Welcome to Shady Shoals!

PLEASE NOTE: We allow a maximum of 8 guests per booking including daytime visitors.

Any guest count over 8 violates our house rules, including anywhere on the property or dock, day or night.

Reservations that break house rules will be canceled and guests will be required to leave.

All refunds follow our posted cancellation policy.

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR OVER-OCCUPANCY.

★Two story 1200 square foot dock with amazing water views
★COLD fridge, bar and sink right from the dock
★Bring your boat or rent one
★Paddle board and kayak available
★Life jackets are available
★Multiple large decks and screen porch overlooking the lake
★Charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal)
★4 Large bedrooms as well as two large living rooms.
★Tons of games for kids of all ages.
★Fully equipped kitchen with any cooking appliance or item you will need
★Keurig onsite with starter pods provided; Drip coffee machine also available. Bring your own coffee for drip.
★All linens included (1 towel, 1 wash cloth, 1 hand towel per guest)
★TWO sets of washers and dryers
★Pack & play with sheets and a high chair

8 Beach towels also available but will need to be laundered along with pack and play sheets - these are not included in cleaning fee.

4 outdoor cameras for safety, two driveway facing and two back yard facing. Additional 2 cameras on the dock for safety as well as a doorbell camera. All cameras are in outdoor areas.

Plenty to explore nearby with a The Pontoon stage, several bars and waterfront restaurants. There is always live music, even during the winter months.

Large dock slip for tying up your boat with deep water. Dock lift not available.

We do not allow animals since we use this as a second home and have strong allergies in the family.

***This home is in a residential neighborhood and there are several families in the immediate vicinity with small children. We ask that loud noises be kept to a minimum after 10PM outside to not disturb those families.***

Stays over 2 weeks require mid-stay or bi-weekly cleanings at $275 per clean. These will be scheduled and charged after booking.

Mothers Day 2025

Stayed here Mothers Day, and it was a nice place. Big home with lots of space and plenty of amenties. We made a fire in the chimena and made smores. It was a rainy day when we went so we didnt use the kayaks, but we fished from the covered dock.

Pleasantly Quiet Location

We loved being on the northern end of the lake where there were less crowds! We didn’t realize this would be the case when we selected this rental, but it was so welcomed. We appreciated all of the protected state park around us and easy access to hiking. We rented a boat and explored many quiet coves with few homes that made for great swimming spots.The home was extremely clean. Kitchen and dining room were very accommodating, as were the host to our questions and requests. We liked the separation of some rooms on top floor to other bedrooms and game room on bottom floor. We used the game room a lot, although there is limited seating in there. Living room also only seats five, so our group wasn’t able to really hang out in there. We did use the screen porch a bit, and spent a lot of time on the dock. The two story dock was a highlight! Overall a great stay.

Absolutely amazing place for a getaway! Just as advertised. The outdoor dock space is incredible on quiet cove. Brinnan was amazing to work with and could not be more accommodating.

Awesome stay!

Awesome place to stay! Stayed here with 4 families with children 9 months to 8 years. Dock is great for swimming and jet skiing. The water toys available were loved by all. The house is beautiful with everything you could need. Also very clean and comfortable! Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing stay

We, (2 adults, 4 kids age 11-16) had a great time at this lovely home. It is in an amazing location, the house was great and the kids didnt want to leave. We were able to hang out, swim, kayak, and fish in the protected cove. On the boat dock you can hear the frogs at night, and birds during the day. Highly recommend it!

Amazing!

House and property were beautiful and very well kept. Host was quick to reply with any questions that we had! The dock made for hours of entertainment for the entire family! We brought our boat and it was the perfect location for hoping on the lake! Hope to be back soon!

Great holiday gathering place!

Really enjoyed this property. The kids loved the downstairs section with the bunks. Not many places have large bunks! We loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. The enclosed space on the main floor and the dock were our spots of choice for our stay. The house had everything we could want as far as kitchenware and amenities. Would certainly come back or recommend to others looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Hosts were very responsive as well.

Beautiful lake stay despite the rain

Our stay at Shady Shoals was wonderful! Brinnan was very responsive. We had a small issue with the code when we arrived but as soon as I sent her a text it was resolved. She also gave us many great recommendations on places in the area. We unfortunately had 4 full days of rain but despite that, our stay was amazing. Beautiful home and beautiful dock that’s covered so you can hang out even in the rain, which we did! We would come stay again.

Gorgeous Home and Location!

We had a wonderful time, the house and location was beautiful. The home was well suited for visiting both inside and out. The dock was a destination in itself and was awesome with plenty of space to visit, swim, float or go boating. Ceiling fans at the dock and patio were awesome and a must, the water toys and life preservers were very much appreciated. We chatted briefly with a couple of dock neighbors and everyone was very nice. The house was nicely equipped, it was great to have ice ready in the ice tray and refrigerator at the dock was turned on and cold. The house has tons of room with beds for many more people than we brought and everything was well cared for. Comfortable atmosphere and genuinely felt like we were a family member enjoying the space.

Amazing Lake House

We had an amazing stay with our 2 families (11 total). Check in was easy and the home was very clean. The owner/hosts were hands-off but available and very responsive if needed - the power went out and the internet needed to be rebooted, etc. Our kids took over and loved the bunk rooms in the basement. They spent many hours down at the dock swimming and playing on the kayaks. The house being 3 levels + dock helped out with some separation between all of the individuals in the families. The dock is amazing and a great hang out place. The screened in patio was great to hang at night and coffee in the morning. Being north Lake Norman, it was a little quieter and more family friendly. We made some great memories. I would definitely go back.

Great place to get away and relax.

Boat dock is amazing and lots of fun for hanging out with friends and family, jumping in the water to cool off, and the fans and refrigerator on the dock make it easy to just relax without having to make multiple trips for drinks etc. or having to carry coolers to keep items cold. We rented a pontoon boat and the dock allows for the ability to dock a boat or jetskis and was a very nice bonus. The house is very nice and has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Easy to keep cool in summer with the fans and AC and the furniture is comfy. Rooms are quite large and bathrooms are as well. Pool table and items for entertainment are plentiful and varied. Host was very responsive and attentive to any and all issues and was very pleasant to deal with. I would rent any of her locations without a second thought as she pays attention to detail and wants her guests to have as comfortable a stay as she can provide. Parking and maneuvering multiple vehicles can be a little hairy, but there is plenty of parking for 4-5 vehicles. The house is on a lane that leads to a cul de sac and there are several seemingly permanent neighbors around. Everyone was interactive and cordial but like most areas with VRBO rentals, some in the area have shown displeasure with their neighbors renting out their places. Mind the rules and be pleasant, this is a great rental that needs to remain available for everyone to enjoy!

This beautiful home had everything you needed and then some. The home had the most equipped kitchen for anything we needed to prepare. Everything in the home was done to make our trip easier and enjoyable.

We are excited to share our home with you! We enjoy traveling, boating and live music. We are big on water sports and hoping to get our 3 year old, Cash out on a board this summer. We both grew up in North Carolina and are huge Wolfpack fans! Go Pack!

We absolutely love the water. We wanted a place we could come occasionally and be able to share our love of the water with others. We love the fact that the street is quiet with plenty of room for our kids to play. The water is deep so we can bring our boat and we still have easy access to the main lake.
