Do you need a big place ? Door County Church Restored to a Beautiful Home

Door County has been named the Best Family Vacation Destination in Wisconsin as well as one of the Top Ten Vacation Destinations in North America by Money Magazine. Most recently it has been named the Best Wisconsin Romantic Getaway by Wisconsin Magazine. In the heart of Door County is the Village of Sister Bay which is on the bay side of Door County. This is significant because if you like boating, swimming, fishing or just beautiful sunsets, the bay side is the place to be. Sister Bay has lots of shopping, restaurants and water activities as well as a huge marina.

Very close to the village is Maple Manor, a beautiful 2 acre estate with a historic church that has been transformed into a beautiful home. The great room is 27' x 47' with a beautiful fireplace and several sitting areas. Off this room are 4 bedrooms all with their own fireplaces and whirlpool baths. The large eat-in kitchen is also off this extraordinary room. Upstairs are 2 more bedrooms each with their own whirlpool baths and each with their own staircase. The basement has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with walk in shower, big screen TV, pool table and shuffleboard table.

This is a perfect home for a large family or several couples who enjoy traveling together. It is truly an extraordinary place to stay.

There is so much to do in Door County that you just can't fit it into 1 week.

Maple Manor was awesome and perfect for our family reunion. Tons of space for people to gather and spaces for people to enjoy quiet time too. The kids loved the downstairs game/common area. Adults loved the first floor common spaces - living room w/tv, kitchen and dining areas got used for playing games, talking and meals. Kitchen was very well equipped, though it didn't have kitchen towels handy, so we supplied some of our own. All the equipment needed to prep and feed our group of 17 adults and 5 kids was provided. Loved the 2 keurig machines! All the bedrooms and beds got used - everyone loved having their own private bath with the bedrooms. Maple Manor is well situated near town, had plenty of parking spaces - 10 in the parking lot, super indoor and outdoor spaces. Dan was great and very responsive to any questions. We would highly recommend Maple Manor to anyone, and if we come back to the area, we'll book this place again.

This property provided wonderful spaces for our family to share time together talking and playing games as well as areas for alone time when needed. We found everything we needed in the kitchen for preparing meals and snacks. The number of bedroom options was perfect; everyone had comfortable sleeping arrangements with pleasant temps and easy access to a bathroom. The location of Maple Manor offered an easy walk to the beach and shops in Sister Bay as well as access to highways for trips to explore other Door County locations including Washington Island and Cana Island.We did have some concern over the door not always "auto-locking" after 5 minutes; thus, we started locking it ourselves when leaving.

The pictures don’t do it justice!

We went up to Door County with our extended family for a celebration and we had a wonderful time! This property and house were beautiful! It was hard to tell from the pictures just how big it was. Once we got in there, we were amazed at the huge living room area, and we almost got lost deciding on our rooms. There is a large kitchen and supplies for large parties like ours. The rooms had more than enough blankets, pillows and pads, so that the kid cousins could do sleepovers in each others’ rooms if desired. Every room had a little different layout so we were all able to find rooms that worked best for our families. The outdoor area was large and allowed for lots of outdoor football and bonfires. Kids and adults alike had a blast outside. The house is just a 0.5 mile walk from downtown Sister Bay. We took many walks down there and got to enjoy the various shops and restaurants. Gary was easy to reach and very helpful with any questions we had. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay at Maple Manor again!!

Perfect for large families

Gary was very proactive and responsive with his communication. The home was clean and beds were comfortable - wonderful to have so many bedrooms that felt like master suites with own private bathrooms! Kitchen set up was absolutely perfect and did not feel crowded. So nice to have two large dining room tables to accommodate everybody - highly recommend!! Thank you Gary!

Family reunion spot

We had a great time, everything we needed in the kitchen for big meals. Close enough to walk into town without being too close, no noise, felt like we were rural. Nice fires every night.

Clean, beautiful rental for a group.

Enjoyed a work team get-away, work day, and team building weekend. Host was responsive and went above and beyond. Plenty of space for our team to break out, spread out. Large dining room table made a great conference room space. We appreciated the available network printer for a few documents we needed to print. We may return next year if we are able to get away.

Wonderful Sister Bay Getaway!

