Fantastic location and accommodated our family of 12 quite nicely, however after making our full payment amenities that were listed began to fall by the wayside. Non working oven, non working dishwasher, exercise equipment no longer available etc. Had several email conversations expressing our total disappointment, but were told by management that repairs/ replacements take time in Kauai, OK, then perhaps a bit of compensation should be considered and discussed. They had my full payment for what originally was a fully functioning vacation rental and no offer of refunds to look elsewhere. Experienced a few hiccups during our stay, skylight in unit above garage had been compromised allowing birds to set up encampment between roof and ceiling chirping and scurrying around disrupting those sleeping in the unit. Management did send out a crew to seal off the issue, but don’t believe got all the birds removed prior to closing off. Deadbolt on front door over our stay became an issue, was very hard to engage the deadbolt or unlock unless you lifted up hard on the handle. Outdoor deck chairs were in poor condition limiting use of deck table for dining. And the true kicker which was never mentioned in any reviews, the stinking crowing roosters that go off at all hours.Our time together as a family in Kauai was awesome despite our issues with rental, sense this property has real potential to meet the price point with some meticulous TLC to wear and tear and better detailed maintenance.

A gem in paradise

Paradise inside and out. Comfortable and accommodating, this home became our home away from home. Although not on the beach, we found a trail that took us to a special tropical paradise, away from traffic and people. Whether sitting inside with a cup of coffee, or outside with a pina colada, this house afforded comfort at every turn. Interesting architecture set this home apart with rounded rooms, and images of Graham Nash "jamming" with his crew in the rooms, made this a very special place. Would come back in a heartbeat... and we named the baby albatross in the front yard, Graham. Book it. You won't be disappointed.

Great location, nice house

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. I would absolutely rent it again. There were eight of us and we rented the house plus the separate suite over the garage. The neighborhood and gardens are beautiful and the deck off the house is fantastic. The living spaces in the house are large and comfortable and the kitchen is fairly well appointed for a rental house. The views from the living room and master bedroom are amazing. We really enjoyed our stay. All that being said, there were a few things about the house that would useful to know before booking. There were eight of us (four couples) and although the house has four bedrooms, the fifth bedroom over the garage was indispensable. There are a couple of things about the main house that could make things a bit awkward if you're not really comfortable with your traveling companions. First, the master bedroom doesn't have a door. It is down a short private hallway but because the house is so open, anyone in the the second floor guest bedroom or in the living room can hear everything in the master bedroom. The bathroom doors are all slatted, so again, privacy could be a concern for some. There are a few things that could stand to be updated. First and foremost is the refrigerator. It looks pretty new, but may just be a lemon. It doesn't hold temperature very well, so anytime you open the door to put groceries away or take food out, the temperature jumps to about 50 and it takes a long time to cool back down. The management company is well aware of it and the house rule book includes instructions not to open the fridge too much, which struck me as a bit odd. There are a few other things that are past due for updating, but I don't want to sound too nit picky - even with its faults, it's a lovely place to stay. When and if updated, this could easily be a five star property. I would also suggest more lighting in the bedrooms, especially the master bedroom. The master bedroom is quite large and has only one small lamp, so forget reading in bed at night. Finally, the on island property manager is really nice and super efficient. The oven didn't work when we arrived, and she had a repairman at the house within a few hours.

Infested Property with Moldy/Musty Smell

My husband and had to vacate this property and did not even stay there one night. Indeed, we did not stay there for more than two hours. Due to covid quarantine restrictions on Kauai and other circumstances keeping us on the south shore, we did not get to the home until 1/11/20. When we arrived, we found dead cockroaches and centipedes on the floor. The master bedroom was swelteringly hot and there were gecko droppings on the bedding. Parts of the home also had a strong moldy/musty smell. Instead of staying in these unhealthy and uninhabitable conditions, we found a hotel and drove back to the south shore which required us to throw out much of the food we had brought. I requested a full refund due to the, breach of the warranty of habitability of the rental property. However, the homeowner did not take responsibility for the condition of the home or honor our request for a refund. This home should not be listed . It is NOT as advertised.

Family vacation with Grown Up Kids

Was perfect for our group of 6. The guest house over the garage and pool table were why we rented this home. Everything was beautiful with many communal spaces inside and out for lounging. Beautiful views of the mountains, and the ocean can be seen too. Super close drive to Princeville center for most all of ones needs. The house was well equipped for meal prep with high quality kitchen supplies. Would love to return!!

Beautiful Views and Great Location

We had a fantastic time staying at this property. It was awesome having some beaches within walking distance, and the house is beautiful. The views from the upstairs master bedroom are stunning and we really enjoyed spending time hanging out of the front deck in the sun. Would definitely recommend!

Unique Princeville Home

Overall we had a great stay with three couples. Early check in and late check out accommodated kindly and the grounds are beautiful. A few notes however: The portable ac unit upstairs continually tripped the fuse making it unbearable upstairs during the day. It was also quite hot in the enclosed porch and general living areas. The hot tub was totally unusuable. It was dirty and our test strips showed chemicals were not properly adjusted for use. The guest cottage was also way too hot to be in during much of the day despite an AC unit. The house is large and unique in a secluded part of the sandpiper subdivision. We found Sealodge beach easily and highly recommend it. Mahalo!

