Superior Sunset Getaway

Enjoy beautiful sunsets over lake superior from the back door. With 150' of water frontage, but access to about a mile worth's of shoreline you can relax with walks along the beach, sitting by a fire or grilling in the outdoor space.

There is also a trout stream that flows into a pond where the local kids and resident bald eagles enjoy fishing.

This 2 bedroom 2 bath home is located 15 minutes from Houghton.
The space
Our little piece of heaven has a one bedroom on the main floor and full bath. Upstairs in the loft are two queen beds, a sitting area and another bathroom. Six guests can comfortably enjoy the space.

No A/C is needed with the cool Superior breeze. There is infloor heating to keep your feet warm in the winter.

There is no cell phone service, but wifi is available. If your cell phone allows for wifi calling, the wifi will support it.

There is a Roku available for you to login to your services, in guest mode it will automatically log you out. No standard TV is available, but who needs it when you are surrounded with the beautiful outdoors that the Keweenaw has to offer.

You'll have access to the cabin, but the garage on the property is locked.
Guest access
All areas of the house are available except one closet under the stairs. Guests will access the home via a keypad with a personal code.

Beautiful house in a superb location. We enjoyed the sunsets so much that, rather than going out to eat, we brought in carry-out from local restaurants. We highly recommend this jewel of a find on the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Lovely family getaway

This is a really beautiful house -- both inside and out. The furnishings are attractive and well-made. The house offers great views of Lake Superior; we watched a phenomenal sunset over the lake one night. Highly recommended.

Our second time to the beautiful property... and the sunsets are Superior! Great area with local eats and shopping nearby and some great locations to visit within a hour's drive. Excellent experience overall.

Anniversary Getaway

Lovely lake home with everything necessary for your stay. The kitchen is well equipped for any type of meal prep. We enjoyed eating at the table in the outdoor cooking area. Viewing sunsets from the swing on the beach was amazing! Great location for a Keweenaw adventure.

Perfect!

We had the best getaway at this location. The house is comfortable, exceptionally clean, and had everything we needed. The outdoor space and view is incredible. We enjoyed fires by the fire pit, grilled dinner more than once and had a relaxing experience. We would book again without hesitation.

Clean and beautiful!

This home was incredibly clean when we arrived. The home is beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and the beach and firepit were so relaxing. I kind of assumed there would be a hair dryer, so didn't bring one, but got by just fine. We will definitely stay again!

Perfect getaway

Beautiful home with a fantastic view of Lake Superior. The house has everything you need for a week away. Location was also perfect as we came up to visit our son at Michigan Tech- it was only about 15 minutes from campus. The owner was extremely quick to respond to any questions, overall were quite pleased and would certainly stay here again on our next visit to the area.

Unbelievable Stay at Superior Sunset Getaway

Our stay at Superior Sunset Getaway was incredible! The property was unbelievably clean, one of the cleanest VRBOs we've experienced. The outdoor space was perfect for relaxing and enjoying sunsets. Despite its remote feel, it's only a short drive to Houghton. The house comfortably accommodated our family, and the loft area was a hit with our kids. While there's no cell service, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing, scenic retreat and can't wait to return!

Wow!

This is the first VRBO we've rented that was presented exactly how the property actually looks. No fancy camera angles, this place is even better than the photos! And the house was clean - absolutely clean. The beach is gorgeous, and the beautiful double bench swing perched on the sand was the perfect touch for a sunset evening. Everything about this place exceeded our expectations!

Quiet, remote, scenic

Beautiful property and view of the lake from the house. Short walk to the beach. A pond between the house and beach. Loved the black sand, the crashing waves, and all the beach flotsam (beach glass, driftwood, pebbles). A great blue heron was a regular visitor, along with two trumpet swans, a variety of ducks, sea gulls, and woodland birds. Ted, the host, was super responsive and helpful.

