrooms are large and in general there is lots of space, but still with that homely feel. The property was clean and clearly looked after. We were the first guests to stay in this property. The kids absolutely loved it, with all the space to play in the garden/park and my husband was delighted with being so near to a golf course. The beach was magnificent and very quiet and about 10 minutes away from the property. Hanif (the driver) was very knowledgeable about the area and even took us on a couple of tours. I would recommend hiring a car if you don't intend to spend the whole time in the villa.

My family and I have enjoyed many vacations here, creating lasting memories.

Since my father took ownership, he has spent years making several improvements to enhance the experience, including adding a swimming pool, a hot tub, gazebo and a new master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
