Enjoy your stay at our fully renovated Farmhouse situated on 3 acres. Spacious, garden covered and beautiful shady trees line the property, leading you down to a beautiful view of where river meets ocean. Next to the rustic barn with the tin roof, you will often be met with eagles as they come to sit on their perch overlooking the water. The house was fully renovated in Spring of 2022 and was renewed to much its original beauty. Boasting open beam ceilings and original plank floors, the Little Dutch House (original owners came over from the Netherlands in 1953) is ready to show off all of the updates to those looking to have a relaxing vacation on the Northumberland Shore. 5 bedrooms include 2 king beds, 1 queen and 2 doubles. Full bathroom is completely updated. Laundry on site. Pets welcome with pre-approval upon discussion. Guests will be provided with a full brochure on what to see and do while in the area. Don't miss out, you'll love your stay at The (not so) Little Dutch House!

Perfect farm house stay

The large property worked perfectly for our family get- together in Pictou. The patio, firepit, and large kitchen were fully utilized. I don't know how you did it, but the weather was perfect too! Everyone had a wonderful time!

Fabulous Family Time

We just loved The Little Dutch House. It was central to so many sites, and in and of itself it is a beautiful location, lovingly maintained and equipped. We are a family group of 8, with some of us living in New Scotsburn and the rest from various parts of Ontario We spent a wonderful week exploring and reconnecting. Would not hesitate to stay here again. My thanks to Dawn who could not have been kinder!

Family reunion

The property was better than expected. We were there for a family reunion close by and this property was minutes away from everything. We enjoyed going into Pictou and had seafood at some great restaurants. The children tried fishing but the tide was heading out so it was too shallow. Lots of oysters so not good for swimming but close to some beaches if you wanted to swim. Dawn was an awesome host and was easy to contact. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

October Getaway

Beautiful House

Our group of friends had an excellent stay! Five beds and separate bedrooms upstairs were perfect for our group as well as a big open concept kitchen, large dining room table and comfortable living room. I would definitely come here again and recommend it to others.

Northumberland Strait Vacation

We really loved our stay at this farmhouse in Pictou. The property is beautiful and the house was well stocked with everything we needed. It’s a great home base close to all the nearby beaches and the host was a great communicator. Our family is hoping to stay again in the near future, highly recommend.

Beautiful vintage home

This older farmhouse is as beautifully redone while still retaining its classic charm. A great location along the water with a variety of outdoor seating. The host was friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. I would highly recommend it for adults or a family.

Best family vacation!

We had a lovely family vacation at the Little Dutch House! It was incredible. The decor and style of the home was stunning. Can’t wait to show off the pictures. It accommodates a large group without anyone having to bring an air mattress or sleep on a couch. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautifully, spacious and comfortable!

The Little Dutch House is charming, airy and spacious and situated on a lovely large landscaped property. The house was generously outfitted with kitchen essentials, books, games and toys for children. Dawn and Jason are gracious, accommodating hosts.

Beautiful spacious property

Beautiful spacious property with lots of room and wildlife (the eagle and deer visit daily!) Our host was so kind and very helpful and attentive:) We had two families of 4 stay here with enough room for us all. Gorgeous morning coffee views. The interior was a beautiful modern take on an old farm feel. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Dutch house

It was a great place to stay at with my family. There were 10 of us that stayed and the size of the house was great. 2 full bathrooms would have been better for sure. Dawn was amazing and very helpful and thoughtful ❤️ i would definitely come back

Wonderful vacation at the Dutch house

This house takes you back to a time when things were simpler and nature closer. Our kids were curious to discover old objects and learn how life used to be in our grandparents time. Every detail of the decor is meant to make you feel welcome and pampered. Thank you!

Weekend Away

Little Dutch house is a perfect spot to get away for a couple days with a few friends. The outside property is perfect for washer toss, croquet, bocci ball etc.... tons of space. Inside the house you will find everything you need. Kitchen island is always the main hangout space at any Maritime gathering and this was no exception. Multiple bedrooms allow for many guests to be comfortable. This was our second year booking at the Little Dutch House and will be booking again for next year.

Home away from home

The place was perfect! Right from the front door, you felt right at home. So bright, clean and welcoming! Plenty of space for everyone, inside and out. Special touches let you know, much thought went into preparing the home for whoever comes. Spent plenty of time outside enjoying being together in the sunshine, (plenty of grass to play frisbee, badminton or throw the ball for the dog! That was a plus! ). The view of the water was beautiful and the eagle that showed up for everyone to see. Overall our stay was the best! Would come again and stay longer next time.

Beautiful oceanside farmhouse

We had a wonderful time staying at this farmhouse. The communication with Dawn was wonderful from the start and she made sure to deal and respond quickly to our many questions and requests! We even asked if they had a BBQ and they got one in order to help accommodate our stay! The location and landscape are outstanding here. The views of the ocean were stunning, and the property itself has much to offer with plenty of place to play games, find some apples, watch the beautiful eagles soar, and let those dog zoomies out. Finally the house itself is really beautiful - it offers a lot of space and rooms, comfortable beds, a very well equipped kitchen, and a great living space overall. We felt right at home here. Do not hesitate to book this space!!
