Beautiful views from the main living room/dining area/kitchen, as well as both bedrooms! Big windows will make you never want to miss a sunrise! Has all the amenities. We took advantage of the spa for nighttime star gazing. It's very close to the national park, as well as restaurants and shops. Eddie was very attentive and helpful. We definitely want to stay there again!

Loved everything about our stay, with the minor exception of no lounge chairs were avaliable for the pool. We understand the owner was in the process of replacing the previous ones, but the photos show lounge chairs, and we didnt really have anywhere to sit and enjoy the pool. Otherwise, i cant say enough about the beautiful sunrises, and hiking out the back was perfect when we didnt want to go all the way into the Joshua Tree park

OMG, I cannot rave how much this property was perfect for our Joshua Tree National Park stay, minutes away from Western enterance, making quick access to park as easy as possible. Easy check in, accessible owner, everything label and accurate description, I will base all VRBO properties compared to this gold standard.

This place is excellent, including its location, the views, and the details that are kept up throughout, which include timed outside lights, an expresso machine, great record player and sound, tons of spices and kitchen basics, and a strong AC system. First off the pictures on the website accurately reflected the actual house and it's incredible views. It was a beautiful house with gorgeous views. It was clean and literally everything in the house worked as it was supposed to. On the first night the propane tank on the BBQ ran out and unfortunately the spare was also empty, a staff member was out to the house to replace and refill those tanks within the hour! Eddie the property manager was available and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be returning to this property in the future.

Can’t wait to go back

Perfect setting, beautiful home, clean and comfy pool and hot tub. Very responsive and gracious host. My family of 4 had a memorable stay and took advantage of location with easy access to Joshua Tree NP as well as the awesome sound system.

Excellent experience

The location of the property was great. Very close to the park and to places to eat and shop. The view was amazing and we loved the pool. The property's host was very communicative and helpful and responded immediately to questions.

Next time, we stay a month,

Casa Altura is in a great location, and it was just our style. Here’s why - It’s adjacent to the park, close to downtown - It’s private without being secluded (you will not see you neighbors because they are not close, but you are also not in the middle of nowhere) - You will enjoy the expansive views from the main living space, from the large raised porch, and from the pool/hot tub area. - The main picture windows face east so you get the sunrise, and the interior will be shaded once the hottest sun of the afternoon comes. - The pool is on the east side of the house so it will be hot in the afternoon, but the house will shade the pool later in the afternoon making it a great lounging spot and for grilling on the deck. - The main living area has picture windows that give a great view while making coffee, cooking etc.lots of places to hang out, a nice seating area at the counter and also at a separate table all with extraordinary views. - Cooking: we’ve never stayed in a better stocked VRBO/BnB. Amazing. Well appointed with towels, blankets, washer/dryer, etc. Now the tech. - Every window has powered blinds so you can set the interior just the way you want (get just a little shade in the morning, then open all the way for the afternoon and evening, close at night if you want, or not). - The TV is large, it’s a Sony, movies look and sound great. And the Host has an eclectic movie collection on Blu-ray. - And while we’re on the topic of sound, THE STEREO IS AN ABSOLUTE HOOT! Vintage Pioneer receiver connected to powered DJ speakers. It sounds amazing. Just plug in your phone (though any of the normal means: USB-C, iPhone lighting, or miniplug) and you have your own little lounge going on. We loved it. There’s a turntable which we did not try, but yeah, style! - Internet was fast and reliable enough to hold an important business meeting if one comes up that you can’t avoid. We stayed there just the two of us and the place was more than large enough. It would be great for 4 as well because the living areas (inside and out) are really large so everyone can find space, pitch in while cooking, swim, hot tub, sunbathe, etc. If you have a much larger group, you should probably rent somewhere else more suited to that. Casa Altura has it going on, but it’s not a big party-house. And the Host. He’s great, you will have all the info you need, he made great suggestions, he’s responsive but never intrusive. The host has stye (there’s that word again). Casa Altura is exactly the kind of place you hope to find when scanning through the many-many VRBO options. We have our place in Joshua Tree for as long as the Host keeps renting it. That’s our best recommendation.

