This property is one of its kind. There is plenty of space inside the homes or outside. It is on 2 acres and the grounds are kept very well. Theres plenty of space to take a walk down into the park or read a book on one of the 4 patios. Theres even corn hole or bring your favorite ball. You will Love this property.yes there is 2 homes on this property and with this listing you get both and beautiful outside kitchens on 2 acres. Main home sleeps 10-11 and the ManCave sleeps 13!!! We think you’ll love it! Together 20+ people.

We loved the property! Clean and so close to the wedding venue Sabrina Cedars. The hosts were fantastic and so easy to communicate with. One of our favorite stays so far.

We had such a fantastic stay at Steele Away Homes! The house was absolutely amazing—spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly well-appointed with everything we needed. It really felt like a home away from home.A huge shoutout to our host, Deb, who was wonderful to work with. She was super friendly and made the whole process easy and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a top-tier stay. We’d love to come back!

We had the absolute best experience staying at Debbie and her husband’s property! We rented it for our wedding weekend to host our wedding party and also held our rehearsal dinner there for our out-of-town family, and it could not have been more perfect.When we arrived, they greeted us and gave us a tour of the property, which was not only beautiful but also incredibly well-maintained and thoughtfully set up. They were both so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. It immediately made us feel at home.The space itself was ideal for hosting, with plenty of room for everyone to gather, celebrate, and relax. Everything about our stay felt seamless, and it truly added something special to such an important weekend for us.We are so grateful for their hospitality and would absolutely rent from them again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend!

Very impressive property! Rooms are spacious and clean and the beds were all so comfortable! Plenty of room for a large bridal party of 15 to get ready at! The host was so very nice and great to work with! I really wish we could’ve had more time here but the time we had was fantastic!

This property was absolutely unbelievable. From the size to the decor to the unique landscape, everything about it made for an incredible experience for our softball team. It’s truly one of a kind.Debbie, the property owner, was staying onsite in one of the apartments and was so engaged with our team. We can’t say enough great things about her. She was extremely polite, so sweet, and all the girls just loved her. Her hospitality made the stay even more special.There is not a prettier property in Abilene. We are so grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for something truly exceptional.

Great Christmas Stay

Beautiful place and history of home amazing. Perfect for a quick getaway, we stayed outside most of the time. Thank you for a great refresh time for all of us. Taking the kids to the zoo was the star on top with all the Christmas decorations.

Great place for a large group!

Our church staff stayed two nights at this property while in town for a conference. There were plenty of comfortable beds for 17 of us! The kitchen was well equipped for us to make breakfast and the outdoor kitchen was perfect for grilling burgers one night. In fact, the patios and backyard are the best part of this property! We thoroughly enjoyed gathering around the fire pit at night. The landscaping is just gorgeous and we wish we could have stayed longer! The location was in a very nice, safe neighborhood that was close to downtown (10 minute drive). The owners were so sweet and I loved that they stay onsite in case any needs were to arise. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone needing space for a large group in Abilene!

Family Fun

This home is impeccably maintained; it’s amenities exceed what is included on the listing; the spacious yard accommodates outdoor games; the expansive covered porch has ample seating for tabletop games, meals, and conversation; we enjoyed the indoor formal spaces for celebration meals and the man cave main room for nightly catch up and conversation. We easily accommodated our family of 15 with beds to spare. When an additional five visitors dropped in to sit awhile, no one felt crowded at meals or chat time. The wild and exotic game decor added to the magic: this neighborhood home is an unexpected gem.

Amazing home for a family reunion!!

We celebrated our mother’s 80th birthday with a family reunion and Debbie’s home was perfect!! Plenty of room for a gathering of four families with lots of activities to keep everyone happy and busy while we visited. A pool table, corn hole boards, dominoes in the evening by the fire, and multiple TVs allowing us to watch the Longhorns, Aggies and Buckeye football games all at the same time. Debbie was an incredible host and quick to respond if/when we needed anything. She even swung by and took a family photo for us— thank you Debbie!! We spent the bulk of our time cooking in the the fully outfitted kitchen which had everything we needed and more. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend booking with Debbie and staying in her beautiful home to anyone!!

38th Dove Hunt - We have a new home!!!

Seven "Elders" have been coming to Abilene each Labor Day weekend for our annual dove hunt. We now have nine "Utes" that have joined us sunce they were old enough to hunt. We have been staying in hotels (two different down and outs) and due to the decline of quality at the last one, which we had been goIng to for twenty-five years, I researched other accommodations. Found this property and booked for this 2023 trip. WOW, wished we had found this much earlier. We have found a new place for the next XX years, as long as we can keep this tradition going. It is also very close to Abuelo's, our "Friday Night Mexican" dinner.

I’ve lived in Abilene since a young age of 5. My Grandmother owned the Ponca Motel for over 30 years so I believe Hostessing is in my blood! I enjoy people coming and feeling like they’re at home! We have made sure that when you leave here your wanting to come back!

We have remodeled every room in the main house! And we built the ManCave (Rustic and Classy) on the same property! We have been all over the world hunting, so its unique design makes you feel like you’re in the wilderness.
This neighborhood has always been a favorite of mine. Big trees and lots of them. We sit on the Elm Creek but it’s usually very dry!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

I would say the big massive oak and Elm trees make this property perfect! We planted all the Bald Cypress trees and they have flourished! The large 2 acre lot has been such a blessing! We designed the bottom park area for people who want to explore and have room to walk! It’s very relaxing sitting out drinking coffee in the mornings listening to our native birds, like the cardinals and hawks. Bring your whole family and enjoy what we have built for you!
