Apartment 1 on Belmont St.
We found the apartment to be comfortable and safe. The listing said that it was a low income area which was true but we felt safe and had no unpleasant encounters as we went back and forth to our meetings at the Indiana Convention Center. Johanna was quick to respond to our requests.

Stay away
Property was cancelled as I looked to check in. Ruined my trip as I now couldn't walk to where I wanted to be. So it tripled my cost, plus had use UBER as know I couldn't walk. VRBO put me up 2 nights in hotel but after that was on my own. I would not recommend this property as they obviously don't care about customer. I booked this out a month out ahead of time.

Poor communication and lack of information
It was so so. I wasn’t told there would be construction going on so I didn’t even stay. And the host never answers calls and takes HOURS to reply to you a sold 2 of 5 stars in personal opinion. The property was spotless but the lack of effort from the host is what made the experience terrible

Uncomfortable stay
Several factors led to this staying being generally unpleasant. 1) The host changed the address too late to find other lodging. While she provided a partial refund when she requested this location change (which I thought was appropriate and made me okay with the new address), she ended up requesting additional money the day before the stay (before sending check in information). Unfortunately, the location I ended up in felt unsafe. As a young women staying alone, I always try to be cautious when selecting accommodations. I had a 2 block walk from the bus stop to the house, and in this short span in broad daylight I was aggressively approached by a man in a car urging me to get in so he could give me a ride. He continued to follow me slowly for a block until there was a construction road block and he couldn't follow me any further. 2) The unit itself smelled strongly of cleaners and natural gas. There was a window fan unit that made this manageable. 3) Towels were dirty/had stains on them 4) The morning I was leaving a cleaner attempted to come in (just loud knocking) before the check out time. This startled me given my experience in the area. 5) Lastly, the host was extremely confusing to communicate with. She sent me others' check-out info and mixed up requested stay dates.
Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

No dull moments in the neighborhood, we will say that it is diverse, multicultural, and going under urban renewal. The home is close to many locations to visit in under 10 minutes! Stores, churches, Public Library, park/pool, yummy restaurants. This place is in an urban area but we have always felt safe in our area and had zero issues. We love the diversity that comes from living in an urban neighborhood but it may not be for everyone. You will not be refunded if you decide on the day of your arrival it’s not for you; that’s a loss of time for an able guest, we recommend you get travel insurance for protection!
