The adventure begins as you cross over a covered bridge. The perfect place to castaway all your cares and enjoy all that nature has to offer. Enjoy listening to the creek as you relax with a cocktail on the screened-in porch, soaking in our Hot Tub or toasting marshmallows at the fire pit just feet away from the creek. Experience the chorus of frogs, crickets and birds at dusk. You won't forget how beautiful that is. What a treat!

The host was amazing. The cabin is beautiful and stocked with everything you could think of to make your stay awesome. We had the best time with our teenage kids. They loved everything to do outside. It is a perfect quiet getaway to reconnect and unwind. We would love to come back and make more great memories.

The house and game room/loft were HUGE. All the bathrooms and showers were beautifully done. The property was super clean. Martha, the manager was great to work with and very sweet. Nothing negative to say about the property. It was perfect! The stream, the old bridge, the hot tub, the fire pit and the loft above the game room. All were perfect. I absolutely recommend this property.

We had a great immediate family get together in early June 2025. This property is absolutely breautiful and very peaceful. Many games and activities are provided to keep everyone entertained. Even more important, the owner, Martha, was so very kind and helpful....she even mailed items that were forgotten back to me. I highly recommend this property (wish I could give it 10 stars).

Amazing Location

We truly enjoyed our time with our family. Cabin location is convenient to nearby towns and had everything we needed to stay in if we wanted. Martha is a fantastic host!

Amazing Property and Host!

Castaway is truly a hidden gem! The location couldn’t be more perfect—conveniently situated between Ellijay and Blue Ridge, yet tucked away just enough to provide a serene and peaceful retreat. The newly added firepit is an absolute highlight, perfect for cozy evenings under the stars. The cabin itself is spotless, thoughtfully organized with clear labels on everything (a small but incredibly helpful touch), and exceptionally comfortable.What truly sets this experience apart, though, is Martha. Having stayed in numerous short-term rentals, I can confidently say she is unmatched. Her communication was prompt and attentive, and she went above and beyond to ensure my boys and I had everything we needed for an unforgettable stay. She even showed a genuine interest in making sure we had a fantastic experience.I can’t recommend Castaway enough and am already looking forward to returning!

Perfect cabin with all you’ll need.

We had 2 adults and 5 kids stay here. There was plenty of space and it has all you need to keep the kids occupied. Having the separate cabin/game room was great to send the kids to when the adults needed a break. The new fire pit area was great. Hot tub is always a nice addition and the fact that it is under a covered deck was perfect to sit in while it rained. The best part was the location right on the creek. You could walk right down to the creek without having to deal with hundreds of steps to go down and back up. If you are bringing kids, waders are an absolute must have. The kids absolutely loved being able to walk up and down the creek in the water. Martha was a pleasure to work with. She was always very responsive and helped us with anything we needed. I’d highly recommend this place and would love to come back in the future.

Perfect Christmas Trip!

My family (me/spouse/3 boys ages 10-19/mother in law) stayed here Christmas week. Property looks brand new and was clean, well stocked with everything we needed and even decorated for Christmas! Plenty of hikes available in easy driving distance, grocery store not too far away, and close to Ellijay where we had a breakfast together and shopped in the beautiful town one morning. Also we stayed on property several days of our trip just to fish in the creek (my oldest son caught a couple fish each day) and spend time together. My middle son enjoyed all the games especially in the game room. My youngest loved exploring around the grounds and using his imagination for all sorts of adventures outside. We are already planning a return trip!

Big Birthday Celebration

This place was Amazing!! Peaceful and relaxing. The cabin had everything you would need. Martha was so kind and attentive if you had any questions or needed anything. My husband said that this was the best birthday ever and was so happy I found this cabin and location. We look forward to our next trip to Castaways. Vera F.

We can't say enough about this amazing property. The host Martha was so welcoming, accommodating and always ready to help. The property is stunning, clean and full of activities (you never have to leave). The creek located at the back of the property is stocked with gorgeous rainbow trout (catch and release) and provides a natural soundtrack for relaxation. If you are looking for the perfect compound for your wilderness getaway...look no further!!! Highly recommend!

