Cozy cabin in the Hills

Sunset Trails Cabin was updated for the 2022 season and under new management. The cabin has 3 bedrooms with new queen beds on a split level (the loft is no longer in use). One bedroom leads to a large deck with a beautiful view. It has two 3/4 bathrooms, full kitchen, gas fireplace, deck with gas grill, and a washer and dryer. Sunset Trails is located 5 minutes from Hill City on roughly 1.5 miles of gravel road (guests on motorcycles please take note of the gravel road). Its walking distance from the Mickelson Trail and about 20 minutes from Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. For those of you that like to stay connected you do have cell service here and we just added Wi-Fi!! Cell service is spotty in some areas so please pull up the map and directions before heading to the house. This home is in a neighborhood so those of you that bring ATV/UTVs please be considerate of the road and the neighbors.

This cabin was tucked away in the mountains. We loved the peace the nature and woods brought us. The cabin was very clean & the house supplies were good quality. The owners did not skip out on anything. They even provided fresh food supplies for us! They provided maps/brochures for all the adventures that surrounded us! Check in and check out process was easy! I’d HIGHLY recommend and love to go back!

This place was perfect for our trip. Myself, my daughter, and a long time friend and his daughter spent labor day weekend here. It was centrally located and near everything you could imagine to find in the black hills. We did side by sides on the trails, road horses at high country trail rides "5 min away", and explored Needles highway and all the main attractions. The house itself feels bigger than the pictures show. It was very clean and very well stocked. It is very private and the back yard leads to endless forest. The hosts make the process so easy and communicate better than any host I've had on VRBO. They even gifted us farmlaid eggs and fresh ground beef! I really can't speak highly enough about this property and the hosts. Thank you for your hospitality, next time I visit the black hills this property will be my first choice!

What a convenient and beautiful location! The cabin wasmeticulous and there was even fresh eggs and beef for all of us in the fridge. We were able to meet our hosts Dulce and Mike and they were extremely pleasant and attentive to whatever questions we had with the surrounding area.They even referred us to the best German restaurantever, the Alpine in Hill City. Beautiful setting with morning deer in the front yard. Definitely would stay here again! THE GOLDEN GIRLS

My family had an amazing time at the cozy cabin in the hills! Location was great, close to all the attractions in the black hills but out of town and in a quiet area. We would all wake up and look for the wildlife that would walk through the backyard and just enjoy the fresh air and cool mornings!!! The hosts were great and answered all our questions in a timely manor. We are definitely planning on going back to the cozy cabin

Property was fantastic! Great location in a quiet neighborhood and still close to Hill City. The house had great amenities and perfect setup for 3 couples during our side by side trip. We were able to get 2 trailers parked in the driveway. We missed having Wi-Fi in the house (overlook on my part) but ended up being great to unplug for a few days

Beautiful location with well maintained property. It was exceptionally well cleaned and stocked. The absolute best hosts we've ever had. Mike and Dulce went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience (pre frozen beer mugs, fresh eggs, ground coffee). The forethought they put into their guests visits is truly amazing.

Hospitality 10/10 would recommend

Communication with the hosts was amazing, friendly and prompt. Dulce had inquired when we booked if we had any special reason for our trip and I indicated that my daughter just graduated and her birthday would be during our trip. When we arrived there was a graduation and Birthday balloon with sparkling grape juice and chocolate and a birthday/graduation card. Farm fresh eggs, fresh ground filet and a bottle of Moscato for the grown ups. What a great surprise for all of us. Everything was clean and everything is available one would need to make meals and avoid restaurant meals three times a day. The location is a bit outside of Hill City but easy to reach. There is a drive on gravel, but very well maintained. Being in Hill City is the perfect starting point for any day trips around the Hills. This was a perfect family vacation. If there is another trip to the Black Hills in our future we would definitely stay here again.

Definitely a property to re-book in the future

property was great and very clean! we would stay again definitely! Mike and Dulce were great to work with also. (only suggestion is the sewage smell by the driveway might need to be fixed ) but that would not deter us from coming back as not only was the property GREAT, so were the 4-wheeling trails!
