Perched under soaring cypress trees you will find the inviting Chapman Point Cottage. Just minutes from town and the beach, this loft-style suite is the perfect launch pad for your Mendocino adventures and a welcoming haven for those in need of a respite. Made from reclaimed redwood, with vaulted ceilings and a spacious floor plan, Chapman Point Cottage manages to provide its guests a cozy and intimate stay with plenty of room to stretch out and relax.

The comfortable living room has a plush sofa, a huge chaise lounger, an entertainment center featuring a 42' wide screen TV, Blu Ray player and Wi-Fi. Adjacent is the full sized-kitchen with everything you need to cook a world-class meal. Enjoy the queen bed in the loft style sleeping area.

Spend the day perusing Mendocino Village's shops and attractions, take in the sun at Big River Beach or clear your mind with a walk across the scenic bluffs at Spring Ranch Park, which is just a few minutes walk from your door. Whatever you choose to do, you can rest assured that Chapman Point Cottage is nearby, ready to be your home away from home.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall very good. Great location, clean, quiet. A wonderful experience. The only thing that would make the experience a bit better - we had a challenge with the heater so perhaps more onsite documentation / manual. Aside from that, I’d recommend staying at this property.

Relaxing Mini-moon!

My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing few days at the property, really enjoyed the location and proximity to Mendocino. The home has everything we needed and was very tranquil!

Beautiful Cottage

This was our third time at Chapman Point so obviously we love the place. The space is open and perfect for the gorgeous location. So close to Mendo and right near one of my favorite hiking areas where this time I saw so many seal, oyster catchers, and just stunning scenery. A great place is this - highly recommended.

Lovely and tucked away near the sea

Lovely mid-century modern cottage, co-located with a larger home on the same property. This is in essence an in-law's cottage and it is quaint and has a lovely setting. Beautiful ocean views from the master bedroom. We had a great stay.

Beautiful place to stay!

Comfortable place to stay in Mendocino! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans. The bed is in a lovely loft with views of the water. We had to pick up keys at a rental office in town, and some information is communicated through an app I couldn't use. The comfort and beauty of the place made up for the slight inconvenience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Chapman Cottage is always such a relaxing stay, every single time. Perched on the bluffs and overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is so fun to cook in and the hottub is always hot and in good working order. The grounds are so pretty and well kept. I always snuggled up and read a good book in their oversized chairs in front of the huge windows. I cannot wait to go back.

A little piece of heaven

This place was EXACTLY what we needed. It was the perfect place to recharge and reset. I felt like we were sleeping in the trees with the loft and windows. The hot tub was phenomenal and the sounds of the ocean when we were outside. This was exactly what we needed to disconnect. My only regret is that we didn't stay long enough. The place was SO CLEAN - management was so nice and accommodating. I forgot my hairdryer and they shipped it back to me.

Amazing Cottage!

This was probably the cleanest property I have been at! And they let my pup come! The location is just a few minutes away from downtown Mendocino. The cottage is cozy, tastefully decorated and I loved all the reclaimed wood. The hot tub is great after a long day of hiking. Highly recommend the Spring trail that is up the road on HWY 1. It takes you along the bluffs for the most beautiful views of the coastline. We are already planning our next trip!

Fantastic Stay!

Everything was amazing!! Only thing I would mention is the lighting in the kitchen is not enough for cooking when it's dark. Need more lights for sure! The coffer make is also a bit tired and did not work - had to make drip coffee. Would highly recommend upgrading this to match the rest of the gourmet kitchen.

Three Days in Mendocino.

The property was convenient to Mendocino and Little River. It was clean with the exception of pet hair on the sofa. The bed was very comfortable and we both loved the shower. The kitchen was moderately furnished. The check in process was easy and well communicated. I would suggest a bathroom throw rug in front of the vanity as the floor is very cold. There was lots of information about things to do and local restaurants provided and the property managers very well organized and helpful.

Marvelous Mendocino

This was our first visit to Chapman Point Cottage. The outdoor grounds were well groomed and the 1/2 mile private road a bonus for walking our pups safely. We liked the washer/dryer, spacious kitchen and shower, and easy parking. The ocean view out of our loft bedroom was an added bonus plus hearing the crashing waves at night. The TV was inoperable so we called maintenance who replaced it with a smaller version. We also loved the close proximity to historic Mendocino with all of the restored Victorian homes. We would definitely consider a return visit in the future.

Chapman point cottage was great for weekend vacation because of the proximity to Mendocino and the ocean views from the house. I also enjoyed the pellet furnace and hot tub. I do wish they would have updated the TV system to only use Roku and not have three different remotes, which was quite confusing. Overall, it was a good stay; my only complaint would be that the bed was kind of hard. There is also another house right next to Chapman cottage, which is not depicted in the images. I wish this information would have been more apparent.

Simple and Just for Two

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is a wonderful, quiet, cozy, romantic setting with nice views of Mendocino's peninsula. In the morning, you can hear the ocean's waves lapping up on the shore. It is about a 3 minute drive to Mendocino and about 7 minutes to Little River. It is a beautiful little building, great light and the hot tub is super! Fully equipped kitchen if you want to play chef, and close enough to awesome dining if you want to eat out. The pellet stove is great, and helps keep the morning chill at bay. The only suggestion - the road sign is super hard to see, particularly at night - if there is any way to have additional signage on Hwy 1. Other than that, it was a terrific weekend and wonderful stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything about this home is wonderful. The architecture and art, the views, and the lovely yard where I sat with my dog. It's well kept and welcoming. Peaceful serenity. It's close to downtown Mendocino and the headlands hikes and the Russian Gulch state park where I picnicked with my dog and hiked some more. I charged my Tesla at the supercharger station in Fort Bragg and there is a lovely yard store and great shopping while you wait. Also a dollar store where I got more dog toys and towels. Very convenient location and a stunning home. The Heath tiles, the mid-century modern cabinets,the beamed woodwork ceiling, and the light fixtures. I couldn't stop taking pictures of this beautiful home and I'm so grateful that owners share it with the public. Finding the rental office was simple and seamless. It was a great experience. Thank you.

Great Getaway

This place was great. Perfect for the two of us. It was very quiet and peaceful. We would sit on the patio and listen to the birds and the sound of the water crashing against the bluff. It was great. Close to everything. The only issue was that contrary to the pictures in the listing, most of the upper windows don't have shades on them. There isn't much around so, it wasn't a huge deal, but at night, if you went up to the bedroom area to change, you felt very exposed. Especially when it was dark. You can't see anything outside, but anything out there could definitely see in. There wasn't anyone at the house next door(the blue house on the other property), but if they were there, they could have seen in. We ended up hanging up a curtain with command strips. Also, it would be nice if the sliding doors had screens on them. You can't get the fresh air in without letting bugs in. Overall it was great and we would definitely stay again.

Just know that the bathroom is downstairs, although the loft is like sleeping in a tree house so that was fine for us. I also thought we would be able to walk to see the ocean but it is a landlocked cottage. I could see a tiny slice from the loft bedroom window.