We (a group of 7 women, over 50) thoroughly loved this property. Each had our own very nice bedroom (fireplaces and jacuzzis in most) with private bath. Plenty of space to gather but also to take a break alone. We did crafts in the dining room, yoga in the living room, and had a wild pool tournament in the basement! The Kitchen is very functional and nice . We used the fire pit many times. The location (Sister Bay) is ideal too - close to nature, shopping and lots of restaurants. We had one maintenance issue while we were there, and Gary immediately sent someone to take a look (within 20mins). Just an overall lovely property - fun area, especially for a girls trip - and responsive owner - you can't go wrong picking this beautiful home!

Big house for a big group. Priceless!!!!

Maple Manor was absolutely perfect for our big group. Loved everything about this place. Location, size, bathroom in most bedrooms was amazing. Outdoor firepit with wood for days made our evenings extra special. The only thing I would suggest is more bath towels. One per person was tough. We had to get more. Also the locks on all the doors on the outside caused some problems opening them. Gary did get back to me quickly with the codes to open them. I would recommend this place to anyone with a large group. Maple Manor was perfect for all 18 of us. Never felt cramped. Everyone had a great time.

perfect for families

This house is perfect for families, had 3 with 7 kids total and everyone loved it. the kitchen was great for cooking, big family room and basement for hanging out, and yard for running around. fire pit for smores was a big hit with the kids too. being about a half mile from sister bay was a plus too, side street 1 block way takes you right to the beach/ playground. owner was really easy to get a hold of too, had a question about bike storage and they responded right away, even called us proactivly just to see if we needed anything. would highly recommend this house!!

70th birthday celebration with family

There were seven sisters, one son and daughter in law, and 3 brothers in law. Wonderful roomy bedrooms for everyone. Loved having the large patio and firepit. I cooked prime rib and salmon so was pleasantly surprised with a very well equipped and functional kitchen. We all enjoyed our 3 days and highly recommend it to others.

Wonderful place for reunion!

We had a group of 6 couples (originally 7 but 1 canceled) and 1 widow. We all had our own bathrooms in nicely appointed individual bedrooms. Plus there were lots pf gathering places, as well as places for the introverts to find a little quiet time. Wonderful kitchen for preparing big meals and lots of dining space. Also walking distance to some shops and restaurants! We loved it!

Wonderful accommodations, spacious and clean.

I rented for a family reunion. Maple Manor was really spacious, lovely bedrooms with private baths, well equipped with kitchen utensils and appliances, yard games, printer with WiFi, superglue. You name it, it was there. The rooms were clean and the location was so easy and convenient to downtown Sister Bay. I would highly recommend to other guests needing accommodations for a big group.

Joyous Family Gathering

There were 4 couples (1 with a 3 and 6 year old), and 2 singles. We walked into Sister Bay for shopping, dinner, fireworks, drinking beer, a boat ride. We watched birds from the back deck. We cooked meals in the well appointed kitchen and ate on the back deck. An abundance of bathrooms was great. We may never get back to Door County, but if we do, we know where we will stay.

Family Reunion in Door County

We plan an annual family reunion to get 4 generations together under one roof (ages 1 year to 100 years). Maple Manor was a marvelous choice! The location is a quick walk or drive to the main shopping/eating section of Sister Bay. We enjoyed many hours outside on the patio and lawn, playing games graciously supplied by the hosts. The house is absolutely lovely and spacious. There was a bedroom and bathroom for each family, a wonderful accommodation! There was plenty of seating areas in the great room, and the piano was a big hit with the classical music fans in the group! The kitchen is well stocked and cabinets/drawers labeled for ease. We all had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

I have been vacationing in Door County for 2 decades. We purchased a condo at the Scandinavian Lodge in Sister Bay several years ago. Maple Manor has incredible vibes, as anyone that has stayed here will tell you.

Maple Manor is in a great location in town, Sister Bay. This home was formerly the Sister Bay Baptist Church. The previous owner completely renovated the inside but kept the original exterior look.
We can walk to town for coffee or walk to the beach. It is only a short walk for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We believe Sister Bay has some of the best restaurants in Door County.
Family and friends enjoy having a private bath with whirlpool tub in their bedroom. All of the bedrooms are roomy with sitting areas, writing desks and fireplaces. The 3rd floor tower is a great place for solitude and has a great view of the village. Everyone enjoys the views from the great room and kitchen area.
The lighting in the great room is spectacular at night. The beams and bookcases are illuminated. The sky and clouds are painted on the great room ceiling which is 25 feet high.
Sister Bay is in the heart of Door County and Maple Manor is in one of the best locations on the peninsula. Our home is an inviting and special place for anyone that visits.
