Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, christ church, revolution Museum, visitor center reading, terminal market, love park,City Hall,Betsy ross house, many bars, beautiful river side, Washington Square, many beautiful park, restaurants, museums, theaters Delaware river within 2min to 5min walking distance.

This home was perfect for our family. Wonderful well appointed kitchen, gorgeous home and convenient location. We had plenty of room to hang out together. There is parking nearby The street is quiet and the beds are comfy.

We loved our stay in Old Philly. The house and location were perfect. You are truly in the heart of it all. But it is a city and you are in what’s essentially a back alley. We always felt safe and the outside has cameras everywhere. We loved being able to walk out our door with all the choices for bars, restaurants and historical sites. The home felt historic thanks to the furniture and decor though the modern art stood out. We had 3 kids under 12 with us but made sure they were respectful of the antique furniture. A little disappointed that the two had fireplaces in the pictures were for decoration only since it was cold while we were there and we were looking forward to enjoying the fire. The place has everything you need for a great trip. Was not expecting the massage chair but it was definitely a hit with the family after a day of walking around the city. Would absolutely stay here again when we come back to Philadelphia. Owner was wonderful and very responsive to any requests.
The rental is the building on right next to parking lot. It shares an alley with restaurants and a high end apartment building which uses the lot so unfortunately you can’t park there. But it was all well lit, clean and safe.

there was a group of older men going to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Marine Corp. From the start, Mimi was great to deal with. Communications were fast and helpful. the group appreciated the well appointed apartment and everything needed to make the stay comfortable. The location of the apartment was perfect and in the middle of pretty much anything we wanted to do. Highly recommend this house.

Overall, lovely building in a central location. The entrance is off an alleyway which is difficult for driving/drop-off, but not unmanageable. Host was very responsive. We enjoyed the massage chair.There were some big rules we didn’t feel we had been given notice of ahead of time - namely, that the host doesn’t allow you to flush toilet paper. There are 3 queen beds. Beyond that, there are some air mattresses.

We enjoyed our stay and appreciated its excellent layout of an open living dining and room with a well-equipped space kitchen outfitted with high quality dishware and cookware that made cooking and meal preparation enjoyable. Bedrooms were large and bathrooms were modern with beautiful floors and counters, and high quality linens.It was surprising to learn, just before arriving, that we were not permitted to flush toilet paper to protect against clogging an apparently delicate plumbing system and that we would have to collect and dispose of this in bags. Half of our party has lived in old Philadelphia houses and have never experienced this issue.While the house was well climate controlled with central air conditioning, the persistent odor of mothballs could not be dissipated. The owner did respond to us in a timely fashion when we brought up this issue. She checked with the cleaning service and ascertained that they had not used moth balls and concluded the smell might be coming from outside. We detected the smell when we came in, not on the street.While the house and street were quiet, the air conditioner was very noisy and could be disruptive to sleep.The location of the house was excellent, providing walkability to the major tourist attractions of Philadelphia. The entrance in a decrepit alleyway is a little intimidating. Finally, there is a rather serious safety concern. There is only one exit (bars on downstairs windows) and no fire escapes on upper floors.

Such a great house for our long weekend in Philly! Good location for walking to all sorts of activities. The house is lovely, spacious and so clean. We highly recommend this property.

Review

Luxurious but stairs were steep and slippery. Master bedroom is on the third floor and a bit inconvient.The 1/2 bathroom was not practical since the plumbing is narrow as we were told. We could not use it. Had to take the stairs each time to use the bathroom. The home does not sleep 8 as advertised.There are only 3 queen beds. No sleep sofa in the living room.

This is a gorgeous property in an ideal location for walking to many historic sites. Access to subway and bus in 1-1/2 blocks. (Seniors ride FREE with SEPTA ID Card.)The Host was very responsive to my online questions. The check-in instructions worked smoothly.The only negative was that the listing I booked had offered a single parking space across the street. That benefit was dropped by the host. I was told that I was responsible for acquiring parking (222 my week). No compensation was offered for the elimination of this original amenity.I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Great Location

Great location and an amazing house! The only downside is that it's located in an Ally that has several condo complexes and restaurants so the morning trash smells can be a little overwhelming.However, the inside of the home is immaculate and amazingly unexpected. When we first pulled up, we were a bit concerned, but as soon as the doors opened, we were in awe. Lots of space, an amazing kitchen, and ample bedrooms with comfy beds!We were close to everything that we visited Philly to see and we found some amazing places to eat nearby! Grab Cheesesteaks from Campo's and eat in the comfort of your own space. Spasso Italian restaurant has homemade pasta and every sauce you can imagine. The portions were huge and the service was impeccable.I would recommend this space to anyone that is visiting the area.

What a gorgeous property! The antique pieces and overall aesthetic are exactly as advertised and made for a truly unique stay. Mimi the host was very prompt and kind in answering any questions we had. Would highly recommend this location to those visiting Philly and wanting to further immerse themselves in the history!

Beautiful Home

Mimi’s property was just as described. The only thing that diminished the experience was the fact that there is no private parking. We were not alerted to this fact until the evening before check in. There is no free parking either. The garages were 50 daily with no in/out. We parked at a meter to eat at a restaurant and came out to find our car had been towed. Cost us 327 to retrieve. This home is in an alley so you have to block it to unload. This listing MUST be updated to reflect this. Communication was okay. We could not enter when we arrived because the code had been changed. Now, after all of that, the home itself is a surprise considering the location. Very elegant and beautiful. There is a amazing massage chair and plenty of towels, toilet paper etc.., The only coffee maker is a Keurig do be mindful of that and do not use the downstairs bathroom if you just HAVE to use paper. Flushing is difficult due to the pipes which Mimi does inform of. Overall it was a pleasant stay but maybe an arrangement can be made with the lot next door.

Wonderful stay

The host was readily available for questions and we had a seamless stay. The beds were comfy and the home was spacious and beautiful. It was convenient to an active nightlife , historical venues, and fabulous dining steps away. We felt safe and rested after our time here! We will book again.!
