Plumeria Cottage offers a vacation of ease indoors and out. Compact yet perfectly proportioned in the vintage beach style, it is a delightful combination of convenience and charm. And, with a roomy, sunny lanai and large shaded grassy yard, it becomes quite spacious. An outdoor-shower room with laundry and plenty of room for beach items and for drying wet towels and bathing suits keeps the indoors comfortable and relaxed. The nearby shoreline access is a short walk away. The cottage also has air conditioning.

There is another home on the property occupied by our long-term tenant & his dog. He will be very respectful of your privacy & quiet enjoyment of the home during your stay.

Puako Paradise

Second time staying and will be back for a third. Clean, comfortable, quiet and well stocked. 4 minute walk to excellent snorkeling. Lanai is spacious and outdoor shower is a treat.

Unbeatable location, so well-stocked, great outdoor space (especially the shower) and totally fair price for the holidays. Would return in a heartbeat. Can't recommend highly enough!

Beautifully appointed.

This place is better than described or photographed. Lots of nice amenities and ample supplies of everything you might need. Lovely and comfy bed and linens. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower! Snorkeling and sunsets across the street was amazing! Only thing that would be great to add is bicycles! We will be returning!

Amazing and perfect cottage

I came for a conference and did not want to stay at the hotel ,boy did I make the right choice ! This cottage is absolutely charming and quiet,well stocked with everything you need to have a wonderful time! We cooked outside most nights and enjoyed different beaches every day. Lava Lava Beach club and the Hale bar at the Fairmont were really nice and both close to the water. We will definitely be back ! Thank you for sharing this wonderful property!

My favorite thing was the outdoor shower, and oh the bed was super comfortable. Well stocked kitchen which I appreciated a lot.

Plumeria Cottage

Loved everything about this place! The location is great. We walked across the street to watch the sunset every evening, always a stunning show. The house was easy to live in, equipped with everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the lanai which looks toward the ocean. There’s beach equipment, and the beaches are a very short drive from the house. There’s also a park at the end of the street where you can get in the water if you’re on the more adventurous side. The property managers are welcoming and responsive. This is our second time at Plumeria cottage and we hope to stay there again the next time we’re on the big island.

Lovely Puako Cottage

Reviewer Comments: Cottage was even better than pictures - beautifully decorated, super-clean, well stocked (plentiful beach and snorkel gear and even a coffee grinder). Convenient location. We walked 5 minutes to snorkel at one of the best spots on the Big Island. You will enjoy the outdoor shower! AC in the bedroom makes sleeping very comfortable. Cottage gets warm in the afternoon, but we were outside at that time most days. The large lanai is perfect for morning coffee and grilling dinner. Mary was very helpful. Quickly responded to a minor issue. Cottage is a great value for a couple. We will be back.

Unbelievable, truly a magical stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I highly recommend staying at the Plumeria Cottage if you are looking for a laid back experience away from the busier touristy locations. The cottage is located on a quiet residential street steps away from the ocean. Although the beach directly in front of the cottage is not ideal for swimming due to the volcanic rocks, it makes for an amazing sunset experience. It was also a popular place to see the sea turtles, so many! We enjoyed using the BBQ on the lanai daily, be sure to pick up your meat from Waimea Butcher Shop to support local and have unbeatable quality beef. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more with a well stocked kitchen, beach supplies, and toiletries. The outdoor shower was amazing with lush trees overhead. A few of our favorite things including grabbing poke bowls at Da Fish House and eating on 69's beach, hiking Pololu Valley and stopping at Gill's Lanai for the best fish tacos afterwards, and catching Kozy's Magic show! Truly and unforgettable trip, we are already looking to book our next stay at this amazing cottage.

Quiet community, peaceful spot

Perfect Plumeria

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wow! What a perfect place to stay for two people. The location is on the Kohala coast and is ideal - close, easy access to multiple beaches with great snorkeling, sand, and beautiful sunsets. The cottage itself is extremely clean, comfortable, and well stocked with everything you need and more - outdoor shower and bbq were great! In fact, there wasn't one thing that was lacking, and quite the opposite, supplies were bountiful, which is rare with a rental. The location on a quiet street was close to some nice resort communities including Mauna Lai (5 min. down the highway) - golf, food store, a few shops, black sand beach, and the excellent restaurant "Canoe House." I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone who wants a quiet and private place to chill and to launch from to have tropical fun. One caveat that has been mentioned in other previous reviews, the cottage can get very warm from 2 - 5 PM (after 5 is very pleasant). There are fans which help, but the bedroom is air conditioned (we called it "the cooler") allowing for "escape" if, for some reason, you're not out and about during that time frame. The property management (Mary) made sure to check in a couple of times to see if we were happy - thanks Mary. Final words - a great place to stay with great value!