Sunsets on the Beach

Our group: Family of 5 + Grandma Our trip: early July We had a wonderful stay! There is nothing like exploring the Keweenaw! It was amazing to be right on the lake, yet not far from town. The beach was great for walking and swimming and perfect sunset views. If you have kids, just remember you're on Lake Superior and it is going to be cold and gets deep very fast, so be safe! Our kids had a great time! The house was comfortable and had all the necessities. The provided fans helped keep things cool enough at night.

Clean! Very nice amenities

I have very bad allergies so don't like staying anywhere besides home, definite 5 stars for cleanliness, I didn't have any reactions! Location was 45 minutes from Agate beach and the drive to Copper Harbor was about an hour and 15 minutes of picturesque scenery; our favorite spots to visit. We went in April and it was still a little chilly so we didn't have a chance to enjoy the outdoor areas at the home, but this house was impressive inside and out. After rock hunting on the beaches this time of year the toasty warm gas fireplace was a real treat! Loved it! Hosts were responsive and helpful.

Lake Superior Sunset

Wonderful home right on Lake Superior. Perfect for two couples or family of four. Extremely clean and very comfortable beds. Everything is new with all you need for an extended stay. Wifi works great at the house, but no cell coverage in the area (at least for Verizon). Very quiet area about 15 minutes from Houghton. The beach area is a very short walk from the house and has a great bench swing to enjoy the lake (beach fire and sunset). Stayed in late June. Bugs were not too bad. Just be prepared with clothing. Great place to relax and enjoy northern Michigan at its best!

Superior in every way!!!

Exceeded expectations on all levels - the picture's really don't do it justice. Perfect views of the lake. It's setback a little but is beach front property with easy access to literally miles of adjacent sandy beach and even a private swing on the beach to cozy up and watch the sunsets. The house has a spacious open layout with comfortable beds and couches and was unexpectedly warm and cozy even with strong chilly winds - this is not a drafty rustic cottage! Possibly the most striking thing was how clean the house was, absolutely immaculate! I swear it was like the house was hermetically sealed and we were the first people to ever stay there - for Pete's sake it's on the beach but not a speck of dust or sand to be found! I would highly recommend and definitely stay here again!

Awesome place!

Very clean and modern interior with all the necessary items for an easy family getaway. The host prepared everything well and it made for a pleasant stay. When our kids got sick of seeing waterfalls we were able to come back to the cabin and watch a movie on the big comfortable couches and it was very cozy with the gas fireplace. Would recommend.

Superior Excellence

The house was clean and comfortable. A short walk to Lake Superior provided beautiful views and we were lucky enough to catch some Northern Lights. The fire pit was fun and relaxing. Will definitely look into staying here again. The owner was helpful and informative.

Perfect stay for Anniversary!

This was an awesome location for exploring the upper peninsula on our 15th anniversary trip. We loved the beach views and sunsets. The house was clean, and just as described. Ted was great to work with, and even provided great restaurant & hiking suggestions. 5 stars!!!!

Weekend getaway

My wife and I enjoyed our time here. From the walks along the beach, the quietness of the neighborhood, dark skies at night to the convenience of local dining & shopping less than 25 minutes away. We hope to return again.

We fell in love with the Keweenaw as my wife and I attended Michigan Tech. We try to make it back as much as possible. We have adventured throughout most of the area and can give great advice on where to go and what to do. From the many beaches of Superior to hiking and of course where you might want to grab a bite or a drink. There is so much to explore in this great part of our country. We want to share that experience with you. Our goal is your satisfaction so if there is something you need just let us know.

We found this property and fell in love with the location and the secluded nature of it. The westward facing beach and large lots provide what feels like miles of solitude. The home is cozy and somewhat centrally located in the Keweenaw. This allows for trips to both Copper Harbor and the Porcupine Mountains.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We have been travelling in the area for over 20 years. We visit ourselves around 4 times a year and look to find new things each time. We love to share these experiences and will build you a custom guide to the area complete with Maps links, so you know where you are going. Just ask and we are more than willing to help.
