Valhalla!!

Welcome to Valhalla on Lake Rescue! We are a lovely four season home with plenty of options right outside our doorstep. Jump on a kayak or throw your hiking shoes on and explore Okemo Mountain and the gorgeous surrounding area. We are just 5 minutes from Okemo and 35 minutes from Killington, Bromley and Magic ski mountains. Our newly renovated home is a 7 minute drive to downtown Ludlow with great restaurants and shops.
The space
Our home is full of custom details to make guests feel comfortable. The first floor is an open concept that makes hanging out and cooking cozy and comfortable. The foyer has custom built-in and benches to make winter undressing and dressing easy. All new appliances in the kitchen are stainless steel. Stove is gas. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to make great meals. The game area is adjacent to the dining area and both have stunning views of the beautiful lake. The game area has games for all ages to enjoy. The living room has a brand new smart TV, high speed Wi-Fi and Nest thermostat.

Bedrooms
All 4 bedrooms are located upstairs. The sleeping configuration is as follows: 2 queen rooms with memory foam mattresses, 1 twin over full bunk bed with a trundle bed and 1 twin over full bunk bed.

There are two folding cribs. One is a standard size and the other crib is a mini crib.

Bathrooms
1 full bathroom on first floor with tub and shower
1 full bathroom on second floor with shower only. This bathroom contains full sized washer and dryer for your use.

The bathrooms are equipped with Terra Pure toiletries for your convenience

Outdoor space
The deck wraps around 3 quarters of the house with 3 separate stairs with gates. By the lake there is dock to enjoy fishing from, morning cup of coffee or evening cocktail on and enjoy the beautiful lake views.
There is a firepit with comfortable seating around it. There are 4 adult kayaks; 2 of which are ocean kayaks, 2 childrens kayaks and 1 rowboat are for your use.

Our wish is that you are able to relax and unwind during your stay at Vahalla and find some peace and tranquility to take with you.

What an absolutely quaint house with a gorgeous view! We stayed during the winter and this place is a 5-10 min drive to Okemo and accessible to many restaurants. The house itself is warm, inviting, and sleeps many people. The beds were ridiculously comfortable and there were plenty of warm throw blankets to keep us toasty after a long day skiing. Thereā€™s laundry available and the host was very accommodating.

Great house, great location

My family and friends enjoyed our stay at Villanova. It was clean with a nice gathering area for us all, plus we each had our own private room. The decor was lovey and the views picturesque. Weā€™d definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time... We rented this for my 85 year old mother who needed some time away even though we only live 30 minutes away... We had family dinners every night on the deck with great food and plenty of laughter! The Kayaks, canoe and paddle boards were well used... and we even saw where the Eagles Nest was and saw mother nature at its best! We had an awesome time...

Cozy and perfect!

Loved our short stay! The house has been lovingly updated and decorated with a great hang out area downstairs, a well equipped kitchen, lots of extra blankets for snuggling and fun games for the kids. We arrived to find a super sweet goodie bag filled with local treats, which was the icing on the cake - would definitely stay again! !

A gem within 5 minutes of Okemo

This property was everything my group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) could have wanted. The house was clean and comfortable and the space was perfect for our ski vacation (mud room for ski gear was a huge plus). Melissa was an extremely responsive host and stocked the house exceptionally well - tons of extra linens and blankets, kitchen supplies, and games for the kids- the house had everything we needed. And all, just 5 minutes from Okemo. The bedrooms are not large, but are comfortable. We would definitely stay here again! Summer with the patio/grill/boats on the lake would also be awesome.

A little bit of heaven

This lakehouse was perfect for our family of seven! So close to Okemo where we skied yet at a peaceful, quiet lake for peace and quiet. The updates to the house are great, and we had everything we needed. Communication was also great with the host and check in was easy. Definitely recommend for any season and we hope to return!

Great spot close to Okemo!

We had a wonderful stay at Valhalla for a 4 night ski trip this December. The place is in a great location and close to Okemo and stores. Kitchen was very well equipped and everything seemed new or recently updated. The kids loved the game ā€œnookā€ and we had plenty of space to all hang out downstairs. All 4 bedrooms are upstairs, so itā€™s close quarters with 1 bathroom up there (the 2nd full bath is downstairs). 2 rooms have bunks, perfect for 2 families! We loved staying there and would book it again! Just be careful to share the hot water if all trying to shower around same time!

Perfect ski cabin

Long weekend trip with family to ski. We absolutely loved staying at this house. The location to Okemo is great. Very close. The view from the back of the house is so pretty, on a lake. This house is very comfortable and clean. Everything you need to stay is provided. Plenty of blankets. Plenty of towels. The kitchen is very well stocked. Everything was very clean! The beds were all comfortable too! There were 8 of us and we did not feel cramped. We loved the game selection. We love playing games after a day of skiing. And this house had plenty to choose from- and great table to sit at and play. Weā€™ve been to other houses in the area and this one was our favorite! Would definitely stay again.

Hi Melissa Your house is lovely. Itā€™s cozy, warmly decorated and nicely furnished. The rooms all worked out fine for our group. The kitchen is well-stocked, and easy to work in. The bathrooms had enough towels and hot water for the group, which is perfect after a day of skiing. Even the game area was stocked with several we played. We forgot our Scrabble but you have it there! Having the gear storage in the entryway as you walk in is wonderful. With so much needed for skiing, it made it easy for us all to keep our stuff organized and accessible. The location of your house is great! Literally a couple of miles from Okemo was really nice. Canā€™t get better than that, with all the comforts of a home. There are two things that were suggested: A second television would have been nice. With eight people, some young and some old(er) LOL, itā€™s not too easy to find stuff to watch that ā€œmeetsā€ with everyoneā€™s tastes. Maybe upstairs in the sitting area? And, a bannister on the short wall opposite the rope wall. We had my mom with us, whoā€™s 88, and having no bannister there made it very difficult for her to come up and down. We didnā€™t build a fire for fear of a puff back. But, it was ok without it. Thank you for your quick responses to our questions, and immediate help with the thermostat thing. Look forward to another trip to Okemo and weā€™ll save your home in my VRBO account for future visits! Best Julie, Deanna, and Lynn

This was our 2nd stay at Valhalla. We love this house. It really has everything you need for a perfect ski weekend. Melanie is very welcoming and quick with any questions. The house is clean and comfortable. The beds are all very comfortable- which is important after spending the day skiing! We love the little game area and the dining room table. Perfect for games at night. Canā€™t say enough good things about this house.
