Panoramic Ocean Views, Private Heated Pool, Spa, and Waterslide!

My wife and I are glad that Cody and family enjoyed their stay with us. However, we would like to offer clarification on a couple of his comments that are somewhat misleading here. We don't have cats, we've never owned cats, and we've never allowed our guests to bring cats. Also, our pool has a deep end as mentioned for those that wish to use and enjoy the waterslide or to just dive in! We ALSO have a large "Baja" at the opposite end of the pool. A Baja is essentially a large, extended step or shelf within the pool. The Baja is great because it allows younger kids to swim and play in the shallow water (16" depth) while parents/adults lounge in the pool at the same time. The Baja is approximately 12' x 12'. In addition to the Baja we also provide a few small life vests if needed. We hope this extra information and context is helpful for planning your future trip!

Thank you for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Just to clarify, our house does have central heating and air so it is always comfortable year-round. All of our guests are free to use it whenever they want. We encourage all of our guests to call us directly anytime if they have questions about house amenities, pool, remotes, temperature, etc. Out of respect for our neighbors we ask that quiet time start at 10pm but you are welcome to stay our longer to enjoy the backyard so long as its not loud music, yelling, etc.

Sophia booked our house on 4th of July weekend for 2 nights. Her booking listed only 3 people. I reached out to her a couple days prior to arrival to re-confirm guest count she again stated that there would only be 3 staying with no visitors (we do allow 10 people staying or visiting). She arrived at the house with a large group of people all carrying suitcases, bags, and cases of alcohol. Soon after arrival the complaints from my neighbors started coming in. I was told that there was loud music blasting in the backyard, and lots of people drinking, yelling, and screaming. This was a house party quickly getting out of hand. San Diego City has strict rental laws against parties and we can potentially lose our rental license so we had no choice but to ask her and her group to leave. Also, one of the guests brought a dog. We do allow dogs on a case-by-case basis. We only ask that you let us know up front so we can collect the necessary damage deposit for potential accidents.

We welcome suggestions and depend on input from our guests for improvement. That said, while this review contains some nice compliments and useful information about our house it also contains some misleading information as well. For starters, our house is located along the coastal zone in San Diego which means we enjoy a nice comfortable climate year round. The winters are mild, our summers cool, and the air seldom really dry, unless there are Santa Ana winds from the east. The average high temperature range: From 65 degrees during the winter to 77 degrees in the summer. Since our house sits on a hill there is almost always a nice, refreshing afternoon breeze throughout our many doors and windows. In the seven years we've been offering our home this is the first complaint we've received regarding temperature in the house so we went ahead and purchased 3 freestanding a/c units for our future guests to use, if they wish. Our mattresses are all new purchased within the last year. They sit on low profile platform beds with reinforced bases and thus, do not require box springs. They are all very comfortable. As far as layout and sleeping arrangements go, our house sleeps 10 people comfortably with beds. The queen size air mattress is offered for 2 extra people just in case. Both bathrooms are large, with dual vanities. My wife and I originally purchased this house not only because of the spectacular views but also because we love the quiet neighborhood. We lived in this house for many years prior to deciding to share with others so we know all of the neighbors and our neighbors know us. Almost all houses are owner occupied (many with the original owner, since these houses seldom go for sale) We don't have nor do we allow loud parties in the neighborhood nor do any of our neighbors as suggested here. When we do find something isn't working we immediately fix or replace it. We inspected the oven and cooktop after reading this review and there are no issues we could find. However, we had the oven cleaned again, just in case. We did find that there was an issue with the outdoor BBQ and for this we are very grateful that this guest pointed it out. Unfortunately, we were not made aware of this issue until after their departure so we could not immediately fix/replace. We have since purchased a brand new stainless steel 7 burner KitchenAid BBQ for our guests to enjoy. Again, thank you for the feedback on this!
