The hosts were very friendly, responsive, and helpful. The place was very clean. I did think the pictures were a bit deceiving compared to how the house actually looked. The smell upstairs after using the shower and toilet was not pleasant and the ladders weren’t the safest since you couldn’t hook them to the back part of the bunks. Simple things like toilet paper holders, floor mats, and maybe nails not sticking out of the walls would make it nicer. We appreciated the place for sleep and breakfast as we were at a family reunion close-by. Thank you!

The pictures that are posted were taken by a professional photographer. Perhaps you could tell us what was "deceiving". Every bathroom has a bath mat. One bathroom doesn't have a toilet paper holder because one side of the toilet is the glass shower enclosure, the other side is a vanity and the toilet faces a tub. There is no place to mount a holder that is in reach from the toilet. Both ladders have hooks that attach to the opening in the top bunk. I'm not sure what smell you are talking about. There was no smell before you checked in and when we came to inspect the property after we could not find the smell or duplicate it. Was there a smell the entire stay or just once? If you could tell me where the nails (I'm assuming there are multiple?) sticking out I would like to remedy that issue. If you look at our previous reviews none of these items were an issue. Appreciate your feedback.

Relaxing get away

The property was fantastic very quiet neighborhood everything was easy to locate. The outdoor area was perfect and located centrally for activities.

Wonderful Time

Property was clean and beautiful.My 84 grandmother had a great time as well, with a bedroom and bath on the entry level for her.The outdoor areas were beautiful and peaceful. We brought our boat and had a great time on the lakes with it.

Loving Fox Lake

My family (and dog) had a fantastic trip to Fox Lake and the stay at Scott's house was perfect. It's right on the lake with a little dock that my dog loved to swim off of (it was too muddy/mucky in the channel for my kids to swim there but a beach and park were in walking distance). The house is as advertised with plenty of space and areas to relax. We had a great stay and look forward to returning!

Great house, great location

The host was excellent with communication. My family and I ( 7 people) booked this for a weekend at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. We enjoyed the location, the gathering spaces were big enough to accommodate all of us. We enjoyed the kayaks. The neighbors were friendly too!

Fun house for group

My college roommates and I had a great stay at this cute house. The family room with the big sectional was comfortable and we loved sitting on the deck with its view of the water. If you plan on cooking much, note that the oven is a bit small for anything too big.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the property. I am disappointed by the rating though. This is a lake house and the majority of renters spend most of their time outdoors and not cooking gourmet meals indoors. In the years we have rented this property we have never received a 4 star rating. Especially shocking is that the missing star is based on the size of the oven. We have rented it out for family Christmas and never a complaint. In the future we will let people know that the oven will not accommodate an oversized baking dish or large turkey.

Wonderful Family Reunion

We had a beautiful 5 night stay. The home was well stocked, clean and in a very nice area. My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock. The deck and patio were great for relaxing and enjoying the view. We had a nice evening down by the fire pit one night, and enjoyed the full moon and the sounds of the tree frogs.

We planned our stay with the sole agenda of spending our time on the lake, going by boat between our daughter's dock and this rental. An ideal vacation for a boating family and it was the very first thing I messaged the host. After arriving, we learned our plans would be upended. There is no place to dock a boat or to even disembark at the property without wading through a murky channel. Why the listing caption says "Kayaks, Boats Welcome" is beyond me. Quite disappointing! Additionally, the home didn't seem ready for us. First noticed on a pitch black night was the lack of working lighting on the steep stairs & uneven walkway to the door. Then add on the fact the ice maker doesn't work, the oven is filthy, the dishwasher needs rinse aid, the glass shower doors are covered with water spots... whomever did the final walk through missed obvious shortcomings. Lastly when I contacted the host to ask where I was suppose to dock a boat, and learned "no where on this property" he suggested there had been a miscommunication. I suggest that he never read my introductory note to him. That rang especially true when he said "I would have told you to make other plans." I was eventually texted a location down the way where I could put the boat and told I could walk through the neighbor's yard across their grass as long they don't mind, they are seldom home. We are frequent vacation home renters, 2026 stays 37 nights. We have left many positive reviews, just can't this time.

Beautiful property!

Our stay was great! This place is beautiful! Absolutely LOVE the sunsets from the backyard! Everything went well & communication with the owner was super easy! No issues at all! Will definitely rent this place again in the near future!

Gem on the Lake

Our family really enjoyed this home! Home has everything you will need during your stay! Plenty of room for a large group Both indoor and out! Scott was a pleasure to deal with and Very attentive to any of our needs. Great Lake accessibility and wonderful surrounding area with plenty to do! Our 13-year-old loved being able to fish off the dock. GREAT Lake house to make memories and enjoy some relaxation! We would definitely book again!
