Upstairs unit of a stacked duplex with a View

Whether you are going to the beach or want a place while you find that right home in Del Mar this is your place. Just steps from the beach. Some Ocean views from your living room windows.

Kitchen – supplied for you to cook indoors or bring everything outside to grill on the outdoor deck. The Outdoor deck and grill is dedicated to just your use

Parking – 2 spots, a big deal when you are in the heart of Del Mar.

Washer and dryer – yes, shared with downstairs but can arrange for specific days for just guest in 1811.

Outdoor shower – yes, no need to bring the beach in.

1) Bedroom – queen size bed with connecting bath.
2) Bedroom - queen-size bed with jack and jill bath that opens also to room with Twin beds.
3) Bedroom – two twin beds, one with a trundle to pull out if 3 are sleeping in the room. Beds can also be pulled together to make a King (see Pics for example)

Beach gear– beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels, surfboards, wetsuits, boogie boards, and 3 beach cruisers (bikes).

Great location, with parking! Rooms were great for our family of 5. Beach access right down the road. The deck on top floor was great for hanging out and eating. Steven has plenty of boards to use. He was very helpful! We will stay here again!

Del Mar beach house

Had a great stay in Del Mar. House is right across the street from the beach. Chairs, towels, and anything you need for the beach is provided. Lots of space and great parking. Loved everything about this place!

Incredible location and wonderful stay!

We stayed here for a week over New Year's (2024-2025). The place is perfect - it was impeccably clean, very well outfitted with everything we could need and the location is fantastic being a block off the beach. The owner is very helpful and was available for any questions. We hope to come back again and again!

Great location!

We had a wonderful stay - the location couldn’t be better. The bedrooms were big. Lots of gear and toys for use. The hosts were very responsive and super friendly.

Great time at the beach

Our family really enjoyed the stay at this beach house. The location is great, a block from a beautiful sandy beach and with good sunsets. We found the house clean and well equipped with everything needed - beach towels, an outdoor shower, even some wetsuits and surfboards. The host was very accommodating with a folding table for WFH and toys to keep kids occupied. Appreciated the dual coffee makers to keep the k cup vs standard drip maker debate alive. We would be happy to return next time we are in the area!

Best location in Del Mar

Great location - one block from the beach, walk to everything - restaurants, shopping, even the track. Funky, retro vibe, well equipped with lots of beach gear, very comfortable. Host was very communicative, even compensated for slightly delayed check-in. We hope to return for another stay.

Disappointment is an Understatement

This house is in need of a complete renovation and cleaning. The upkeep is very poor and I am questioning how they were able to list on VRBO. Every time we have rented from VRBO especially in Del Mar, we have had such a positive experience except for this rental. There is no air conditioning which is understandable but absolutely no ceiling fans and all the fans provided were dirty and dusty which is why we all probably got sick staying in this home. The kitchen cabinets are from the 1950's, the refrigerator sticks every time opening it. Only 2 burners worked on the cooktop and the faucet on the sink was so cheap, I thought it was going to break. No disposal in the kitchen. The jack and jill bathroom cabinet fell on my foot the first day because it isn't properly placed, sinks wouldn't drain and neither would the bathtub which is beyond gross. The tub was so slippery it was concerning. The jack and jill doors in this bathroom were so poorly installed it was difficult to open and close. The patio was very dirty and the furniture is all broken. We almost fell through the chairs. The washing machine ran poorly and cycles took forever. The money they charge a night comes along with a certain expectation and they did not meet that expectation. We were so disappointed on many levels. In the past when renting, it has always been by a management company which is professional and takes great care of the property. This is run by the homeowner who comes and washes loads of laundry while staying at the property which was weird and awkward. I am not sure who wrote the reviews we read when deciding on a rental but we would never rent this place again or recommend renting it in the future.

Terrific location!!!

The best feature of this property is it's location just steps from the beach, a few more steps to Jake's, and an easy 10-min walk to the center of town. In addition, the host was very responsive, met us to let us in, and answered all my questions about what to do in the area. The top unit, where we stayed, has a small view of the ocean and lots of light. The street in front is very quiet, and we enjoyed watching the surfers park each morning. However, it is smaller than it appears (aren't they all?), but we fit in five adults and a dog just fine. The decor is definitely more seaside shabby chic than urban sleek. The plumbing and fixtures seem to be original to this sixties-era (i'm guessing) unit, but they mostly worked fine. The shower has great water pressure! Once we found the softer pillows, space heaters, etc., we were happier. It is a nice, laid-back cozy place, good for pets and kids, and the only way the location could have been better is to be right on the beach, an option we could not find.

Delightful Beach Getaway

We had a wonderful beach week at this property. It was an ideal spot with grandparents and small kids age 4 and 6. There were lots of beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, body boards to enjoy the beautiful Del Mar Beach which is our favorite beach anywhere. The outdoor patio was a lovely spot to enjoy meals. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great spot to enjoy a beach vacation.

Another great stay in Del Mar

This is our second time renting this home - stayed in both units. Had a wonderful time. You cannot beat the location for this price in Del Mar. The house is in walking distance to everything that you need - including the beach. I had my 7 year old with me, easy walk back and forth to the beach throughout the day. The house has all the gear included, great wifi and direct tv for relaxing - we can’t say enough great things about this spot!

Wonderful stay

Wonderful location and great property. Steven is an excellent host and the property had everything we needed and more, including boogie boards, wetsuits, and beach chairs. The property was clean and spacious for our family. I highly recommend staying here and we look forward to coming back.

Perfect Beach House

Steve's beach house worked perfectly for our family as we celebrated my son's wedding in Del Mar. The location was ideal for our events as well as proximity to the beach and nearby restaurants. The house was clean, quiet and very well equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen and for the beach. Steve even brought some extra toys for my little granddaughter. I would highly recommend.

Can't beat this beach location

We had a terrific holiday celebration and visiting family got to stay at this prime beach location close to restaurants and shops in Del Mar. The place was well equipped with lots of beach gear allowing us to maximize fun. Very comfortable and lots of towels which were greatly appreciated!

Our Favorite Del Mar Beach House

We love Del Mar, it's our beach town of choice in Southern California. We've stayed at several different homes in Del Mar and Solana Beach, and Steve's place was by far our favorite! It's just steps to the beach and has all the surf boards, body boards, bikes, beach wagon and sand toys you could ask for! We stayed in the upstairs unit and had a great rooftop deck to enjoy our meals and hang out. The inside is wonderful with floor to ceiling windows, comfortable beds and lots of pillows and nice bedding. So many towels you'd never need to use the washing machine if you didn't want to. Steve is cool and very helpful. Ultimately, we greatly enjoyed our stay and have decided that when we come to Del Mar, we will 100% want to stay at Steve's place.

Epic beach Rental

Steven's property is perfect for the Del Mar experience. The walk to the beach is just across the street and one block away and all the Del Mar restaurants and shops are a pleasant walk through the best of Del Mar. Th amentias are all provided - all you need to do is show up. We will be back in the future.