OUTSTANDING JT Location & Place "Casa Altura"

Just stayed at Casa Altura & it's PERFECT in every way. LOCATION cannot be beat as situated few blocks from main intersection in JT (so no noise or traffic, but quick and easy access to restaurants etc.), and it's short drive to West entrance of Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. There are SPECTACULAR VIEWS of gorgeous rock formation that are unobstructed & unimpeded by anything from every room, as well as from the large deck, and the patio, pool & jacuzzi area.Inside the 2BR 2BA is chic & comfortable with tech savvy controls & great features throughout; large fully stocked kitchen with a huge island, large dining table (also 2 tables on outside deck), and excellent living room area with turntable, speakers, flatscreen TV & stylish seating area. Good assortment of toys, games, books, DVDs and albums are a bonus. The owner is GREAT; quick to reply & helpful.No need to look elsewhere - if size is right - book it ASAP and you won't be disappointed!

3 nights at Casa Altura

This property was perfect for our party of 4 (2 couples) while we visited Joshua Tree. No fighting over the best bedroom because they are both very similar, each with it’s own bathroom. The kitchen and living areas are spacious and light with large windows looking out over the desert. Loved the hot tub and pool too. And a convenient proximity to the National park. Best restaurant around was Kitchen in the Desert, 18 mins away. Great food and vibe. Would stay here again!

Beautiful desert respite

This was our last stop on a week long road trip hiking at different national parks throughout Nevada, Utah and Arizona and it was a much needed respite! Such a lovely oasis in the desert, the views were great and the pool and hot tub were amazing! We took moonlight swims under the stars and early morning swims after watching the sunrise while sipping coffee. The kitchen was also super well stocked and cooking and eating a meal while watching the sunset was really special. I also enjoyed walking around the area behind the property looking at interesting plants and watching the bunnies and quail run around. The beds and pillows were really comfy, and we loved all the soaps and shampoos too. A wonderful stay!

Great trip to Casa Altura with old friends

After looking at lots of Joshua Tree properties, we were all delighted to end up choosing Casa Altura. The views are mesmerizing, with the home situated on the lot in such a way that you feel no one’s around for miles. The home is very comfortable, with fantastic natural light, great furniture, and a fully stocked kitchen. The spa was fantastic, and we used it even when it was raining. The location was so convenient to the Joshua Tree park, where we went every day to meet other friends camping there for hiking. One of the highlights of our stay was a wonderful afternoon/evening on the deck talking to our long-time friends while playing 1970s records on the provided turntable. The gem of this property is the owner Eddie - he looks after you like a best friend, checking in via text a couple times to make sure you are totally comfy. He even suggested a nearby hike from the house where we saw a tortoise and petroglyphs! Thanks for the wine and the cool coffee cup Eddie! The only way this property could be improved is if there were king beds. But it’s still 100 on a scale of 1-10.

Great house for Joshua Tree

I don’t know what more you would want from a house - property manager. Communications were all accurate and timely. The property manager provided the heated pool as described, answered all questions and everything is as stated. We loved swimming and relaxing in the hot tub while seeing stars, wildlife and the view. In the middle of the night the local coyotes said hello, scaring my wife but also giving us a really nice moment in our family vacation. The house is stocked, looks like the pics and close to everything, especially the park. Local hiking is easy to access as well, book it.

What a great spot

We had an amazing stay at Casa Altura. Eddie is an attentive host who makes sure you have all the information you need before arriving, and stays in touch during the trip if you have any questions or issues. He even left a bottle of wine for my wife's birthday.The house is in a prime spot with a great view, close proximity to restaurants/shops down the hill, and a quick drive to the park entrance. We loved it and will be coming back for sure!

Stunning Views, a Great Host, and the Perfect Backyard for Our Pup!

Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Altura! The host, Eddie, was fantastic—super responsive, thoughtful, and made sure everything was perfect for our visit. The outdoor space is truly the highlight—gorgeous views, peaceful vibes, and that pool! We spent so much time lounging, swimming, and soaking in the desert sun. Our dog had an amazing time exploring the spacious backyard, which felt totally secure and pet-friendly. Inside, the home is beautifully designed with a great layout, and the kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed for cooking and relaxing meals. The location is ideal too—just minutes from town and the park, but it still feels like a private oasis. Highly recommend Casa Altura to anyone looking for a stylish, serene getaway in Joshua Tree. We can’t wait to come back!
