Kanaloa at Kona 2906 is a luxury 1600 square foot oceanfront condo that is built on an ancient lava flow from the Hualalai shield volcano that last erupted over 200 years ago.  It has a spectacular west-southwest ocean front facing view.  There are 2 full master bedroom suites that ensures privacy for two couples.  There is also a third smaller bedroom, powder room and 3 separate lanais that get cool ocean breezes.  It has a full kitchen with breakfast nook.  It is supplied with all of the necessary utensils, appliances, place settings and drink ware. The unit has 3 split zone air conditioners.  There are ceiling fans in each room.  Vaulted ceilings, skylights and tiled floors throughout brings a bright airy feel while an in unit washer/dryer, wi-fi and cable TV throughout provides convenience.  The west facing living room lanai showcases an amazing ocean view with beautiful sunsets every evening.  Necessary beach supplies are in the lanai closet for your use.  If you don’t feel like going to the beach, there are 3 pools, tennis and pickle ball courts and library on the resort property.  Currently, 24 hours will be automatically scheduled between reservations to allow additional cleaning time.  Please note the following: This is a second floor unit and there are no elevators. Aloha! This was a wonderful stay. Beautiful ocean views, amenities (we often had the pools to ourselves, pickleball was great and never crowded), plus beach and harbor visits in walking distance. There was a few minor things that came up early on and both the owners and manager were very responsive. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The location is ideal. The condo is well appointed and everything is well labeled. Kanaloa is the perfect location for quick getaways for ocean adventures etc. The resort grounds are peaceful; the pools are great when you're in the mood for a freshwater dip.

This condo is lovely! You couldn’t ask for better views! It was clean and well stocked and the hosts were very responsive. The amenities at the location are also nice. Just be aware that there are lots of stairs if mobility is an issue. Also, the primary floor bathroom with a shower is in the main suite on that floor so if you’re using all of the bedrooms the primary suite on the main floor will have to share their en suite bathroom for showers.

The place is definitely as advertised and we had a great visit. It is really well set up for two couples as there are two master bedroom suites with good separation from one another. Loved the views and enjoyed the communal pools and BBQ facilities.

Favorite condo in Kona

We had an incredible stay! This was our 2nd time in Kona and 2nd time at Kanaloa, but this condo is truly outstanding. The views are stunning, sunsets especially, and the space is even bigger than it looks. We saw dolphins off the balcony every morning, and manta ray snorkelers every night. Highly recommend and would happily stay again! Thanks again! A few things to note, which were not at all problems for us but others may want to keep in mind: - A flight of stairs to get into the main door, another flight of stairs up to the main floor, and a 3rd flight of stairs to the master bedroom. - The small bedroom doesn’t have AC. If the door is left open, some air from the other side of the condo can make it in there, but it’s definitely warm. - The complex sprays for pests monthly (liquid spray on all tile surfaces inside, takes a few hours to dry), so those with little kids may want to be aware. - If a late checkout is available, the only option allows guests to stay until 4pm for an additional half-day charge. But there’s lots to do if you check-out like normal. - Beds are super comfy and kitchen has everything you need. - Tons of great beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, and toys! It’s normal to only be given enough TP, paper towels, etc to get you through a day or two, but there are stores nearby and in town.

Our stay was absolutely amazing!

The property was perfect for making unforgettable memories with our family. From the breathtaking views to the cozy, well-kept accommodations, everything exceeded our expectations. The VRBO had everything we needed from basic stuff like beach towels, bathroom accessories, to beach toys. We enjoyed every moment! Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience.

Beautiful View!

The views from the deck were incredible! The condo was very clean and organized. The beds were comfortable too! It was a perfect place for two couples as both primary rooms have their own bathrooms. There is a shopping center nearby that you can walk to for groceries, restaurants and coffee. The entire condo complex is well maintained and beautiful. We look forward to staying here again!

Fabulous!

We brought our adult children for a 10 day stay. Everything was wonderful! You will not find a better view. Everything was clean and well appointed. We had one tiny issue...reached out to owner and it was taken care of right away.The location was also perfect for us. I would not think twice about renting this condo again.

Great place to stay.

We stayed here for 6 nights in May 2024. The condo was beautifully furnished, clean, and comfortable. The view of the ocean from the balcony was awesome. We liked the condo complex and the area. I contacted the owner once to ask a question. He quickly responded and was super nice and helpful. My family and I had a wonderful vacation here and would like to stay here again in the future. Great Choice!

This was the perfect home base for our family on the big island. Much quieter than the resorts to the north and much easier to access services (grocery store, etc). Still easy driving distance to beaches, volcanos, and other points of interest. There are differences between the units, we found 2906 to be well appointed and a great location in the complex. Chuck & Tina were easy to work with as well as the on-site staff.

This family trip consisted of 3 generations from kiddos to grandparents. We had a wonderful vacation in this beautifully maintained 3 bedroom condo. It was perfectly clean, well stocked with plenty of amenities and highly organized. Communication was clear and timely. Check in / check out was a breeze. The resort grounds were gorgeous. There are stairs to navigate if mobility is a concern. Would definitely return in a heartbeat and hope to do so soon! Thank you for your opening your ohana to our family! Mahalo and aloha!

