Dogwood Point Lake House on Lake Hamilton

Dogwood Point lake house is located 5 minutes from Central Avenue but is secluded and privately located on Lake Hamilton. It is nestled in the trees on a point overlooking beautiful Lake Hamilton.

Our home is unique because it has a lake house/cabin feel. It has two living quarters. The den is original to the home and is built of cedar and has a native stone fireplace. The living room is more modern and the entire lake side wall is constructed of glass. Birds and wildlife are abundant. Enjoy the array of Dogwood trees and other plants and flowers native to this area. Boat/jet ski rental is available on the lake. We have boat/swim dock and jet ski docks and are in a semi private cove making it an ideal location to swim and enjoy the water. We have everything you need to make it your home away from home.


R.V. hook up with water and electric provided.
Note: Water level on Lake Hamilton is lowered in the Fall.

This house was wonderful. The views were beautiful. Early mornings on the deck for breakfast watching the fog roll off the lake and late evenings fishing from the dock. This house was fully stocked with everything you will need. Beds were super comfortable. Quiet peaceful neighborhood. Owners were very quick to communicate and answer any questions. We will definitely stay here again.

Group of 6 adults just for a relaxing long weekend getaway. Please don't let the 4 stars on the location/neighborhood discourage you from renting this location. Once you get to the backside of this amazing house you forget all about the drive in. Amazing communication from owner. House is very well kept and clean. We did alot of back porch sitting, and loved the views of the lake. We were there over Labor Day weekend and you could even see the fireworks from the dock! Definitely would stay here again!

Great place for a family getaway

I loved our stay here! I loved the quirkiness of the house and it’s in a great location. We had a great time! The only issue was no WiFi. But otherwise a great house!

Relaxing and Comfy

I took my parents and teen daughter to Hot Springs and I’m very pleased with the home and our stay there. It was comfortable and cozy and they had everything you could think of that you’d need. A well equipped kitchen, games, extra linens and more. We’d definitely return if we ever go back to Hot Springs!

One of the most beautiful properties

Absolutely loved this property. Layout of bedrooms is a bit odd and offers little privacy but fine for kids. Decks and docks made this a favorite rental for us. Warning there is no internet wifi. I ran to town and bought a Verizon hotspot router that worked well. (I needed one for a remote office anyway so I didn’t mind buying one.). Has two living rooms which let us really spread out.

Birthday with family

This property was in a great location. Views were amazing. The bedrooms are close together and we had to share bathrooms but it did not bother us because we with our adult children. May be a problem if you are 3 separate couples. Overall, I highly recommend. I read somewhere about cleanliness but the house seemed very clean to us and did not have a problem there either.

Nice, comfortable lake house close drive to town

Check in process was seamless and wandering the house and property was pleasant. Many places to sit with a view of the lake. Up on a hill, the walk down to the dock was a steep one, so watch your step, but at the bottom, the trek is worth the sounds down at the water. Lovely property and has covered parking. Good for those stormy nights even if property loses power, it quickly gets restored.

Spacious home

The location is nice. It is out of the way but also close to main attractions. The host is very responsive. The place is older but very comfortable and did I mention spacious!

Beautiful place and very enjoyable!

We really enjoyed the view, the area and the accommodations! We had most of the essentials we needed and that was wonderful. We really appreciated being able to bring two well-behaved dogs with us. The beds were comfortable and clean and we had ample linens for our group. Laundry equipment worked well and was easily accessible.Although the description touted "Free Wi-Fi" we were disappointed that they really did not have ANY Wi-Fi to use - which caused a problem with remote workers in our group. The surface areas of the bathrooms and main areas were clean; the kitchen cupboards and dishes not so much (i.e., we found a 1/2 eaten candy bar in the hallway pantry) - cupboards could definitely use a thorough organizing and cleaning. We also found numerous dead spiders and webs under the beds, couch, etc. The bedrooms are all connected which we didn't mind but if you're looking for privacy, this may not be for you.All in all, we enjoyed our stay on this beautiful lake property!

Not pleasant

When we arrived we were welcomed with freshly cut fish with bones by the entry door making a foul smell. We have little children that still like to play on the floor in which the floor was not mopped/ swept. The dog area/ fenced in area wasn’t clean out. I would not feel comfortable leaving any dog in there. The yard is mostly gravel and moss area which left it difficult for our dog to go to the bathroom. The yard was not maintained. I attempted to contact the owner with some simple questions and felt like I was bother to her and got redirected to what was posted on VRBO. I made her aware of all my concerns and she responded with her cleaning lady got overwhelmed from the last renters and didn’t have enough time to clean. I then proceeded to ask for a refund on cleaning and pet fee and she refused even when we had to pick up after the renters before us.

Perfect Getaway

This house was a home away from home. So cozy and had everything you needed. If you cook meals while on vacation like we do, this is the kitchen to do it in. The porch overlooking the water is awesome to wake up and drink coffee on. And the location for us was just perfect. We were secluded but close enough to everything to not be a burden. Plenty of parking at this house, very easy access in and out. If we come back to Hot Springs, we will definitely be staying here again! Thanks for a great house!

Won’t be back

This is an awkward home. Very little privacy with how each room goes into the other. Middle room has zero privacy. They claim main room has a queen bed I strongly believe all rooms are fulls. They claim to have WIFI, they don’t it’s MIFI a device that allows no streaming and your cell phone gets better coverage in the house than this device. It does offer a great view but that’s the only positive feedback I have on this stay. You pay a cleaning fee up front but they want the place spotless when you leave. We didn’t clean the tub after granddaughter took a bath (she was dirty) I didn’t feel I needed to clean out the bottom of the tub since I would assume their cleaner would be doing it. In addition it appears we forgot to clean the kitchen counters when we left. The counters were a mess but again we did pay a cleaning fee. They have now attempted to charge us double that original fee for cleaning. No reimbursement was given to us for the lack of true WiFi and I was forced to take additional vacation time due to not being able to work on the mifi device. The mosquitoes were so bad they were everywhere on the dock. I understand it’s outdoors but if they sprayed prior to a guest arrival it wouldn’t be that bad. All of the doors in the house stick. My granddaughter got stuck inside and we heard her crying from the other room. Many outlets don’t work. The kitchen outlet is literally hanging from a cupboard. AC in front of house doesn’t work well fans are needed.

Perfect Getaway

Fishing, Relaxing in a cabin style home. The only issue was the constant barking of the neighbors 4+ dogs. The house is nestled in a wooded area and to get to the pier to fish you have to walk down a little bit to get there which was a little challenging for my mom with a bad hip. She found a large stick to help her get down and back up the hill. Even with that she had an amazing time because she was able to fish fish fish! The home is spacious, clean, and has EVERYTHING that you need minus your food and clothes. Lol

Serene lakefront getaway

This property had ample space for a couple of families, with 2 living areas, 3 bedrooms, and a dining room overlooking the beautiful lake with expansive windows. The back patio area is also a peaceful place to soak up nature and let kids play (supervised). It was a great space for us! Phena was super responsive and pleasant! One neighboring house is sketchy and we heard arguing in the middle of the night a couple of times, with multiple dogs chained up in the backyard, which wasn't ideal, but obviously these homeowners have no control over it and we felt safe. We'd stay here again!

September celebrations

We are a small family of eight who love to spend time together for a fall mini vacation on Labor Day. We stayed in this property this year and really had a good time. The bedroom arrangement is kind of quirky but we made it work. We enjoyed that we had a good view and some on the water time. Hosts were helpful and quick with a response with our concern. Overall a great place to stay.
