Laurie was always available to chat before, during, and after our stay. I enjoyed the history of the house. When we went for a walk down in the beautiful neighborhood one of the neighbors told us all about Dotty.

Great time in Chico.

One of the best times of my life!!!!! My family made the trip up from the Bay Area to see Chico as my partner did back in her college day's. We got lucky when we found this amazing house. Thank you guys for such an amazing place and great time. We will definitely be back and will pass this location on to our family and friends.

Beautiful setting

Good location and we enjoyed our daily morning walks around the neighborhood. Our favorite aspect of our stay was lounging in the backyard looking at the glorious redwood trees while listening to the waterfall! (And fun frogs croaking at night) The views from the comfortable upstairs suite were a bonus!

Retro reunion

Definitely a retro feel in an older neighborhood but a well built, well loved house. It was very comfortable and well equipped. Loved the landscaping and the hot tub. Would have loved the pool but it was too cold to get in. Would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Get-A-Way

House is extremely dated not at all luxury and it is located in a questionable neighborhood, my son who lives in Chico and is a police officer was concerned that we rented a home in that area as it is known for criminal activity. The pool was cold, hot tub were both dirty and unusable. The home had cameras on the back side in areas where a guest would expect privacy, specifically on the back side of the garage facing the hot tub and pool area. The oven poured smoke out of it when turned on to preheat and the smoke detector in the kitchen failed to go off even though the entire area was full of smoke due to an excessive amount of old food and spills in the bottom, the pots and pans are in extremely poor condition with teflon peeling and chipping off, the few stainless ones had old food and charred debris left on then. The kitchen drawers cabinets are full of old food crumbs and dirt the kitchen is in desperate need of a deep clean. The carpets and area rugs smell musty and there is a faint smell of urin they could use a steam cleaning as they are dirty and some of the areas appear to have pet stains The few bath towels that were left for us to use had holes and stains, which after check out I was accused of stealing, and then charged for. I have never been accused of anything like this in my life and all my previous experiences as a VRBO guest I have been given 5 star reviews. It is extremely hard to believe that this home has not received poor reviews in the past.

Perfect place to stay with family

Our family had a great time swimming, relaxing in the hot tub under the redwood trees, playing cornhole, grilling, and enjoying the beautiful property. This home is located in a nice neighborhood and is close to a store. The bedding was comfortable and the home was stocked with everything we needed. Thank you for a great place to stay.

Comfortable home

Beautful yard and pool. Redwood trees are amazing. Everything you could want in a vacation property. Very quiet, a lovley oasis. Brought our dog and the property was perfectf for her also.

Another Great Stay at Dot's House

We had a great time during our second stay at Dot's house. The house is clean, well maintained, has a great backyard and is in a wonderful, quiet neighborhood. Laurie is super responsive to any questions or issues that come up -- you can tell that she and her family care about the property and want everyone to have a great time there. My family is looking forward to another stay at Dot's house next summer!

Tranquil Chico home

Dot’s house is a dream and the owners/manager were great to work with. The house was immaculately clean, everything we needed was provided and in excellent condition, and the outdoor pool area was serene. The beds were amazingly comfortable too. We will definitely be renting Dot’s place again soon.

Perfect stay

Dot's has so much character, we loved it! Just sad it's already booked for graduation at Chico State or we would booked again. Sarah was great and so nice of her to meet us at the property and get everything going and questions. My family was so happy with the great find as well. A fantastic family home!

Perfect house for a family gathering!

We loved the spaciousness of the living room/kitchen/dining area, the comfort of the bedrooms, and the overall aesthetics of the house. The kitchen was well organized and met all our cooking and dining needs. Although it was winter and we couldn't use the pool, we still enjoyed the quiet natural surroundings--and the hot tub!

Great Chico Property -- Highly Recommended!

My family had a wonderful time staying at Dot's house in August 2023. The house was clean and spacious, and the outdoor space is fantastic (pool, lounges, indoor-outdoor game room, etc.). It's on a very quiet street but also not far from downtown Chico and places like Safeway and Walgreens. We recommend it without reservation -- we're looking forward to staying there again during our next trip to Chico!

Lovely Space

Our weekend stay in Chico at Dot's Place was lovely. The home is spacious and comfortable. We loved the thick plush carpeting and the comfortable bedding. The location was great - about a 5 minute drive to downtown, but in a neighborhood that was very quiet and felt charmingly secluded. We didn't spend anytime in the pool/hot tub, but the backyard space looked highly inviting. We would absolutely stay again!

Beautiful house with big back yard paradise!

We loved the house. Lots of space for everyone.The backyard is especially nice with shaded seating, a beautiful swimming pool and hot tub. I loved staring up at the redwood trees while soaking in the tub. The house was supplied with everything we needed. Very comfortable and clean.

Beautiful Home, perfect for families and friends!

We rented this beautiful home for a birthday weekend getaway. The entire process was easy and communication was excellent. This home is centrally located for downtown dinners and events. Amazing backyard, with hot tub…living room fireplace made for a cozy Friday night. We loved it here and will be back in summer when we can use the pool! Highly recommended!

Relaxing Home

This house had all we needed to enjoy some family time. The fenced in yard is huge, the pool was delightful in the hot weather, the hot tub is big and access is easy to everything. The beds were extremely comfortable, the place was clean and the garage space is an added feature for older kids to hang out or family entertainment The location was perfect close enough to Safeway, but still out in the country feel The big u shaped leather couch held all of us and we enjoyed access to several movies and shows We BBQed or went out not using too much of the kitchen appliances, but everything we did use was good. Totally enjoyed and relaxed at this home

Chico wedding

We had such a great stay at Dot’s house!! This house is even better than the pictures online!! So many small touches that bring comfort, rest, and joy. They literally thought of everything. Super comfy beds, awesome cozy ambience and space to hang out and visit. The area is beautiful as is every view—even from the upstairs shower! Amazing. If I ever need to stay in Chico again, I will book here again.

First and foremost, Dot’s is truly a custom home on one of Chico’s favorites streets only 5 minutes from Downtown. Everything about Dot's has been curated for the distinctive couple or family seeking a unique experience to gather and entertain. 12 towering redwoods, a custom pool and spa, a theater, corn hole, darts, Webber gas BBQ, outdoor fire ring with propane heat lamps, 3 giants TVs (1 outdoor on the patio), a community park directly next door and Chico Creek directly across the street are just some of the features to enjoy during your stay. The interior renovation of Dot’s called for new carpets, paints and oak floors, new air conditioning, new appliances, new furnishings, dishwater, flatware, barware and kitchen accessories. Virtually no stone was left unturned to provide our guests with the best experience imaginable. Dot’s 8 custom stained glass pieces by Chico artist Mick Needham add to the special character of the home. Upstairs in the giant master suite our guests will enjoy a king bed, hotel linens, outdoor patio, spa soaking tub and custom tile work unseen in current modern construction. Everything has been done to make your stay a memorable event at Dot's. Lastly, Dot's player piano is still at the home with lots of classics, showtimes and favorites for you musical enjoyment.
