My initial room was unacceptable due to a strong musty, dirty carpet smell as soon as I opened the door. I immediately called to ask for another room which they were able to provide in a similar area of the property. I booked a balcony studio, and not sure if the first room actually had a balcony as I didn’t stay long in that room. The replacement room only had a window, perhaps that was a downgrade? The Studio room is similar to a standard hotel room with the addition of a toaster, microwave and large mini fridge which also had a small freezer - a welcome amenity. A 2 piece place serving of cutlery and dishes was also provided which was helpful for breakfast. On the positive side, the summer price was great, staff were excellent, the bed was comfortable with nice duvet and pillows. The 25 yard lap pool, recently remodeled gym, and the natural desert setting were nice. However, the negatives outweighed the positives: the new room still had a slight dirty carpet smell with dirt patterns in high traffic areas. My white socks were almost black on the bottom from being in the room without shoes. The toilet paper and Kleenex were low quality and rough. It was inconvenient to enter the pool and fitness center from the back instead of the main entrance and the floor of the fitness center was very dirty, the restrooms by the pool were very dated (being remodeled), and the pool decking was flaking in several areas. I would only return after more extensive remodeling has been done.