Much needed Grammy & PawPaw time

Perfect place for a quiet and peaceful gathering. Amenities galore. Super clean and comfortable. The grands loved throwing rocks in the stream, catching and releasing tadpoles, playing with the many creek toys and other outdoor games available. S’mores at the amazing fire pit and a dip in the hot tub closed out the fun filled days. The birthday boy said “this was the best birthday ever!” Martha is a wonderfully helpful and kind host. She even had a gift and birthday cookie cake for my grandson! We will definitely return one day!

Perfect

There is nothing negative I can say about the property. It is remote and absolutely beautiful! We had the best time, the creek was the highlight for our family. The game room is perfect and the bedroom above it is very comfortable. Our group consisted of teenagers to adults and everyone was very pleased. We don’t have one complaint about this place. Martha was an amazing host and quick to respond. The donuts left upon check in were amazing. We will be staying here again!

Amazing Family Vacation on the Big Creek!!

We chose this property for our mom’s 80th birthday celebration because she loves to trout fish and this offered a very gentle walk to the waters edge and had only two steps into the main level featuring full bedrooms and bath on main. The host, Martha, was an absolute pleasure to work with and left no stone unturned when it came to both decorating and provisioning the property. Everything was perfect and we’ll definitely return!!

Fantastic Getaway

My family spent three nights here. It is a wonderful property with great access to a creek right in the backyard! The property is well tended and the cleanest rental we’ve stayed at. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable. Kitchen appliances and dishes were in pristine condition, which really helped you feel at home. The owner, Martha, is available if you have any questions, and she even greeted us with warm fresh banana bread after our first night. The kids were never bored! There were several family board games, outside games such as foosball and corn hole, and a hot tub! I enjoyed reading a book on a wooden swing down by the creek. We spent each afternoon by the fire pit, enjoying s’mores. It was secluded, yet accessible (25 minutes to Blue Ridge). We look forward to coming back for a longer stay!

AMAZING GETAWAY!!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our short visit to Castaway . I am a neat freak and was excited to see that the owner takes pride in cleanliness and organization. At first concerned that we were far from stores but it turned out to make for some great quality time with family. Only ate out once. Wonderful kitchen to prepare meals. So many amenities. Lovely view and sound of rushing waters from Big Creek. You score a 5 with us. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

If you’re looking for a 5 star experience in the beautiful north Georgia mountains, then you need not look any further! Clean, fully equipped, cabin and guest house situated on a softly rolling creek with covered bridge entrance - you will feel as though you have entered a storybook setting. You will lack for nothing and the property host is amazing!

Just Right

It was just right! My family of four plus both sets of parents had a great time. Close enough to Ellijay and Blue Ridge to visit both. Cabin was stocked with plenty to do for us and kids (shuffle board tournament became a big hit) along with the fire pit. Sitting listening to the creek was definitely relaxing. Owner was great! Reached out to us before we got there and was very easy and good to work with and very accessible if needed. We all ageed we will be staying there again!!

Family is Everything

This year, we decided to have our family vacation in the mountains, Blue Ridge mountains. Oh did we get lucky. We had the most beautiful cabin, with the best hospitality. Our host/manager was thoughtful and caring. She made us feel right at home. Our cabin came equipped with absolutely everything a family would need. There were so many indoor/outdoor activities/games we only left the cabin to do grocery shopping. It gave us the opportunity to bond with our family especially our teen children. We came back home recharged, closer than ever and a bit nostalgic of our time spent at the cabin. It was absolutely everything my family needed. We are looking forward to our next stay at our home away from home.

Hi! Thank you so much for your interest in Castaway located in Cherry Log in the North Georgia Mountains. I have been an Owner/Property Manager of several condos over the course of 17 years at Edgewater Beach Condominium located in Destin, Florida. I have just recently sold my last condo. This has given me the opportunity to focus on my guests at Castaway. Our personal cabin is just 5 cabins away which allows me to be hands-on whenever needed. One of my joys is to make sure my guests have an incredible and worry-free time. I feel that begins well before their stay, during and after. I have truly enjoyed getting to know my guests and want them to feel they have found their "Home-away-from-home". So it just made since to purchase this wonderful cabin in the Mountains as they are so close to us. I'm so excited to be able to offer this beautiful property so families and friends can be together and share life-long memories. I hope that Castaway will become your home-away-from-home too! Welcome to the North Georgia Mountains!
