Enjoy Juneau in one of the most sought-after areas of town. See Juneau like a local, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and up to 20,000 cruise ship visitors per day. Watch bald eagles soar in the sky and harbor seals hunting for fish in the harbor. We are located less than a mile from the Ferry Terminal and The University of Alaska Southeast. A short drive to the Mendenhall Glacier and countless trails and hidden gems!

This one-bedroom apartment has spectacular views overlooking Auke Bay Harbor and Chilkat Mountain Range. Enjoy the views from the main living area, bedroom and 300+ sqft covered deck. Apartment includes washer/dryer and weber propane grill.

The place was great and had everything you’d need. The view is spectacular! Location is great, within walking distanceto a brewery and breakfast place. Towels were nice and fluffy, bed was comfortable, have a new washer and dryer is key when traveling. Despite being on a main road, the place was very quiet and I could not hear the traffic at all.

This place was wonderful! I had never been to Alaska before, and thought I’d start with a homebase to explore the Juneau area. This worked out to be one of the best vacations I’ve ever had, and my home base was beautiful, with an extraordinary view of the bay and wildlife, and very walkable. The hosts seem to have thought of every little tiny detail to make the home comfortable and beautiful. I can’t say enough about how much I love staying here!

Watching tides flow

Daily enjoyment of seeing the bay, tide changes, eagles fishing, seals and the boats passing by to the dock. Easy access to walk to restaurants and the whale watch trip we took. Bus line nearby. Short drive to trails and gorgeous Auke Bay beaches and picnic shelters. Loved all of this.

Great location and view

This property is quick walk to the Auke Bay marinas, and about 10 minutes to Juneau and even quicker to Mendenhall Glacier. Our main goals were to catch fish, and we ending up doing 2 days of charters with much success! The deck provides a great view of the marina and bay, complete with a multitude of eagles! It is a lower level with home above, but that worked well for us.

Beautiful, comfortable and restful

Possibly the cleanest place we stay. Very restful to sleep in high quality sheets The view of harbor from both living and bedrooms was so peaceful and gorgeous! Thoughtfully and generously provided many items both in the kitchen and the bathroom needs. The nearest grocery store (Safeway) is about 5 miles away. But can walk to brewery. We used Ubers and city buss for transportation.

Great Marina Apartment

We stayed at this 1 bedroom apartment next to Auke Bay Marina for a week. We loved it so much! You should have a car as it’s 10 minutes or so to downtown Juneau. It is a completely different vacation staying here than in the cruise area. We loved watching the boats, the tides, the eagles, the harbor seals, all from the balcony. Walked along the waters edge every day. It’s a must to have a washer/dryer as it’s a wet climate. It was nice to have the garage as a staging area for outerwear & the basic catch all of stuff. I’m a hot sleeper, very happy to have a fan. Really like the sports bar across the street, Squirez & Auke Bay Cafe. We both really like the laid back & quiet atmosphere of this apartment. We would be back for sure.

Auke Bay Magic

Our 2 week vacation in this beautiful home couldn’t have been more perfect. This wonderfully appointed home has everything- comfortable bed, luxury linens, cozy blankets, plenty of towels, fully equipped kitchen, and gorgeous setting. We watched at least a dozen eagles every day, a cute little harbor seal, shore birds, kayakers paddling about, boats coming and going, all from our windows and deck. We highly recommend this property and hope to come back next year!

Cozy Home Away from Home

My son and I recently stayed at Adam & Ash’s Alexis Beach House while touring the University of Alaska Southeast Campus and we could not have chosen a more perfect home away from home! Thank you Adam & Ash for the consistently clear and timely responses, for the wonderful local recommendations and for sharing your clean, safe, cozy, and beautifully furnished home. We especially appreciated the availability of your community pantry after a long day of travel from the East Coast which really helped to ease us into our fun and relaxing 4 night stay in Juneau. The brand new washer and dryer were a godsend while on vacation and the view was absolutely perfect! We would absolutely stay with them again without hesitation.

Amazing Location

Lovely apartment with an amazing view, highly recommended. We were able to enjoy a whale watching trip by just walking 100 feet to the marina, and a hiking trail available the other direction. We did not miss out on much by not being able to rent a car!