Everything was perfect! Great communication, amazing condo, perfect location. The condo is super clean and has literally everything you need. Fully equipped kitchen, lots of linens, paper goods, washer/dryer, detergent. The storage closet on the lanai has all the beach gear you need - umbrella, cooler, chairs, beach bag, sand toys, snorkels, flippers. Pickleball paddles and balls, tennis balls, even some golf balls and tees… this place has everything! The view can’t be beat. The condo is oceanfront - expansive views and waves crashing on lava rocks. Very close to oceanfront pool but the building in between means you can’t hear the people (kids) at the pool! The main lanai is spacious, and there are additional lanais off the bedrooms. Air conditioning units in king bedrooms worked wonderfully for cool sleeping. There’s also one in the living room. The property is beautiful - oceanfront pool is lovely. Great location - out of the bustle of Kona. Easy access to the Captain Cook area - great restaurants down there with less of the upcharge you get in downtown Kona. We loved Reel Aloha Poke and the smoothie place next door! From the condo it’s a very short drive to Keauhou Bay where you can book some adventures like night snorkeling with manta rays (the “manta ray village” is right there in the bay so it’s just a few minutes on the boat) - we thought the folks at SeaQuest were genuine and lovely. Overall this condo is top notch and the location is ideal! We loved every minute!

Perfect Family Stay

This beautiful condo was perfect for our family of four. Morning coffee with an ocean view from the lanai was our favorite way to start the day! We enjoyed each of the three pools, but the ocean view pool was the spot to watch the sunsets. The grounds were clean, lush and secure. Good size rooms and bathrooms, and the split a/c units worked well. The smaller 3rd bedroom had no a/c but it did have a ceiling fan. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was even beach and snorkel gear provided. This condo added so much to our wonderful trip!

Great spot!

Our favorite feature of this condo was location! It had a beautiful, unobstructed view of the ocean and was close to many great beaches and snorkel spots (even a hidden one within walking distance). We loved having access to pools, although we mostly frequented the "ocean pool" located right next to the ocean. We had two families staying there (4 adults and 3 young children) and had plenty of space. The only downfall was that the bedroom with the single bed does get pretty hot in the evening and it was difficult to get any kind of breeze or AC back to it. The two master bedrooms had no problem with temperature control. Despite that small hiccup I would still recommend!

Sunsets in Kona

This condo was perfect place for us to enjoy the Big Island. Everything that we needed to make this our home away from home! The sunset views from the patio were the best ever and morning coffee watching the waves crash on the lava was perfect. Only one minor issue with the living room tv was fixed very quick with just one phone call. Enjoied having the cooler to pack picnic lunches for our road tirps exploring the Island! The ability to do laundry was also a huge perk! Really enjoied our stay in unit 2609. The check in and check out was super easy and everything was just like the listing in the add. Grocery store and supplies were just down the street very easy to get to also short ride into town. I would highly recommend this unit for anybody that is looking for the perfect spot to explore the Big Island!!

Excellent Stay

Our experience renting this condo was fantastic. The communication right from booking to leaving was some of the best we have experienced and we have rented dozens and dozens of houses or condos over the years. The condo itself was exactly as advertised and the pictures on the website were a perfect depiction of what you will get. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook 2 meals per day. The 2 main rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The 3rd bedroom is small and the door needs to be left open to get AC in there. The view from the balcony is exactly what you think of when you think Hawaii, the sunsets are truly magical. For our purposes the condo was in a perfect location for the itinerary we had planned. We visited in October and the property was relatively empty so the pool was a lot of fun to visit. I would not hesitate to rent this unit again in the future or to recommend it.

Lovely condo in relaxed setting

This is a beautiful and spacious condo that puts you instantly at ease and settles you into island time. Everything was clean, tasteful and well appointed and the ocean front view is astounding. We spent nearly all our time on the large lanai looking out at the water. We appreciated the lovely decor and there was not a thing we needed that was not there for us. The hosts were fast to respond and very helpful with great communication. The grounds are well cared for, quiet and relaxed, and staff were friendly, helpful and seemed content. We loved that there were three pools - the ocean pool was great for socializing (and everyone there was friendly, too) and watching the sunset; a quiet pool for lounging in peace and yet another pool if the others were getting busy - none were! There was just a nice mix of space, greenery and gorgeous blue. Since we are blessed to get to island hop a lot we get to see a lot of properties, and this one is perfect for relaxation, family time and base-camp for activities outside of the fray of the busier tourist areas. Also, it is right next to the manta ray swim. Just book it already - you will not be disappointed!

Uncomfortable and tight. It is a small unit. The furniture is very uncomfortable. Many windows lack curtains or blinds, allowing sun to stream in impede viewing laptops. Bedrooms have no interior chairs. The add on charges 5 or 6 of them are outrageous. The parking stall is barely large enough for an SUV. Would never recommend this unit to anyone.