Spacious home in a beautiful location

Loved our stay overall, it worked well for our 2 families. Loved that there was a big enough table seating all of us. The location is great, quick access to several dining options and a supermarket. Short drives to north shore beaches. To set realistic expectations: the furniture does not look new, neither do the carpets. The rooms smelled a bit musty at our arrival. None of this diminished our stay.

Spacious, gracious Princeville home

Our 3 generation family of 8 was quite comfortable in this spacious Princeville home. Gracious multiple living areas offered lots of room for everyone, with two lovely living rooms with beautiful views, and a room with a pool table, which was much enjoyed by the teenagers. We loved the beautiful, almost secluded Sealodge Beach which was a 10-15 minute walk away, but it could be a bit of a challenge for some people to get there, as it required climbing down some large lava rocks to get to the beach, after a short walk through beautiful jungle vegetation. The owners were responsive and helpful, as was the on-island manager of the home, when some minor needs arose. The Albatross's nesting on nearby lawns were fascinating and magnificent to observe.

Wonderful stay

Overall it was a wonderful place to vacation. Great location, very nice property and beautiful house. The only issue was how hot the house was during our stay. 4 out of the 5 bedrooms had individual a/c units, but the rest of the house was difficult to keep cool. Other than that our stay was very pleasant.

Beautiful Property for Large Groups

We were very happy with our stay at this property. There were plenty of bedrooms for our group of 9. Each bedroom had fans and AC units, however it was still pretty hot and stuffy even with the windows open to try to get a breeze. It would have been nice if the front door had a screen door option to help get a better cross breeze flowing through the house. The location was beautiful in a quiet neighborhood. The backyard felt private and the large porch at the front of the house was a great spot to hang out. It would have been nice to have a few more outdoor chairs and lounge chairs available on the porch, though. There was a grocery store very close by as well as access to several beautiful beaches within a few minutes driving in either direction. There was a beach that was walkable from the house, however it was very difficult to find the entrance. It would have been helpful if the house included a little bit more detail on the nearby beach access (which was quite a bit of a downhill hike on uneven terrain, but was beautiful and secluded once you got down). We also had several recurring issues with Wifi and lost power to 2 of the bedrooms throughout our stay. The owners were quick to respond to our questions and concerns about the internet, but we still had repeated issues the remainder of the trip even after we had to meet with an internet tech at the house. Overall, this house was clean, comfortable and had plenty of beds and bathrooms for a larger group. We enjoyed our weeklong stay and would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful location and home!

The neighborhood is full of nesting albatrosses which is pretty cool. The house is beautiful and unique. A great set up for 2 or 3 families. We cooked in a lot and the kitchen worked great.

A unique, well apointed property with the comforts of home inside a tropical snow globe.

We rented this special home for a month in late January into Feb. 2019 and truly enjoyed it. What more could you ask for? Dozens of massive windows open your eyes to the grand mountains behind, and water views to your right. Each room has a "home" like feel, large spaces that are tastefully decorated and enjoyable with family and friends. The lower level, (more windows, hot tub, fruit trees, and a massive area for outside play) is perfect for laughter over a game of pool or tucking in with a great book in the lower bedrooms. The kids...and a few adults played a spirited game of pool during the Super Bowl- GO PATS!! The kitchen - dining room area is perfect compliment to and open floor plan, cooking will friends and family surround you in a wonderful bar like setting, complete with amazing woodwork and details of a gourmet kitchen. We enjoyed many a taco night without the kids under tow. Two more bedroom upstairs, one of them being the master that gives you the feeling of living in a lighthouse. Amazing woodwork, windows and a views of the mountain and ocean to love. Three bathrooms, plenty a storage space, lovely outdoor space, set in the Albatros mating ground- we truly love it. A side note- We stayed in this house during severe North winds, massive rain storms and glorious days and everyday was just as good as the last. We appreciate the owners trust in us for such a long period of time, applauded the ground crew, caretaker and the lovely people that arranged our stay.

Fulfilled our needs

This was to be a celebration of cancer survival with all our family. Unfortunately not all could be there so it was a bit of a let down...and my we had rain. The island is truly beautiful. The house fulfilled our needs.

Fantastic home.

We loved the house. Used all the amenities. Neighborhood is beautiful. Location is convenient for taking advantage of local highlights - Queens Bath, Hideaway Beach, Hanalei Beach and more! We also had The last albatross of the season rest in the front yard one night.

We loved the house.

We were a group of 9 that rented the house and the suite over the garage. The house had everything we needed and the space was so enjoyable. Plenty of room! Lovely indoor and outdoor spaces. The BBQ needs to be replaced, but other than that, no complaints (We ate Poke instead). We loved seeing the albatross learn to spread their wings and the morning birdsong is outrageous. Close enough to walk to the Princeville shops. We also did the hike to Kaweonui beach. Not for the faint of hear, especially after the rains, but fun anyway. Sad to leave.

Great Property!

This house was perfect for our trip! We spent a week in Kauai with 8 adults (there was room for more) and it was great. The house is unique, comfortable and equipped with everything that we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. I love Princeville because of its views, great neighborhoods and proximity to everything on the North Shore. We all agreed we would stay there again. Thank you for the wonderful week!
