Tranquil and peaceful property in the heart of the salt ponds area. Extremely accurate depiction of property wish we had had a week to spend here. Extremely clean and very well appointed. This was one of the best stocked and supplied VRBO properties that we have ever stayed in. The owners were extremely communicative. We will definitely be back if we ever need another property in this area.

Beautiful, serene waterfront property

Awesome property and welcoming hosts. Everything was as described in the listing and the hosts had the house completely prepared, from labeling everything, a welcome basket with snacks and wine, a stocked drinks fridge with water bottles.Awesome stay. Would recommend it

This is our second year staying at Canary Island and loved being able to create new memories. This has become one of our favorite spots towards the end of the summer before the back to school madness!Kim and Pete are great…always responsive and takes the thinking out of planning what to take because their lovely home is full stocked with everything you need. We highly recommend staying here just not the 3rd week in August BTW Kim & Pete, loved the two window cushions for privacy and block the morning light in the primary bedroom!!!

We had an incredible experience at this VRBO property! The location was fantastic and offered a spectacular, peaceful view that made our stay truly relaxing. The house itself was immaculate, and the hosts went above and beyond to think of every possible detail. Everything was clearly labeled, and there were helpful notes throughout to make finding things effortless.We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like restaurant recommendations complete with menus—such a nice bonus! Nothing was lacking, from the high-quality bedding and towels to the well-stocked kitchen and amenities. Communication and check-in were seamless, making the entire process stress-free.This was truly a next-level experience, and we can’t recommend this property highly enough. We will absolutely be back!

Amazing hosts!The house was extremely organized, and the location and views from the home were stunning.We felt as if we were at our own home.Pete and Kim were gracious presenting us with a welcome basket filled with treats, and flowers.We needed a bit more time for departure, my son slipped outside of a restaurant and broke his foot, and they were very accommodating with the checkout time.Thank you for a great time, and for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful House

This is a beautiful house with spectacular views. The host left a wonderful welcome basket full of goodies which was very thoughtful! I would have given this a five star review but we had to leave early due to a burst water pipe which I know the host had no control over. We will consider coming to this property again!

The property is delightful and in a beautiful setting. My daughters and I had a wonderful time…greeted with a full basket of snacks, beautiful bouquet of flowers and and bottle of local wine. Outdoor water equipment fun, plenty of games and a pool table! Beautiful sunrises, loved it.

Absolutely Gorgeous

From beginning to end, this home is worth EVERY PENNY! The hosts are attentive, communicative and friendly. Hosts take extreme care and attend to every beautiful detail in the home. The location is breathtaking and extremely quiet. The amenities go above and beyond expectations. We will return in the near future!!

Great rental!

My family and friends had a great trip and stay at the Canary House. Communication and check in were easy. We loved eating and talking around the large kitchen island which helped bring us all together. Great location to the beach and position on the bay made for great evenings outside. The host welcome was very thoughtful and made my 5 yo nephew and friend feel very special. I was very appreciative. House is was extremely comfortable for a trip away. We would stay again.

Anniversary Trip

Fabulous VRBO. It was our 41st anniversary and the owners really made us feel special. We loved the house, the location, the view of the water/marina/sailboats. The house decor was lovely. Every room was great. The Owners left us wine and delicious snacks plus eggs/bagels/bacon for breakfast. It was the most welcoming VRBO at which we ever stayed. The Owners communicated with us to be sure we had everything we needed. We ate at the Restaurants they recommended at Fort Monroe and downtown raw bar. Both were excellent. We visited Norfolk, Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. Great history. We would definitely return to this wonderful VRBO!

Short but Sweet Getaway

This VRBO was an absolute gem! The location was ideal, great water views and easy access to everything thing we wanted to do. The property itself was beautifully maintained and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well-equipped, good quality linens were provided and all things needed for a good time from the kayaks, paddle boards, pool table, books and games! You literally only need to bring your clothes and food. The hosts were incredibly helpful and responsive. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed plus a few thoughtful surprises. Thanks again for that!! We would definitely stay here again but Longer and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic waterfront vacation rental.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !

This AMAZING property is located in a quiet residential neighborhood with friendly neighbors. The house is IMMACULATE ! The owners thought of EVERYTHING while preparing for guest. Honestly, we only needed to bring our clothing and food. It’s well equipped with appliances, dinnerware, towels, travel size toiletries and wonderful snacks for the family. We arrived early and the owners allowed us access with no hesitation. It was a great home for our family to celebrate our son’s graduation from Hampton University. I would definitely book this HOME again and again. 💙

Our Favorite Vacation Home!

We had the pleasure of meeting Pete & Kim at check-in. They were so friendly & welcoming! They made us feel like we were family. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a special experience. The house itself was beyond our expectations. The attention to detail and care put into maintaining the home was evident in every corner. Every amenity we could possibly need was provided, from the stunning water views, to the kayaks, and pool table. It was truly a paradise for us. What impressed us the most was how clean and organized everything was. The labeling of items made it easy for us to find what we needed, and we appreciated the thoughtfulness behind it. Overall, this was by far the best vacation home we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Thank you for creating such a wonderful space for guests to enjoy!

Magical!!!

This home is PERFECTION!!! The hosts are lovely and responsive, and the home itself is magnificent. I was in town for an AAU Basketball Tournament at the Boo Williams Sports Complex for one of my oldest and dearest friends. We decided to use this opportunity to have a little girls weekend for three of us, and this home did not disappoint! The water views were spectacular and made for the perfect backdrop for our reunion. Kim thought of every detail! The cabinets are labeled (no hunting through each one to find what you’re looking for), the availability of items is superb, and she thought of every detail imaginable. I have never stayed in a rental home that treated me like I was in a Bed and Breakfast! Her thoughtfulness to our group was unparalleled and we noticed all the little touches throughout each room - she made her home, our home. And the master bathroom… out of this world! Stop looking for the perfect Hampton Home - you have found it!!! We were honored to share Pete and Kim’s home and this will certainly be our go-to house next time we are in town! Thank you for a magical weekend. 😊

Amazing views with all the bells and whistles

This is by far the most well stocked rental we have ever had the pleasure to stay at. After a long day of travel, it was so nice to be welcomed by a lovely gift basket and every amenity we could possibly need. The kitchen has EVERYTHING from a blender and an instant pot to all of the pots/pans, spices, and cutlery you could ever need. And every cabinet is labeled as such for easy location! There are even kayaks and paddle boards available for use however, after seeing the strength of the current and being very self-aware of our physical abilities (or lack there of), we chose not to partake at risk of never being able to make it back... But we saw many others out enjoying the water on their paddle boards. Our kids (8 and 12) enjoyed reading some of the books and playing the games and we were able to "teach" them how to play pool albeit none of us should be considered professional by any means... But everyone's favorite activity was going 2 miles away to Buckroe Beach. The beach has ample free parking available, and it wasn't overcrowded at all. Pete and Kim have beach chairs and even an umbrella that can be used which was such a lifesaver since I am a fair skinned redhead who gets burned very easily. In summary, I couldn't recommend this place enough. Pete and Kim were great communicators who checked in with us often and answered any questions that I had. We will most definitely be back!
