This property is the ideal vacation rental. It’s situated right on the edge of the river Valley so all you see is trees and blue skies. The place itself has great amenities with comfortable beds and all the cooking utensils and materials you would need for a great stay. Gary is beyond hospitable, very responsive and very thoughtful. Highly recommend this place and we will be back again with a family of four. Place was great for my two kids and adults as well.

This was a great place to stay for our Bear Valley ski trip. Its clean, well equipped, great views, cozy and comfortable. Gary is a great attentive and an overall great host. We enjoyed the shuffleboard, the woodstove, and Netflix on the nice TV during the evenings, star gazing before bed and beautiful views at sunrise and sunset.

Another great stay here! Gary is a great host and always makes sure you’re taken care of. This time we drove to bear valley adventure instead of Sno Park and the kids loved it! It was only a 5 min difference

Gary’s place was amazing from start to finish. He was always very helpful and responsive. The house was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. We spent Christmas there and had a wonderful time—everything felt clean, warm, and welcoming. We’d love to come back again!

Hi Erica, You brought your dog even though you knew that pets were not allowed. You notified me that you were bringing your dog on day you arrived. That was highly deceptive. Then you told me you left the place in good condition but the cleaners who I work with had a much different opinion. Then, trying to pass your dog off as a service animal was a another form of deception. It appears that your dog tore up one of our pillows and then someone hid it which my next guests found. I have hosted over 100 families and this event ranks at the bottom.

Wonderful vacation rental

We had a wonderful time staying at this rental. It is quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. Great views from the back of the house. Definitely will book again!

Beautiful cabin, great views!

What a great place to stay. The cabin is nestled in the trees and has spectacular views. You will appreciate how nice, clean and well-cared for this vacation rental is. You can't beat bbq'ing on the deck and the great kitchen. Very easy access to Bear Valley, Lake Alpine and more. We will come stay again.

Perfect!

Very relaxing neighborhood, perfect location for what we were looking to do. We visited the Big Trees state park only a few miles away, Tahoe and Lake Alpine.. the small towns along Hwy 4 were fun to visit also. Highly recommend!

Comfortable Retreat in the Mountains

We appreciated the location close to the state park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Interior finishes a little worn and could be refreshed. The bed in the master was very comfortable. The recliner couch in the living room was wonderful too.

Wonderful New Year’s stay

We had the best time at the cabin over the holidays. It was perfect for our two families with young kids. Gary was a super communicative, friendly host. We really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was for cooking, the entire house was incredibly clean, and the kids loved the extensive game collection. It was a cozy, comfortable retreat with beautiful views, and we hope to visit again in the future!

Great place to stay in Camp Connell

We had a wonderful, relaxing time staying at this cabin. The back deck is absolutely wonderful and you could look at the view all day. The house is very clean, has everything you need and so comfortable! Also, Gary the host will communicate with you and make sure everything is perfect. We will come back again!

This is such a beautiful cabin

This was a very relaxing weekend at the cabin. We canoed at Alpine Lake on Saturday & enjoyed it so much we went back on Sunday. This cabin is very well equipped in all areas. Don’t miss out on this beautiful place! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Having visited the Arnold area many times, I know that cabins vary in quality, cleanliness, serenity, and overall experience. This is definitely one of the best properties in the area. Gary is a very attentive host, and I can tell he cares about his guest’s experience. His instructions for check-in were timely and clear. We arrived to a the lightly curated welcome basket with selected treats and drinks. The cabin stocks many thoughtful touches - an array of games, videos, and other entertainment options; a “free to share” shelf with a few food staples such as salt, pepper, and oil, comfortable beds and bedding.What stood out most, however was the endless forest view with no back yard neighbors and the absolute quiet of the property. We could hear distant bird songs echo through the hills for many seconds. I can recommend this property without hesitation.

Fantastic

We had a great couple of days in this house. So quiet and peacefull. Everything you need in a home is there. We mostly enjoyed the deck for a cup of tea in the morning and playing games in the evening.

Beautiful comfortable relaxing experience So many things are right about this place:1. Easy parking: no steep or long driveways, no need to back up2. A bedroom without any stairs: there are no stares from parking to the door, and there is a bedroom and a bathroom on the first floor, easy for elderly3. Unobstructed forest view: there are no neighbors at the back of the house, enjoy trees up close, mountains in the distance, and the sky4. Convenient layout: second bedroom is on the second floor, in the opposite corner from the first floor bedroom, so two adult couples truly have privacy5. Lots of windows: makes the house light and bright 6. Plenty of sitting: couches, chairs, deck furniture, fire pit chairs - space for everyone7. Entertainment options: tv, dvd, board games, children books, shuffle board8. Small items that make your stay convenient: hooks, bars to hang towels, coasters, dishes, pans. No shortage of towels either9. Minimum noise: less neighbors means less noise, so if you want to run away from daily talk-scream-yells-newborns playing piano and so on - you can do it here10. Clean: they do a good job so you can just relaxWe really enjoyed our experience and recommend it to others

Everyone loved our stay here

This house is beautiful, well - maintained, and very clean. It has a layout that really lends itself to a group (around five people). The kitchen is well equipped and spacious. There is a nice size dining table, comfortable and inviting living room. The bedrooms are really nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are great and The view is lovely. The hosts are friendly and full of helpful advice. I would highly recommend this place and I hope to come back sometime.

spectacular

this spot was fabulous. The architecture, the amenities, the special touches all made it a place that I told my husband, "I want to live here!" Gary was attentive and the place was stocked with things far beyond "needs" and well into luxuries. Even a Radio Flyer sled for winter folks. And so close to Big Trees and Murphy's. Loved it!

Wonderful Place!

We loved every minute of our stay. Easy check in. Well Equipped. Great views! Felt like home. We visited the Calaveras State Park. Definitely check that out when you are there. The dining area is a great place to hang out and play games after dinner. The living room is also super cosy and comfortable. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Gary!

Absolutely a delightful place

This is the kind of place you search for on VRBO. An amazing setup, encumbered views of the mountains, and really a great cabin feel for me and 2 children(6-12 years old). Perks include access to a pool and rec area at the neighborhood center, but lots of great games, movies and chill out space. Gary was a delight and wealth of info on fishing the Stanislaus, as well an amazing welcome for my kids and myself. 10 stars! Very clean , easy checkin and great amenities.
