Great property for our family reunion! 12 bedrooms allowed all families to have a room and the shared spaces allowed us all to hang out together. It was a wonderful weekend of relaxing together!

We stayed at this home for a large family vacation and there were definitely some highlights along with a few disappointments.The location is fantastic. It’s close to town, but still peaceful and private. The house itself is beautiful, with plenty of space for a large group. We especially appreciated that all bedrooms had their own bathrooms, which made things much more comfortable for everyone.The 12th bedroom can be problematic if you need it for a large group because it does not have an attached bathroom and you have to enter it from the outside. It’s a converted garage - just make sure the guest staying there pays a little less of the share or don’t use it because it is not ideal.Unfortunately, the pool was green with algae when we arrived and had to be shocked the next day, which meant we couldn’t use it for our first full day. The floors throughout the house were dirty and many things around the house were in need of replacement/ maintenance. Washer and dryer did not work great and caused towels to have an odor. The temperature varied a lot between rooms. Some rooms were warm while others were uncomfortably cold. The owners put a solar shade on a few rooms and that did help with the temperature on that side of the house.The property has great potential and could be an exceptional rental with a little more care and maintenance. Management was responsive and friendly, which we appreciated, but this home could benefit from a bit more attention to detail.

amazing house and a great stay!

We had a truly wonderful experience at this property. It was a ladies weekend for 15, we easily could have had double in this wonderful house. It is close to town so the location was perfect! House amenities were all outstanding. We'd be back the only limiting factor is the price point since its on the high end of what we'd be able to pay.

If you want to gather a significant size group and need beds with doors for absolutely everyone, this is the place.If you want a cozy accommodation that boasts a huge kitchen, massive dining spaces and room to chill, indoor or out, this is it.If you'd like to be alone with the wildlife and view of the Hill Country, but close to wineries and shops, and groceries, this is it!Our stay was perfect here. The owners were receptive and concerned for all of our needs.No problems, just a genuinely wonderful experience.

Corporate Retreat

Our team loved the property, the pool is a nice size and the house looks like a new build. Everyone in our group of 12 had their own bedroom with bathroom which was very nice. We will definitely be back again!

Ladies Get Away

We booked the Retreat for an office ladies get away and was not disappointed. The property is beautiful and so accommodating. There was plenty of space for the 25 of us to mingle. The private bedrooms were quiet and spacious. There was an issue with wasps upon arrival but the owner was quick to get someone out to rectify the situation. We would definitely book again.

A great week in mid-June 2024

This beautiful property couldn't be named more appropriately, The Retreat. Our large family gathers every summer for a week-long family reunion. We use an open-door policy to accommodate everyone's work schedules, so we had between 10 and 23 people on different days (4 generations from ages 3 to 83). Each couple loved having their own bedroom and bathroom. We used the bunkroom for a cousin's sleepover. We loved the proximity to all of the food and entertainment nearby, but also the option to just hang out at the house, swimming, playing pool & games, visiting and watching movies. The swimming pool and hot-tub were a hit, with plenty of space for everyone; we especially loved being able to swim in the evenings. Those that didn't swim loved being able to sit in the shade on the porch and still be able to visit with everyone. We loved the open concept which made the stay very inclusive, making it easy to visit while preparing food. For shopping, HEB and Wal-mart are less than 10 minutes away. We had two members that used the office to be able to work virtually online, but also still be able to make the reunion. Our hostess, Vanessa, was very helpful and responsive when we had questions. We loved the isolation of being out in the Texas Hill Country, we had it all to ourselves without any disturbances from noisy neighbors. We were treated to watching deer while out at the pool with amazing sunsets, followed by unbelievable views of the night sky without city light

Our Family Eclipse Trip

The house accommodated all 30 of us. Love the privacy, the pool & spa were perfect to entertain all. The owner was readily available for questions. Overall, would come back again!

Incredible!!

This property was amazing! There's absolutely no other property like it in Fredericksburg. The layout was fantastic, and the place is beautiful. We have a very large family when you start including extended family and the fact that this place has so many beds/baths made everyone very comfortable. We will definitely be back!! Thank you guys so much for everything.

Thanksgiving 2023

Location. Location. Location. This place is conveniently located near everything, yet is secluded in the country. 18 of us came together from all over. The international guests flew into Austin - not a bad drive. We experienced the Balloon Festival, took an amazing wine tour with 19th Hole, had our own square dance with the caller, Wayne Weston, we took in tunes and lunch at Luchenbach, went ice skating , had German food, experienced the Pacific War Museum. We did not scratch the surface! Great place!

Great Stay at the Retreat at Fredericksburg.

We held a family celebration for our 49th (50th minus 1) Anniversary. The house and grounds are fantastic! The most common comment from our family and friends, including the younger grandchildren, was "This house is awesome!" We had a large group; 15 adults, and 7 children. Everyone had a bedroom. The en suite bathrooms in 10 of the bedrooms were ideal. The hosts were fantastic and responded very quickly to our questions. The description on the VRBO website does not adequately describe the house and amenities. On our arrival, we were amazed at how wonderful the house and grounds were. The house was very clean upon arrival. The grounds were well kept, and the furniture on the large patio was sufficient for everyone to enjoy and arranged for family discussions. The large pool accommodated several people being in the pool at the same time. It was busy every day, all day. Plenty of towels for the pool were provided by the house. The big hit, other than the large pool, was the magnificent dining room table that can be converted to a pool table. What a great amenity. I first considered that the large dining area might be too large. But it turned out to be just right for our anniversary celebration and a grandchild's birthday celebration. Great for a large group. I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay. Everyone was sad that we had to leave. I highly recommend the Retreat at Fredericksburg for any gathering, corporate events, retreats, etc.

Beautiful Property

This property is one of the prettiest I've seen. Our group was there for a department retreat and especially enjoyed the full length glass doors that can be completely opened. The sunken fire pit and the hydraulic bar window were also favorites. The beds were comfortable. Only mention I would give to future guests is that Room 12 is attached to the home, but you do need to go a few steps outside to get into the house for the restroom. That room is also warm in the summer until the sun passes from going directly into the room about noon then starts to cool down a bit, but in my opinion could use a separate air conditioner. The pool table was nice to have although it needed new pool stick tips, which they have ordered. Outdoor games were also enjoyed. I would definitely bring a group back here.

Beautiful property!

We had a church staff retreat here and it was perfect. A beautiful home with plenty of room to sleep everyone and eat together comfortably. Vanessa accommodated us by allowing us to check in early and check out late (for a fee). We hope to be back!

Perfect for Business Meetings

I rented The Retreat to host my business team for a 3 day sales planning meeting for 2023. The house was exactly as advertised and the host couldn't have been nicer. The house is very well equipped and had everything we needed. The location couldn't have been better as you are right in the middle of wine country and both the San Antonio and Austin airports! We will go back next year !

21st Birthday celebration

This property could not have been any more amazing! The pictures are extremely accurate, amazing house, views and pool. Had 20 girls for a 21st birthday and there was plenty of room , owner was beyond helpful in anything we needed. Hope to go back !!
