The house was amazing. It is beautifully decorated. The deer outside the windows were so much fun to watch. The house is super close to town and it made going places quick and easy.

this is an outstanding property! Lynn and Jerry provide an excellent house coupled with literally everything guests need to feel at home. The property is clean and fresh and the location provides great solitude! we have stayed in many VRBO properties but this is the best all around!

The cottage was very clean and there were many amenities. There were lots of deer, hummingbirds and some foxes right off the back porch. The deer came up to be fed all the time and it is very cool to watch them. Lynn and Jerry were great hosts and I would recommend this cottage to everyone. We plan on coming back around October time frame and rent it again.

The cottage was amazing. You truly felt welcome from the moment you walked in. The wildlife in the back were fun to watch. The deer are definitely used to people feeding them. The patio was awesome to sit on when not out exploring the area.

We will be back! Very cozy cottage and the dear at the fence line every morning was a surprise. The TV signal and lag time could be better, but that’s not a complaint just an observation.

Awesome property! The. House was spotless and well stocked. We had everything we needed for our stay. The back porch was peaceful and relaxing. Lynn and Jerry are excellent hosts. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to the hill country.

We love the serene back porch and daily visits from the whitetail deer and birds of many kinds! Meanwhile, it’s a short drive (6 minutes tops) to the food and shopping that make Fredericksburg the fun place it is. The hosts create a special atmosphere with seasonal decor, spotless kitchen and snacks and tons of information about the area. We love the Cottage on Spotted Fawn!
The deer come in ar dawn and dusk to enjoy corn that’s provided by the hosts. Peaceful entertainment!

Located next to a working ranch the cottage offers privacy and views of grazing deer and numerous types of birds. We spent warm evenings on the patio, cooler evenings in front of the cozy fireplace. Lynn and Jerry provide almost everything you may need, even things you may have forgotten at home. A truly marvelous experience!

We couldnt have be happier with our stay here! It was cozy, clean, and location was amazing. Close to Main street but felt like we were way out in the country. The prime example of what southern hospitality is! Lynn went above and beyond with accommodations. We initially planned to stay in January, however an ice storm hit Texas. Lynn was so kind and asked if we would want to move our dates. We did move it towards April and everything was smooth sailing.She goes out of her way with providing numerous amenities, coupons, as well as a list of free activities nearby. The cabin was beyond cozy and was perfect for a weekend getaway. I recommend not only for the quiet country views but also for the hospitality! Thank you Lynn!

I just knew when your first reservation was falling on that icy weekend, that you would not want to be out in that weather - travel in Gillespie County was strongly discouraged! A love of history compelled the owners to purchase this historic German homestead in 2007. Both owners were originally from the Panhandle of Texas, and both were lovers of antiques, so property called out to them for a full restoration, and the final step in that process was the construction of this beautiful and comfortable guest house on a private corner of the property.

Escape from your every day stresses & demands to a quiet, comfortable and luxurious Cottage with views, wildlife, and its own unique history to recharge & refresh your outlook on life! The man who built the German limestone home on this property, Jacob Neffendorf, was one of the original surveyors of the Fredericksburg townsite. Later, he returned as on of the first 120 settlers who founded Fredericksburg in May 1846. This property is on Outlot 319, as designated by the German Immigration Society, and the new owners were able to secure a Texas Historic Marker for the property in May 2012. A full copy of the research for the Marker, with photos and maps, is available for guests to enjoy in the Cottage - old world charm and history meet modern amenities and luxury on a historic German farmstead! Your visit is "contactless", and includes meal coupons!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The property contains many original components of the German farmstead - the rock-lined, hand-dug well always has water, the three-legged Aeromotor windmill is in its original location near the Cottage, a Roos block tank house with a rock tank on top supplied the two-story rock homestead with water beginning in the 1920s. The original rock lined cellar and smokehouse are on the property, too. All these unique and historic features can be enjoyed by Cottage guests, along with their spacious, luxurious quarters and their private views of the 1,500 acre ranch behind the homestead.
