Welcome to your getaway cottage. Centrally located near all that Southwestern Michigan has to offer.

Short drive to public beaches, amazing restaurants, wineries, and breweries.
Please not there is not direct beach access from the cottage.
In the winter enjoy shoe-shoeing, cross-country skiing, or a wine tasting.

In summer, take time to recharge with a hike at the Dunes or a relaxing day at the beach.

Upon arrival, the location was tucked away close to the Lakeshore. The area was private and quiet. Only a few minutes drive to surrounding parks and beaches and Saint Joe.The space itself is an older home and was fully stocked with all the basics that you would need.

Cozy little home with all you need for a quick get away. This time of year the nights are cool and the days warm... The property is just as described with full kit/bath and washer/dryer. It's just a few minute drive to town, and a short drive to a few nice beaches.

Great place for a quick trip. Host had lots of items stocked in the home, which was very impressive. Peaceful location and accessible to find things to go and do.

This place was perfect and was exactly what we needed. Due to a last minute cancellation, we found ourselves in desperate need for a pet friendly house near St. Joe. We were uncertain if we would find anything so last minute, but we really lucked out with this house. Melissa was quick and kind with communication. The house is clean and fully stocked. Couch was comfortable for our teenage son to sleep on and the bed was comfortable for my husband and myself. Kitchen is stocked with whatever you might need. The washer and dryer was a great feature and it was nice to be able to do laundry.The house is located on a quiet street. It is just minutes from Rocky Gap (our favorite beach) and maybe less than 10 minutes from downtown St. Joe. The location was ideal for us and we couldn't have asked for a better spot. We walked our two small dogs daily down the street and if you walk far enough, you can get some nice views of the lake. There is no beach access but you can at least see the lake depending on where you are.We would definitely stay here again and it's now my top choice (we visit the area 1-2 times a year). We've never had to travel with our pets before, but Melissa's house made that easy for us.Overall, a great little house!

Glad you enjoyed the location of the cottage. We strive to provide comfortable stays for each of our guests As far as issues with the cottage and communication. We responded to your messages inquiring about a hair dresser and wine glasses within an hour which was hours before check in. Even after the numerous rude messages and voicemail we received back to back to back minutes after one another. Our cleaners provided feedback that you were less than pleasant with them and let us know that you had issues with the type of coffee we had (complimentary) provided and how you called them after to complain instead of reaching out to us directly. We understand it was unseasonably warm but our unit lists we are a cottage with window units. We offered to cancel your stay early and refund the remaining nights and never got a response. This wasn’t the right fit and other hosts probably would have cancelled the stay upon just the rude correspondence alone.

Summer Trip

It was our third time staying at this property and it's always clean, the neighborhood is quiet and people are friendly, the host is easy to communicate with, there's plenty of linens, anything we need for the kitchen, bathroom soaps & shampoo, and the sunsets on the lake across the street are gorgeous. Relaxing on the back deck is very peaceful. We love this cottage and we will be back many more times.

Nice and clean

We stayed with our 2 dogs in this duplex. We had nice neighbors and visited beautiful Tiscornia Beach. In my opinion 3 adults didn't have comfortable sleeping arrangements since we were not a couple.

The cottage had been painted since the listing when I booked it! Overall a very cute place. The upgrade from window units to portable ac units I’m sure is a plus. We had to replace the batteries in the tv remote but that was no biggie! I’m sure the host would have if we had reached out.

What a Gem!

The property was exactly what I was hoping for. It was off the beaten path a little, but within a few minute drive to anywhere. It was tucked back on a one-way drive in a residential area right off the highway within a 5-minute drive to downtown St. Joseph. Our entire trip was based around Rocky Gap Beach, which is a great, low-key beach that is a hidden treasure in of itself. The property was stocked with everything we needed and was very comfortable. My family and I will definitely be coming back to this property as it was perfect for our weekend getaway.

Clean, cozy little place.

This was exactly the kind of place we were looking for - Clean, well maintained, comfortable and just out of the way to avoid the crowd, but close enough to everything we needed it to be close to. And priced within our budget. Had one tiny issue (not the hosts fault), but the host responded literally within just a few minutes and got things squared away immediately. This is a small place, definitely not for a large group, but was exactly what we needed - just a clean, dry, comfortable place to clean up, eat a bite and get some sleep in between fishing trips. Suited us perfectly.

Michigan Summer

The property was suitable for a couple and well equipped including a hairdryer for my lady. The bathroom did not have plug for the hairdryer that we could find so was a little awkward for hair drying. The temp control challenged my skills but we did work it out for our comfort. Reading light was limited as well. Nice cozy accommodation that was well equipped for living including laundry items and cooking tools.

The place was in a great location to downtown (only 10 mins away) and affordable. The posting said the couch was a a twin pullout but the couch did not open up. There was a blow up mattress that was appreciated so the house still held 4 people. The sheet that was over the mattress in the bedroom had multiple stains on it. The house did have extra pillows and sheets which came in handy. There was a bunch of earwigs throughout the house. The necessities of dishes, silverware, cups and coffee were provided.

It was as pictured and close to the town so we were able to see alot in the few days we were there. Property was well stocked and we had everything we needed. Very quiet, peaceful area and I would definitely go back.