Fantastic views

Clean home with everything you need for a relaxing stay in Juneau. The views are the best in town and the host makes you feel right at home. We will stay again next time we are in town.

Great stay with an amazing view

We loved staying here! The house was very clean and such a great spot. The view of the water is beautiful and home to many eagles and seals. They were also very responsive to our messages.

Great location, great view!

This is a wonderful option for Juneau for those who have a rental car or other means of transportation. While not "downtown," that is a selling point! It is not far from the many activities and hiking areas, and it is right on Auke Harbor where many of the boat activities depart from (e.g., whale watching, fishing). The view is unbeatable, and we saw a harbor seal and eagles right from the balcony. All the amenities we needed were available, including some nice extras like coffee, condiments, and even detergent if we wanted to do laundry. While we didn't use the washer/dryer, it is a great benefit for those staying longer than a few days. I highly recommend this location for couples or for families of three, as my daughter found the couch comfortable. It doesn't pull out, but she was fine.

Perfect location for our trip.

This Auke Bay location was perfect for us. From decK overlooking the harbor, we were able to walk to our fishing charter. It is far enough from town to get away from tour boat traffic but still close enough to get in at night to restaurants. It is so close to all “out the road” treasures! Bed was very comfortable and we used the garage for our rental car. Whole check in process was a breeze and Adam called to make sure all was well. Loved the place and already planning next trip back.

Great location

Owner was very responsive with any questions about the area. Enjoyed that it is located away from the chaos of the downtown cruise ship port. But only about 15mins into town.

Perfect getaway with gorgeous views

Adam and Ashley were wonderful hosts with a great property. They left coffee and some local Alaska snacks for us to sample- Delicious! Everything in the apartment was thoughtful and useful. The apartment is walking distance to a couple businesses in the Auke bay area, but we had a rental car to cruise around in for our 2 days there. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was fantastic (I write this as a full time Rv'er so this is what I'm really paying for on vacation ;) We couldn't have asked for a better spot! Thanks Adam and Ashley!

Perfect getaway in Auke Bay with harbor views!

This cozy location close to local activities is clean, complete and has a view of the constant activity in the harbor. We watched eagles play while harbor seals hunted and locals took their boats out to fish. Fully loaded with a perfect set up for a couple that likes to prepare their own meals and needs a little elbow room. The huge deck gives you lots of additional space for enjoying the view.

I first fell in LOVE with Juneau during a family vacation in my teen years. As Ashley tells the story I would often talk about moving to Alaska for our next great adventure. In 2013 I checked my work email and to my surprise, there was a new opportunity to relocate to Juneau!! I showed the email to Ashley and she said "Let's go". We sold everything and were on a plane a month later... and haven't regretted it for a moment.

We love everything about Juneau! The views, the community, the remoteness, the seafood.... and did I mention the VIEWS!?!?!

We are here to give you a local perspective on Juneau. We can make recommendations on everything from tour excursions, hiking trails (if you ask for this please include you level of fitness and how adventurous you are), hidden gems (don't like 20,000 tourists... hint neither do we. We can help you find the off the beaten path beaches and sights that you likely won't find on your own).

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We were looking at a few unique properties around town in late April. Ashley loved a house near downtown, and as they say "Happy wife, Happy life". We had planned to put an offer on the downtown house that day.

We saw postings on Facebook that there was a humpback whale feeding in the harbor in Auke Bay. We rushed that way and spent the next 2 hours enjoying a beautiful blue sky day with a humpback whale we affectionately named "Herbert". I pointed out a house overlooking the harbor and told Ashley that they have sandwiches and sweet tea at the open house. So we stopped for lunch.

On this serendipitous day we stopped for lunch and a brief tour and I fell in love with the property. Ashley still had her heart set on the other home. We called our realtor and asked for a 3rd viewing of the downtown home. What we found was astonishing. We had just left Auke Bay and the temperature gauge on my car read 71 degrees. As we went up the hill to the other property we felt a chill and there was still snow on the ground. The gauge in my care read 39 degrees. We never went on that 3rd tour.

We made an offer on the Auke Bay home and have loved living in the driest and sunniest area of Juneau ever since. If you happen to see Herbert, make sure to tell him we said hello. If he is out there with a friend... his name is Sparky.
