Supportive host. Cool and eclectic home with great amenities. We built the best fire ever in the outdoor fireplace. Our grandkids loved it.

Lovely and charming historical house. The beds were comfy and the many bedrooms gave a place for the girls to retreat at the end of the night. Disappointed the weather turned rainy and cold because the outdoor space is splendid. Would love to come back and enjoy the home again. Hosts were also a 10 out of 10 in communication.

This was my second stay at Waddill Cottage. This was a girl’s trip and we enjoyed the awesome outdoor space. The house is so cozy, has a great kitchen and very comfortable beds. It is so close and handy to the downtown Square and all the great shopping there. I would recommend this house to a group of eight or less for a fun weekend trip or a longer family getaway!

This beautiful cottage has the charm of yesteryear mixed with everything you need to relax and enjoy your visit. The beds were top notch & extremely comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped for creating delicious meals, and so many little extras are found in every room to add to your comfort. So many great options for enjoying the outdoor oasis this home offers. The hosts, John & Alisa, are very attentive, accommodating, and want their guests leave happy. Don’t miss your chance to make some great memories here!

The house was just darling! Beautifully decorated with designer touches in every corner. The home is comfy and inviting. The outside space was really nice. I was staying for a girls shopping trip. We all agreed the house had happy energy. I would definitely stay again. Really lovely!!

Overall, this house was the PERFECT spot for a girl weekend for a group of thirty-somethings. The pool was refreshing, and perfect for an afternoon listening to music, drinking cold beverages, and getting some sunshine. Our hosts were responsive & kind.The house was well furnished and had plenty of space for us to each have our own areas. It was close to downtown McKinney which had cute stores, coffee shops, nightlife, and ice cream. We had a lovely weekend catching up and relaxing.

The place is amazing! So well decorated, had everything we could possibly need. Beautiful inside and out. The pool is the PERFECT size and the outdoor area is amazing even in the summer heat. Perfect for our family stay!

Girls Getaway

Everything we needed to have a memorable stay-cation. Love the neighbor and proximity to downtown McKinney. Comfortable beds for everyone with extra quilts for comfort. Large island great for meal prep. Hours spent sitting around dining table surrounded by adorable window shutters, beautiful antique pieces and chandler! It was pretty hot (Texas in August) so we didn’t sit on porches too long but would be a great gathering place other times of the year. Three generations of ladies felt pampered all weekend…:)

Booked this home for a little girls staycation and it could not have been more perfect!! Communication with the hosts is easy and prompt from booking to check out. The house itself is so well decorated it doesn’t feel like an empty rental, it has a cozy lived in feel and made for the perfect backdrop for our girlie pop weekend. The house was big enough that we never got cabin fever, utilized every inch from the porch swings to the pool, front porch to the spacious gazebo. The kitchen was well stocked, even had an infusion pitcher perfect for sangria, baking plates for cinnamon rolls, plenty of coffee grounds to get through the mornings and cups for the pool and cute photos. We played card games on the spacious dining table, lounged in the living room and watched movies when it rained, sunned in the pool while watching the cardinals feed their babies in a nest in the gazebo. My favorite part of this trip was drinking sangria on the front porch watching the neighborhood with the girls during a thunderstorm. The beds were absolutely cozy, the AC worked well, the check in process was easy and we had absolutely everything we needed for an absolutely memorable weekend!

Great for families!

Fantastic place. Beautiful old-school-cottage-like house. Old timey light fixtures, decor, etc. Very comfortable though. Everything works great. Wood floors, big kitchen. All the beds very comfortable. Then there’s the outside patio area… BOOM! Fantastic, plenty of seating. Can’t say enough about that patio area… really takes the place over the top. Pool is pretty small (you won’t be doing laps in it) which was great for us because we have 3 grand babies that all need floaties, so the size of the pool made it easy to keep all the kiddos corralled. But the pool is plenty big enough for everyone to get in and cool off in the Texas summer (we stayed for July 4th). Also: there is a small gate that surrounds the pool area that the little ones can’t get through or climb over. This makes grandma and grandpa very happy! Overall, LOVED the place.

Girls weekend

This was the perfect house for our girls weekend in McKinney! We were able to walk to downtown for the farmers market and lunch and then had a nice relaxing afternoon out by the pool! We would definitely stay here again!

Birthday celebration

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waddell Cottage!!! It had everything we needed for a girls weekend-so much character and charm! The pool was perfect for cooling down, and the outdoor area was fantastic! Being so close to downtown McKinney was a huge plus. We are planning on returning to Waddill Cottage in the future.

Weekend stay for family wedding

Photos show the beauty of this property accurately. I absolutely loved the home layout, decor and outdoor amenities. Location is excellent. Communicating with the owner was superb. This listing will forever be a family favorite, 10/10 will stay here again!!! A home I would love to own!
