Newly remodeled in 2020, this beach house has a bright and modern flair. You'll not only get an authentic feel for the casual, relaxed life-style in Del Mar and you'll also enjoy expansive blue and white water ocean views! The upstairs of the 2-story property has been completely remodeled, and boasts a new gourmet kitchen, Wolf stove included. Fantastic sunset views can be enjoyed from the upstairs decks. A ping-pong table room in the downstairs is a favorite among family and friends. This home provides plenty of space for fun and relaxation. Located just 6 houses from the bluff overlooking the quiet local's favorite beach at 7th Street and a short 8 minute walk into the heart of Del Mar, the location can't be beat. Quiet, peaceful, convenient, CLEAN and casual!

Make it a couple's getaway or bring the family - either way, you'll feel right at home! In the completely remodeled upstairs you'll find 2 bedrooms, a new bathroom with walk-in shower, a great room with north and south expansive white water views, dining area, a gourmet kitchen, living area, plus an outdoor deck to enjoy the ocean breeze and beautiful sunsets. The backdoor patio on the ground level has seating for relaxing, outdoor dining, or barbecuing-propane grill provided. The downstairs newly remodeled bedroom area has separate secured entrances via the backyard patio from either a sliding glass door into bedroom or adjacent bonus room door. The downstairs bedroom area is quite roomy and includes a queen sized bed, large desk/chair, couch and flat screen TV. In addition, a separate bonus room sits adjacent to the downstairs bedroom, and includes a ping pong table and an adjacent seating area with 2 couches. The bonus room is a converted garage, and it has a garage door that can be opened from the inside. A separate newly remodeled bathroom with walk-in shower is also located next to the bonus room downstairs. The lower bedroom, adjacent to the bonus room, is perfect for teenagers. It also provides privacy for work. Please NOTE the downstairs bedroom and ping pong table room are accessed from a separate entrance outside in the backyard, so may not be suitable for younger children.

No pets allowed.
Please note there is a security video camera located along staircase leading to upstairs main entrance as well as in front driveway.

This was our third time staying at this property, and we continue to be impressed with its upkeep, cleanliness, and convenience. The kitchen is well-stocked, it has all of the necessities for the beach (e.g., towels, chairs, cooler), plus updated outdoor space where you can watch the sunset over the Pacific from the deck. The pingpong table is a bonus! Plus, it's walkable to the beach, restaurants, and shops in Del Mar as well as close to hiking, golf courses, and other San Diego beaches. We definitely hope to visit again.

Great ocean view in comfortable modern space

This is a very comfortable property with a commanding view of the ocean from the second floor living room, kitchen, and dining areas. It is very clean and quiet with no street noise. Several houses down is the top of the cliff overlooking the ocean, and a ten minute walk away is the beach and the shops/restaurants of Del Mar.

Perfect beach house at perfect location

Our family had a wonderful vacation parking our car and spending the ten days walking to the beach, walking to all the fantastic Del Mar dining options and watching some of the Torrey Pines golf tournament. The house was perfect with separation between our son and his girlfriend (in their 20s) but also giving us becautiful sunsets over dinner every night. Highly recommend!

Excellent Property / Perfect Location

An ideal location for spending time in Del Mar. 1 block from beach and a few blocks from town made this the perfect property for a family getaway. The property was nicely appointed and clean. Kitchen had modern appliances and was well equipped with everything needed to prepare meals. Hosts were easy to reach and delightful to speak with. We will definitely be back.

Definitely amazing ocean view

We loved this house! It was roomy and comfortable. Kitchen and pantry was well stocked with equipment and extra spices, oil, flour, etc. Beds were very comfortable with nice sheets and lots of pillows. I especially loved sitting on the deck enjoying the ocean view. The patio was very large with lots of chairs and a nice gas BBQ. It's also within walking distance of restaurants and coffee shops. A great place to walk!!

Excellent Views and Location

Helpful host with a clean and functional house with great views and location. The house did get warm in the late summer afternoon and the downstairs is a converted garage (with an actual garage door as a wall) and only accessible from the outside.

Great view and location

Great views of the ocean and a location just a few houses from the edge of the cliff, and a short walk to the beach, are highlights of this property. It is impeccably clean, well-equipped, uncluttered, and with very comfortable beds. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful without traffic noise. The owners were welcoming and available.

Orphan Alley

The view of the ocean is stunning and the deck is lovely. Kitchen/living area is much smaller then depicted in the photograph. Kitchen dinnerware is scratched and chipped. Kitchen heater grate is rusted. Downstairs space is awkward, possibly dangerous, with steps to bedroom and bathroom. The home was not particularly clean, needed dusting.

Great spot and Great accommodation and view. Race track is 8 minutes away, 15th street a 10 minutes walk. We live at the beach, so we chose wisely.

Very relaxing

Staying in Del Mar was so relaxing in this wonderful beach house. The views of the ocean are amazing! Everything was so easy to get to, we were able to talk to the beach and walk to restaurants. It was perfect for our family of five. The host is kind, friendly, and helpful.

Beautiful Property

We had a lovely stay and our hosts were very accommodating. The beds were comfortable, and the renovations nicely done. Having a separate lower level was great for the older children, and the ping pong table in the garage was a hit! The property is close to the beach, but you do need to be fairly agile to make it down the cliff to the water. We went down multiple times during our stay, but just note it is not a straight walk out to the beach. The sunsets and view from the upper level were amazing. We stayed in August and it was a little warm at night, but ceiling fans were helpful and it probably wouldn't be an issue most of the year. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay at this property again. Thank you to our hosts!

Three generation family stay

Short walk to beach and restaurants. Beautiful sunset from balcony. Property in very good shape. Property is divided in upstairs 2bed/1bath/kitchen/social, and downstairs 1bed/1bath/social area. Please beware that downstairs room does not connect to upstairs internally. It worked great for us as small kid slept upstairs with parents and grands used the downstairs.

Two spaces for the price of one!

I rented this property so that I could have my daughter, her boyfriend and their friends all come on a fun end of the summer vacation. The main part of the house was great for all the ladies while the downstairs was perfect for the young men. It was like having two apartments for the price of one! It made it easy for some to stay up later than others. FYI the boyfriend proposed and she said yes!

We love Del Mar

This place was just a little piece of magic. Great location, incredible views and perfect size for a small family. My husband and I stayed here with our 7 year old daughter for a week and it was just perfect. We loved watching the sunsets at the end of everyday, walking to breakfast every morning and the walk to the beach. Del Mar is our happy place and this house did not disappoint! We’ll be back!

Fantastic Beach Escape

Clean, modern home with fantastic ocean views and walking distance to everything! We had a nice, relaxing time. Was nice to have the ping pong table and patio area but the stunning ocean view kept us upstairs most of the time. Would highly recommend.

Del Mar House

We really enjoyed Gail’s Del Mar Beach house. The house had everything we needed and is in a great location. My teenage son really loved staying in the downstairs part of the house. The listing is accurate and Gail was very responsive. Definitely recommend!

This property is west of Camino Del Mar (the main street going through town), and on the south side of town. It's a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking and public access to the beach for those up for a moderate hike down a bluff trail. Easy access is an 8 min walk. We love the beach nearby for it's pristine beauty and non-existent crowds. The surf is great too!

Location, location, location. We love the location of our house. Walk into town for coffee or dinner, take an evening run on the beach, grab a quick surf or swim. Relax!
